"Clarke, I don't think you're good at it," Lexa said quietly without turning around.

She was sitting in front of me, between my legs, turned back to me. I tried to braid her, but I was totally failing it. I could hear her chuckling from my failure. After I had almost done it, I had to unbraid it, because in the beginning I went in the wrong direction and it destroyed the whole construction. So, here I tried to do it once again. Unsuccessfully.

"I know. It's so hard," I pouted and let go. All of the braids fell away. Lexa turned around. Her hairs were right now in a huge mess. One braid still didn't fall away, but it was just half of it, sticking awkwardly on the left side. On the center of her head, a few strands were standing for no reason. And on the right side, the strands were really wavy.

She shot me one of those cute smirks, that I just couldn't help but smile.

With these smirks and those hairs. "You look adorable."

Lexa leaned a little bit closer, looked at my lips, and back on my eyes.

"I'm the Commander. I'm not meant to look adorable." Her voice was serious, but a smirk was still playing on her lips.

She closed the distance between us by placing a soft kiss on my nose. Then she stood up and stretched her hand to me and I took it. Lexa helped me stood up like I weighed nothing. She walked to the only mirror in her - or should I say our - room. I was just standing behind her as she was trying to clean the mess I've made on her head.

This time she only took her headpiece, I put some jacket on and we headed to the throne room.

As I found out, Lexa was spending at least three hours there every day, so that grounders with their problems could ask for her help. Also one of her duty was to have at least two meetings for a week with young Natblidas.

The throne room was empty. Lexa sat on her throne and I just stood in front of her awkwardly.

"What about me?"

She just smiled softly. "You can take a special seat."

I frowned, not knowing exactly what she meant.

"On my laps." She laughed at my earlier confusion.

I sat on her laps, but I couldn't see her face. Besides, I could bet that she wouldn't handle my weight for a long time. So I turned. I leaned against one armrest and put my legs on another one.

Lexa smiled satisfied at my idea. She started gently drawing circles around my knee.

"Lex-" I took her chin in my hand and she looked at me. I could see clear happiness on her face. No worries, problems. No Titus saying that this is a weakness. No Pike. No A.L.I.E. No war. It was just she and I. "What are we gonna do next?" She frowned and stopped with these circles. "I mean after Octavia will deal with Pike?"

"We are going to Arkadia."

"But what after that? What about A.L.I.E? I think we shouldn't underestimate her."

"Klork. Don't worry about that. We will deal with her. Like we will deal with everything in the future. Always."

I smiled. She really could comfort me like no one else. "Always."

We were about to kiss, but someone came to the room, without any warning. Both of us looked there surprised.

Titus - who else would it be - and the other grounder came into the room, but they stopped as they noticed as, clearly shocked. I slipped of Lexa and straighten up really embarrassed. Lexa wasn't embarrassed at all. More likely annoyed.

I thought she will also stand up, but she didn't. As I turned to look at her, I saw only the Commander. I looked at Titus and the grounder once again.

Titus opened his mouth for a moment and then closed it. If he was shocked before, I couldn't say what he was right now.

I felt strong arms dragging me down and after a second I was again sitting on Lexa's laps. Now my back was pressed to her chest and I could see her.

Her expression softened a little bit, almost unnoticeable, but it was still really serious.

As Lexa saw that Titus was nowhere to speak, she said:

"What is it, Titus?" Her tone was nothing like Lexa I knew.

I think I just needed to get used to this change.

"Heda," he bowed a little bit. "Skaikru gave up Pike."

"Yes. March with him will come today in a few hours. I was sent on a horse to tell you about it faster."

"Thank you. You're free to go."

And the grounder left the room, but Titus stayed.

"Lexa, I don't even want to talk about--" he stopped for a moment and just pointed at us. "This. But I need to ask about your next plans."

"We are going to Arkadia," Lexa answered him, seriously and confidently. Her hand found its way to my knee and started drawing circles on it once again.

"Are you sure it's a good idea? In my opinion, you should not leave the capital right now. Azgeda's army is still really close, if you'll go they can attack. From Arkadia, you won't get here on the time. I'm pretty sure that ambassadors will agree with me on this one."

"Roan won't attack. He doesn't have any reasons for that. Besides, no one has to know that I left."

"Well, you will have to take your guard..." Lexa spluttered. "Lexa, don't you say you won't take it."

I looked at her, unsure. It was indeed a big danger for her. Many grounders still didn't agree with our coalition. Trikru is furious for the people they've lost. Azgeda is sure that she's weak, especially right now, because of me.

"Lexa, you're not taking your guard?" She looked at me with those concerned eyes. I had to sound really worried.

"No. We can defend ourselves as well." She looked back at Titus. "Anything else?"

"Not that it would change anything," he said and looked as down and up with clear disgust and disapproval.

As he left Lexa took a deep breath to calm herself down.

"Hey, it's okay," I put an arm around her and she played her head on my chest. "Are you sure about this guard, though? It can be dangerous."

"Yes, Klork, I'm sure. But if you aren't feeling safe I will take some people."

I kissed the top of her head. "I'm not worried about myself. I'm worried about you."

She turned to look into my eyes. "You don't have to worry about me. I can take care of myself. And of yourself."

Lexa gently took my face in her hands and then brushed my lips with hers. I smiled and also put a hand on her cheek.

"When do you want to leave?" She whispered. Her hand slipped under my legs and back, and before I could realize that, she was standing, holding me in the bridal style.

I looked down and she gently put me on the floor.

"Now?"

"Then let's go," she grinned and led me to our room.

We chose more comfortable clothes and she put her headpiece in some box. She packed a few things in a bag, including the box with the headpiece, and we got out of this tower. On the streets, every single person moved from us for a few meters. Some of them bowed before Lexa, some of them greeted her, shouting "HEDA". I also heard a few "WANHEDA"s. Like that, we made our way to the stable.

No one was there, so without much troubles, we rode away from Polis.

After a few hours, when it got darker we finally saw Arkadia. Lexa said that it would be better to walk there, so we get out of our horses, and with them, we started slowly walking to the gate.

"What do you want to do there?" Lexa asked, nodding at the camp.

"First of all, I definitely have to talk to my mom and Kane about A.L.I.E. If Murphy was right and Jaha is giving those chips to everyone they really have to something with that."

"Alright," Lexa smiled.

We were like ten or so meters away from the gate when we heard a car engine. And then the gate cracked. The car arrived from it, breaking it away. As the driver noticed us, he stopped.

"Jasper?" I fastly walked to the left side of the car.

He looked really desperate. And he sounded like that. "Clarke?!"

He opened the door from my side. "GET IN!"

"Wha- No. I need to talk to mom and-"

"GET IN!" He yelled once again.

As the shooting started, Lexa pushed me into the car and closed the door. She sat on the seat and I sat on her laps.

"What's going on?"

Jasper looked at me and then at a car. "You are the angel of death for sure!" He tried to start the car, but it answered only with some growls. "COME ON!"

I looked at the back of the car and saw Raven laying there. I checked if she had a pulse. She was alright. I saw a few men closer. They kept shooting.

One of them walked to the car and opened the back door.

"Klork!"

I moved and as he took Raven's leg, I kicked him in the chest. And the engine started.

"YES!" Jasper started driving away.

I looked at this group of people. And then I saw her.

On the front of it was standing the woman I knew so well.

"Mom," I whispered.

I almost fell out of the car, but someone caught me from behind and drag me into the car after closing the door.

"Mom."
