The next morning, I woke up at 06:00 since that was the time that my body was used to waking up. I doubted the Coulson was awake yet and I didn't want to disturb him by using the com, so I decided to stay in the room and do some exercise. I decided to do push ups until 06:15 then sit ups until 06:30 and worked on my punching form until 06:45 and then was going to repeat the entire thing until Coulson came in halfway through my push ups which distracted me.
"How long have you been up?" He asked as he opened the door to see me exercising.
"I had a very strict routine at the base and my body is still used to it, so it woke itself up and 0600 hours. I didn't know if you were awake and didn't want to disturb you, so I just decided to exercise a bit." I explained as I sat cross-legged on the floor, looking up at Coulson, who looked shocked at the fact I didn't look tired.
"You've been doing push ups for 55 minutes?" He asked with disbelief.
"No, I did push ups for 15 minutes, then 15 minutes of sit up, 15 minutes of punching form and then I was going to repeat until you came in 10 minutes into my second set of push ups." I corrected.
"How are you not dying or at least sweating?"
"I did six hours of training nonstop for 2 years, I have good stamina." I explained as I stood up from the floor and got my boots on. "Since you're up, can we get breakfast? I'd normally have it at 0700 hours and before training so I'm a bit hungry."
"Sure, but are you going to wear that? I mean you wore them yesterday and slept in them." He asked looking at my clothes.
"Well I don't have any other clothes otherwise I would change."
"I'll get someone to buy you some clothes, do you have any preferences?"
"Something that covers as much skin as possible, no skirts, a hood would be cool and all dark."
"That's specific."
"I don't like showing skin for obvious reasons, you can't train in a skirt and a hood to cover my face and because it casts a shadow over my head." I explained calmly before remembering I'd forgotten one, "Also, all dark cause I work best in darkness."
"Right, I'll get someone on that but, do you know what size you are?"
"I'm 10 but I was told that I was smaller than average so, size 7-8? But that's the English sizes, I don't know how America sizes kid's clothes."
"It's done by age as well which makes this easier. Anyway, let's go get some food."
"Okay, thanks." I said, walking out of the room and I could sense the cheer coming off of Coulson when I thanked him.

At breakfast I had porridge and bread since that was what I was used to, but Coulson said that it wasn't enough, so he gave me some of his bacon. It was quite good; better than porridge and bread at least.

After eating, Coulson escorted me to a small interrogation room with a dark table, a chair on either side and a large pane of one sided glass to the side. Coulson indicated for me to sit in the seat furthest from the door, so I did but as I sat down I decided to voice my query. "Is the one-sided glass bulletproof?" I asked in my normal blank voice.
"Um... W-what?" Coulson asked, confused at my question.
"There was one-sided glass in the training room, so they could watch me. One day I got frustrated and decided to see if it was bullet proof or not, of course this was before they took away my live ammunition rights but anyway, I was curious as to whether that pane was also bulletproof." I explained, looking at the glass before looking back at Coulson for an answer.
"No, it's not."
"Oh, okay." I looked at it for a moment before looking at Coulson, "Anyway, you wanted to interrogate me about my past, I'll be quiet."
"Yeah, thanks... So, um, you're English correct?" he asked, looking down at a tablet he was holding which I assume had all the information they had about me on.
"Yes, I was born in England, but I was technically raised in Canada." I confirmed.
"Technically?"
"Yes, when I was 3 my parents found out about my psychic abilities and moved us to a remote location in Canada to keep me away from people but when I was 8 I was kidnapped and continued being raised by the doctor in some facility that I don't know where was."
"So, your parents feared you?"
"...Yes. After discovering my powers and moving me away from the rest of the world, they locked me in a room with no access to the outside world and only came into the room to stock the shelves of food once a week. Other than when my father came in, I had no contact with them."
"This was your life until you were 8?"
"Yes... On my eighth birthday my mother was killed, and the police got involved. They found out how I was being treated and I was sent to a foster home but 4 days after, I was kidnapped."
"How did your mother die?" he asked looking down at his tablet as if to confirm something.
"The police believe that my father killed her."
"But how did she really die?"
My voice faltered as I tried to answer, "...I-I... She came into my room and... tried to beat me... I lost control a-and she..." I took a deep breath and looked up, straight at Coulson, "I killed her."
"You lost control of what?"
"The darkness. I have 2 main powers, but they are both split into 2 parts. For my psychic powers it's mind and emotions and for my other one it's darkness and shadows. I can control shadows easily, but darkness is hard to control. See, it doesn't listen to me, but it will protect me."
"I'd like for you to clarify your powers, same way we did with the injuries, okay?"
"Okay."
"Mind?"
"I can read the conscious thoughts of people within a certain area of myself and can project my thoughts into another's head. Unless I focus on a certain person, my mind swaps from mind to mind but I need to focus really hard to project my thoughts and I can only do it to one person at a time. This all depends on light level, the brighter my surroundings the smaller my reach and the less I can focus on doing it. Next?"
"Emotions."
"I can sense people's emotions, when people feel happy, when their sad, if their mad or calm, if they are disgusted or attracted and I can also sense where these feelings are aimed. This also relies on light, the brighter the room the less I can sense. Next?"
"Shadows."
"I can manipulate shadows on walls and other objects. I can make them move and shift like shadow puppets, which is why Shadow Puppet was my nickname in the White block. I can't control the light level with this, I can only use existing shadows at the level that they are at. And finally?"
"Darkness."
"I don't fully understand this power since I've only managed to use it a few times during my training sessions at the White block. I know that I can only summon it when my life is in immediate danger and that it will protect me how it sees fit, even if that involves killing the source of my peril, and even if I try to stop it, the darkness will still fight. However, from what I understand, it is the construction of darkness both in the form of shadows and as actual things um... Matter? I think it's called, I haven't gotten the best education, but rather than normal shadows the darkness has form, you can touch it and it can hurt you unlike shadows which is more like smoke. Next?"
He paused as if someone else was telling him what to do next and stuttered as he knew the topic was going to be sensitive, "...I-I'd like to know how you killed your mother."
"I—" I took a deep breath and closed my eyes briefly, 'I can do this...' "O-on my eighth birthday, my mother came into my room to fill up my shelves and... she caught me playing with a shadow T-Rex on the wall. She saw it move despite the fact that the actual toy that was projecting the shadow was completely still and she got really mad. She called me over to her side and I obeyed s-since my mother had never raised a hand to me before that. She wanted to 'teach me a lesson' and I could feel something I had never felt before resonating off of her. I couldn't place the feeling at the time but after spending 2 years in that place, I can now put a name to it... Blood lust... She wanted to kill me... And the darkness defended me... I struggled with her as her shadow crept up her body and down her throat, suffocating her as all the shadows in the room swirled around us like we were in a hurricane of darkness and before I knew it... about a dozen spikes of pure darkness had... shot out of the ground and gone through her... N-next?" I explained in the calmest voice that I could, stuttering a few times. He paused as if to listen again and I rolled my eyes, "If the person on the other side of the glass wants to come in and ask questions they can, they don't have to talk through you."
Coulson looked up at me confused, "How did you know there was someone else?"
"You kept pausing between questions and it doesn't take much to see the earpiece. Also, I could sense a second person watching me." I noted and, after a few seconds, the door to the interrogation room opened to reveal a tall bald black man wearing a large black coat that reached down to his ankles and an eye patch over his left eye walked into the room, closing the door behind him. "I know you already know my name but it's rude not to introduce yourself so, I'm Alicandra Morgan, nice to meet you, mister?" I looked up at the man with a formal expression.
"Director Nick Fury of SHIELD." He introduced himself coldly as he crossed his arms and stood behind Coulson.
"So, was there anything else you wanted to ask me?" I asked blankly, looking from Coulson to Fury.
"I don't have—" Coulson began to answer but was cut off.
"Yeah," Fury said, grabbing both of our attentions, "Who were the group that captured you?"
I looked Fury straight in the eye and spoke in a slightly sincere version of my normal tone as I answered, "I don't know. They never told me who they were. I know the doctor who looked after me was called Whitehall, but he never told me who he worked for."
He looked at me intently as he tried to work out if I was lying or not and of course I was lying but I was also good at it when I wanted to be. "We were there for a specific person, who wasn't present during the raid," he explained as he looked at me carefully to watch my reaction, "A master assassin known as the Winter Soldier."
Winter? I kept my expression the same despite the shock at hearing the name as I thought about how I should reply. Why would they want Winter? Whatever the reason I knew the truth about him and I knew Fury wouldn't understand or care even if he was being controlled to kill so I had to lie again. "No, I've never heard of them. I was kept in my little block and rarely had contact with anyone other than the doctor, I fought some nameless agents that the doctor ordered me to but other than that I wasn't allowed to socialize." I said in an emotionless voice.
Fury looked me up and down with suspicion, but I could tell that he didn't know if I was lying. "Okay, now I'm done." I got away with it.
"So, may I know what happens to me now?" I asked, looking between the two men.
"Well, you may be a kid, but you are still a trained assassin, so we cannot just put you into the system. We're going to keep you as a training member of SHIELD and give you a proper education." Fury explained.
"Okay, that's fine, I'm used to training now and I don't know what I'd do with myself if I had to stop anyway but since I was kidnapped and missing for 2 years I'm probably legally dead. You should probably do something about that." I mentioned with my calm and cold voice.
"You are correct, you have a very unique name so when we looked you up we managed to find you quite easily and you are currently considered legally dead after 'your body' was discovered along with someone else shot to death in a car. We assume that whoever kidnapped you didn't want anyone searching for you so swapped you out with a different girl. We'll correct this but that will mean you'll need to be adopted by a member of SHIELD, so you can train and live here."
"Okay, who is going to be my legal guardian?"
"I am going to have Coulson look after you." Fury said, obviously without consulting Coulson on the decision as he looked up the director with shock and confusion on his face.
"Okay well, as I've already told you, I have a bad track record with male parental figures so don't expect me to call you dad, you'll be Coulson, okay?" I confirmed with him.
"T-that's..." Coulson, who was still taken a back by the sudden announcement that he was going to adopt me, couldn't talk.
"I will also by your legal guardian, but Coulson will be in charge of training, educating and basically raising you." Fury added.
"Oh, well same goes for you, you're just Fury." I confirmed.
"I'd prefer to be called Director."
"I call everyone by their surnames so that means you're Fury." I explained, not backing down from my ways but Fury just sighed in agreement before I asked, "So anyway, what now?"
