The sky of Southampton was still cloudy. There's no rain since past 3 hours and final of first world test Championship was all set to began in 30 minutes. Virat put his blazer on and stepped into the ground for the toss. He looked around. Almost 90% of the crowd were indian supporters. They were screaming, when he entered the ground for toss. The indian captain smiled and waved. He reached at the middle of the ground, where kane was waiting for him. They both smiled looking at each other. Match referee Chris broad handed virat the coin. Virat flipped the coin and kane called 'Heads'. Referee looked at the coin and informed that kane won the toss.

Virat groaned mentally. It was a important toss and he should have won it. Kane chuckled slightly as they both headed towards the camera. Kane took a mike and tossed another one towards virat. The later catched it effortlessly and smiled a bit as kane began to answer the questions asked by the tv anchor. Kane decided to bowl first, considering the cloudy atmosphere. He handed his playing 11 list and stepped back as virat came forward to address. Virat admitted that he wanted to bowl first too but considering it's a big match, few runs in the board will be helpful too. Virat also handed his playing 11 sheet and walked away with kane beside him as the umpires stated that the match will begin in 20 minutes. Kane and virat were walking together when

"I think I should have bring rohit with me. He could have won the toss. Don't know why these coins are acting like my old rivals.

Kane laughed.

"Don't start your whining now, kohli. You are the captain of your side. Behave like a sane and matured person, even though you're not one."

Virat chuckled and kane joined him.

"See you after 5 days, kane. Till then goodbye."

Virat grinned as kane raised his eyebrows.

"What are you talking about? You're going to meet me in 30 minutes, virat."

Virat shook his head.

"Nope. I'll meet my rival Captain kane Williamson on the field. Who'll try his best to win this match. Similarly you'll meet the Indian captain virat kohli, who is ready to do anything to fulfill his dream of being no1. We're competitors now, mr Williamson!! Don't forget."

Kane nodded.

"Of course i didn't, virat. It's just that one second you're my friend who was whining like a kid, another second you talk like a opponent captain!! I was just wondering, How fast you can change your behavior!!!"

Virat laughed.

"You know both the whining virat and the captain virat, very well kane. They both have only one goal. To be the best. All the best kane. It's time to do our national duties."

Kane nodded as they sidely hugged each other, before heading towards their respective dressing room.

Day 1 of the final.

The members of both the teams were on the field for the national anthem. First Kane and his boys sang their anthem along with the other new zealand fans. Then it was virat's team india's turn. Every single indian fan were singing their national anthem along with their team. Virat was staring at the Indian Flag in front of him, proudly.

"We'll win this. Not just for us but for our country. For every single souls, who supports us. Who prayed for our success. We'll win this."

After it, both the teams headed back to their dressing room. Indian Opners Rohit Sharma and Subhman Gill came to the field to open india's first innings. Gill took the strike first, as kane gave the first over to Tim Southee to bowl. Gill hit it for boundary and despite of a good fielding performance by New Zealand, he managed to score 3 runs. India scored 3 runs in first over.

In the 4th ball of 6th over, gill played a beautiful pull shot to trent boult and india scored first boundary of the final.
Indian openers were starting to set on the crease well until the 21st over when kane brought Jamieson back to action. On the first ball, when rohit was trying to defend the ball, it edged and southee dived to took a splendid catch. Rohit was given out and he muttered something before going back to pavilion.

"Maybe virat was right. This player is going to test us alot."

India lost their first wicket on 62.

After Rohit's wicket, Cheteswar Pujara came to the crease. Before india could overcome the loss of Rohit's wicket, in the 25th over, Neil Wagner got another wicket of the set batsman Subhman Gill who tried to play it off the stump but got caught by the wicket keeper Bj wattling.

India lost their second wicket on 63. Both the set batsmen were out.

The indian captain was on the crease now. From past few months, he was struggling to make runs according to his standards. The first job in his hand was to make sure to not lose any other wicket. Virat and pujara were on the way of forming a strong partnership, until the 40th over when Southee lbw pujara leaving once in a strong position india to struggle on 88-3.

The captain and vice captain duo Virat-Rahane made sure to not lose any other wicket by playing defensively. Virat, who started his innings by a beautiful cover drive was playing safely not putting pressure on himself to score unnecessary boundaries. Rahane on the other hand, was hitting 4s time to time making sure to balance their partnership. Before the play has been officially called off, india scored 146/3 with captain and his deputy still not out.
