"Come on Captain, you'll help them right?"

Law looked back at the puppy dog eyes of his crew, a big annoyed scowl on his face. The stare off lasted for a good two minutes as the softies of the crew consisting of Shachi, Penguin, Bepo, and Shanna kept staring at him with those big googly eyes. 

Law pointed Kikoku at his crew. "We're pirates! We're not here to do charity!" he said.

"But Law, you're a doctor! Doctors save lives!" Shanna protested.

"Do you not have any sympathy for them??" Shachi asked.

"Captain don't be so cruel!" Bepo exclaimed.

"Please! Captain!!!!" Penguin begged. 

"Ngh-" Law cringed as the four of them pleaded to him.

"Pleaaaaaseeeee!" The pirate captain had no choice but to give in. "YAYYYY!"

Shanna immediately stepped up. She's always the one with the crazy ideas. "Okay, so while Law heals the civilians, Shachi, Penguin, you guys infiltrate into the Big Boss's mansion and kidnap him! Bepo, Jack, and the fighters, come with me to destroy that factory!"

"Hey, who said you get to be in charge?" Law demanded as he grabbed Shanna by the collar, pulling the girl towards him. 

"Ehehehe," Shanna laughed with a cheeky grin. She looked up at Law. Seeing her innocent smile, Law's eyes couldn't help but soften. "I can't?"

Law sighed. "Fine." 

"Yahoo!" the girl jumped. "Let's go!" She waved her hammer in the air, and the crew cheered. 

The island they arrived at was big, probably one of the biggest islands they've come across on the Grand Line. The country on this island is very advance in technology, and most of the workers here are factory workers, engineers, etc. However, there is no single ruler in this country. It is run by an oligarchy. The Big Bosses that own the factories essentially rule this country. However, for the sake of their profits, the Big Bosses decided to dump all chemical waste into the civilian's drinking water, causing the poor to lack clean drinking water.

Law stayed in the town they docked at, and used his devil fruit power to remove any of the chemicals inside the bodies of the citizens while he waited for his comrades to come back. It didn't take long for him and the civilians to notice a large explosion at the factories. From afar Law could see tiny figures jump out of the factory as it exploded. Those idiots......

The small little figures got bigger and bigger as they ran their way towards him. "YAHOO!" Shanna jumped up in the air, having the time of her life. "That was amazing!"

"Captain, Shanna-chan, we got the Big Boss!" Shachi and Penguin carried a large tied up man and dropped him down on the ground. Shanna had no idea which one of them stuffed his sock in the Big Boss's mouth but it smelled. 

"Where's the other three?" Shanna asked, holding her nose.

"You just said bring the Big Boss you didn't say which and you didn't say how many," Shachi reminded. 

"Oh...."

Law placed his hand on his face, shaking his head and sighing loudly. "This is why I always tell you to think things through before you act. You always do this, just charge in, blow things up, leave a big mess. Have you never heard of planning?" he asked Shanna. He raised his hand up, cupping her cheek with it. He brushed her hair out of her face, grazing his thumb over her cheek. "You're injured."

"It's just a scratch," Shanna said. Law glanced at the rest of the crew. There were a few scratches, bruises, burns, etc, but nothing major. 

"Go get yourselves patched up. We're leaving immediately."

"Aye aye!" the crew started for the ship.

"Captain what do we do with this guy?" Shachi pointed to the Big Boss.

"Ask your Vice Captain," Law glared at Shanna. 

"Uhhhhhh......" Clearly, the girl had no idea. "Get the other three?"

Law shook his head. "You already destroyed their only source of power, the factories that bring in the GDP. Without them they lose their power. There's no use in keeping them." 

"You mean we kidnapped him for nothing?" Penguin demanded.

"Basically." 

"AAAHHHHH!" The two men plopped down on the ground whining loudly. Shanna winced, and mouthed a 'sorry' at them. Law dragged Shanna away and towards the ship. 

"U-Um! Thank you!" a townsman ran towards them and shouted. "Thank you for helping us!"

"You don't need to thank us. We're pirates. We do what we want." Law waved as she and Shanna aboard the Polar Tang. He dragged the girl by the back collar. The girl grinned goofily as she enjoyed the attention she was receiving from her captain. He arrived at his office, where he keeps all the medical records, books, papers, and medicine. Law essentially lives in this office so there's also a long couch in the corner. 

Law threw Shanna on the small round rolling chair, causing her to spin and glide across the room. "What are you doing?" she asked when she noticed Law grabbing some things from the drawers. Law came out with a bottle and a long Q-tip. She watched as he dipped the tip of the Q-tip into the bottle.

"Don't move," Law said as he grabbed her chin, tilting her face upward. He brushed the Q-tip over the big scratch on her cheekbone. 

"Hss! It hurts," Shanna winced, pulling her face away.

Law grabbed her face again. "I said don't move!" He frowned at her. "I told you, don't underestimate these small wounds. You could get infected, and it'll leave a nasty scar."

"If I have a scar on my face, would you still marry me?" Shanna winked at him. Law smacked her on the head. "Ow!"

"I never said I'd marry you." Law placed a thin gauze over her cheek and secured it with medical tape. He turned to put the rubbing alcohol away. When he turned back around, he saw Shanna sitting in the corner mumbling to herself about something. Law smiled helplessly at the girl. She was probably just complaining again about how Law still treats her as a kid. 

"Are you just gonna sit here and mumble all day?" Law asked.

"Can I?" Her question took him by surprise. And after a few seconds he finally registered that she was asking about the 'sit here' part. 

"Uh, sure," Law replied. Shanna cheered a soft 'yes' and glided across the room and arrived by his desk. Law grabbed the book he's been reading the past few days about neurology, and sat down at his big chair. Shanna rested her head on the desk, beside him. Law noticed that she kept looking at him, a big goofy grin plastered on her face. He raised a brow and smiled. "What are you looking at?"

"You."

"What about me?" He raised a hand to his face, trying to see if there's anything on it. 

"You're handsome!" Shanna giggled. Law let out a light chuckle.

"If you think flattering me will make me marry you, then quit dreaming," he told her. The smile on his face didn't disappear however, for he seemed to quite enjoy her company. He gently ruffled her hair, and went back to reading his book. 

When Law is around Shanna, he is at ease. Although she can get a little annoying at times, he feels much more comfortable when she's around than when she's not. As he and Shanna sat in this room in silence, Law was somehow able to maintain a really good mood. 

He had no idea how much time had passed, but he was nearly finished with the book. Law put the book down to rest his eyes, and he looked down to see his vice captain sleeping soundly with her head on his desk. The corners of his lips tugged upward at the view, and Law carefully brushed her hair out of her face. 

He wondered when she grew out of her baby face. All of a sudden she became this brave, fierce, reckless teenager. So many things changed about her, but on the inside she's still the same kind hearted, sympathetic little girl who always reaches a helping hand out to those who need it. When Law is with her he couldn't help but be a good guy. They caused a lot of trouble here and there, but there were countless good deeds as well. 

Knock. Knock. "Captain, Shanna-chan, dinner's ready," Jack's voice called for them from outside the office.

"Coming," Law answered. He then placed his hand on Shanna's shoulder. "Shanna, wake up. Time to eat."

"Hm..." The girl hummed, but she didn't have any indication of waking up. Looks like she's still half dreaming. 

Law chuckled. "Shanna, wake up, or else Bepo's gonna eat all the food."

"Mn....my food...." Shanna muttered in her sleep. Law had no choice but to give her a harder shake. 

"Shanna." Shanna finally opened her eyes just a little. Her eyes were a little puffy from the sleep, and the hair under her cheeks made an indent in her skin. She sat up groggily, looking up at Law with her half open eyes. When she saw him, an ear to ear smile spread on her face.

"Law~" she cooed, raising her hands in the air. "Hug!"

Law's brows furrowed lightly. "You're not a kid anymore Shanna, stop acting like one."

"But Law~" she whined while protruding her lower lip into a pout. The man had no choice but to wrap his arms around her waist and helping the girl stand up. Shanna wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled at him lovingly. "I love you~" She said to him. Law froze. Shanna's face was millimeters away from his, and he could feel her breath on the tip of his nose. Shanna wrapped her legs around his waist and plopped her head right down on his neck. Law had no choice but to grab her from under her legs to support her as she passed out in his arms. 

Ba-dump. Ba-dump.

For some reason Law's heart started beating very fast. He could literally hear his heartbeat. What's going on? It's not the first time Shanna told him she loves him, but just now their face was so close. Although her eyes were opened only in a slit, and she was half asleep, the smile on her face was so beautiful Law forgot to breathe at that instant. 

Law gulped. The more he tried to convince himself to calm down the faster his heart sped. Holy shit when did her chest get so soft? He couldn't help but notice the two bouncy lumps of flesh pressing against him. T-This is normal right? I mean she's a growing girl in puberty, so this is normal biological reaction right? He started panicking a little on the inside. 

Law put Shanna down on the couch, and he covered her up with the blanket he normally uses. Law always thought Shanna was a pretty little girl, and he adored her since she was little. So this is normal right? He was just a little caught off guard, that's all. After all, it's not like Law has actually experienced relationship with the opposite sex before, so all is normal.....

Right?
