AUTHOR's POV

"Y/n-ah wake up!" Jimin yelled shaking Y/n's motionless body covered with blood lying on the stretcher in front of him.

"Jimin... calm down, we are almost there." His mom, sitting beside him tried to calm him down.

He was holding her hand tight and looking at her face which was slowly turning pale as the ambulance was getting closer to the hospital.

Finally, the ambulance came to a halt and they rushed her into the hospital's ER.

He was running while pushing the wheeled stretcher with the doctors who were checking up on her pulse and giving her emergency CPR.

"Y/N-ah! You have to wake up! You can't do this to me again!" He yelled as the nurse held him from running further into the check up room.

After walking to and fro the same place he finally crashed onto the nearest wall and leaned on it while staring at his hands covered with her blood. He slowly slid down and sat on the ground with his elbows on his knees and head hanging low.

He was trying his best to hold his tears back and have faith in the surgery.

"JIMIN-ah?" He heard someone call and shot up his head to find Aera in a distance.

She ran towards him and pulled him into her embrace and slowly Jimin broke down into tears.

"Aera-yah... What... what do I do?" He managed to speak while choking in his tears.

"It's alright, it'll be alright!" She said as she held him tight and creased his back while trying to be strong for him.

"Why does she have to do that?!" He kept repeating in between his sobs.

"Why doesn't she put herself first? Last time an abuse now a bullet?!" He spoke pulling away and thinking of all the worst instances that can happen.

"It's alright! It was her choice to do that! I'm sure she's gonna be fine!" She rubbed his shoulder trying her best to comfort him.

"What do you mean... I mean... how do you know? What if-"

"Shh.." She cut him off by pulling him closer to her again and giving him a warm hug to comfort him.

HOSEOK's POV

I was running past each one of the operation theaters after peeping in and out to see who is sitting outside when I suddenly paused as I saw two familiar figures.

It was Jimin and Aera. It looked like he was weeping hard and she was trying her best to comfort him. His clothes and hands were covered with bloodstains and his face was red like a tomato.

I decided to leave them alone and let him calm down. I was wandering around searching for Yoongi Hyung to ask how's her condition but halted when

"Ms Inha, we know even you are in shock but please speak! That's how we know what exactly happened." I heard a stern voice order from one of the emergency ward beds.

I got closer to the curtain and aggressively slid the curtain to the side.

I got to see a site of Inha sitting on one of the bed's edge with bandages wrapped around her leg and people who looked like cops question her.

And to my surprise, one of them was Jimin's mom.

"Oh... Hoseok-ah!" Ms Park greeted me as soon as she saw me.

"Hello, Ms Park... But what's happening here?" The site was very perplexing.

"Let's leave her alone for her to calm down." Ms Park whispered to the cop beside her to which he agreed.

She eyed me to talk to Inha before walking past us, leaving us alone.
I quietly took a seat beside her to which she did not bother to even glance at me.

"Inha... What happened? Who did this to you?" I calmly asked trying to talk to her.

She completely ignored me and proceeded to blankly stare at her cast plastered around her leg.

I called her name once again but she did not flitch an inch.

"Inha?! Can you tell me what the hell is going on?! Why on earth are cops questioning you?!" I squealed in a higher pitch to get her attention.

She was hanging her head low and suddenly started weeping.

"It's my fault." She finally spoke.

"What? It was your fault Y/n got shot?" My eyes widened as I was trying to understand.

I did not hear her reply instead, more and more tears started dripping down her face.

"Inha look at me! Tell me what happened!" She finally looked at me with bloodshot eyes.

"I shouldn't have untied her... I should have let her be and then helped her out after everything ended... that way she would have not been able to come between them..." She was hardly able to speak as her lips were quivering.

"What? You were there when it happened? But how did you get there?"

"I was the reason she went there..."

"What?"

"Sae Joon got a hold of my phone and told her to meet him there to come and receive my phone."

"Sae Joon got a hold of your phone?"

"Humm..." She nodded her head closing her eyes.

"Do you know Sae Joon? Is that what the cops asking you?" I squared near her.

"Sae Joon..." She took a deep breath. "It all started around the time Y/n had just moved in. I was out of our campus to get some work done when he approached me. He suddenly approached me asking if I knew Y/n and started introducing himself saying he was her uncle and stuff.
At first, I denied knowing her and got away from him cause he behaved like a creep.
When I was done and on the way back I saw him with two other dudes outside the campus staring at people as they passed by. I was going to ignore them but at the same time I saw Y/n walking towards where they were. So I went back to him and admitted I knew her to distract them. Few minutes into the conversation I found it strange how he knew a lot about her... like which course she was doing, where she used to live and I was her roommate. He then asked me to help him with something, something that had to do with Y/n. I was scared at first but I was curious that he knew so much about her So, I hesitantly agreed to help, because... I knew Y/n had a past with such things and I thought at least becoming friends with them and acting as if I'm on their side, I'll have an idea what they are planning to do. That way I can make sure Y/n is safe from those scary and intimidating psychopaths.
During the first few days, they were acting like friends and they used to call me once in a while for information but as time passed they started spamming my phone and or even calling me out of the campus in the middle of the night to have drinks or to play abusive games... and if I refused to join them they would sneak into our campus and knock at my window and spam my phone with messages and calls in the middle of the night... and that's not it, the following day they would beat me up for not accompanying them..." She spoke all of this in one breath as tears were continuously streaming out of her eyes.

"And.." I wanted to know more but I really could not believe my ears.

"And... remember once when you had invited me to have a sleep-over at your dorm and all the Oppas were home... I was in the kitchen getting some snacks when my sleeves slid down and Yoongi Oppa was quick to notice the bruises.
He started asking me about who did this to me and how I got them. I tried shrugging them off by saying I fell on the pavement while cycling... But he didn't seem to buy it. At that time anxiety took the best in me but to my relief he did not force me to answer. He calmly told me to contact him whenever I was comfortable talking about it... When they reached a limit and I couldn't bear it anymore... I contacted Oppa and told him about them... And to my surprise he told me Sae Joon was a criminal who had been hiding for years and his team was assigned to catch him... And it turned out this way..." I looked at her with a sight of uncertainty as she finished the story.

And only one question flashed on my mind.

"Why did you do it?" I asked eagerly wanting to know her reason to go through this hell.

She turned to meet my eyes and gave a weak smile before answering

"Because... Because she's precious to you."

My eyeballs almost popped out after hearing her reason.

"Because she was precious to me? That's it? That is your reason?"

"You know... I always felt culpable of what I had done to her out of jealousy in the past and how you reacted to it... That expression of yours has been eating me up for years, Deep down unknowingly I wanted to pay back to her somehow... I wanted to prove to you and people who hate me for the old me that I'm not the person I used to be. So, I thought if I bare with it I would feel less guilty when I'm with her." She wiped the tears off her face but the next second they were replaced by new ones.

"Inha..." I was still not able to process the whole thing.

"But... what the use of that... In the end, I messed up everything... again... No matter what good I try to do I end up being a bad person. I shouldn't have-" I pulled her arm harshly which led to our bodies crashing onto each other.

At first I felt her body stiff due to my sudden action but slowly she melted into the hug and I could feel her sob and wet my shoulder.

After a few minutes she stopped weeping and I pulled away from the hug.

"I don't know what to say to comfort you..." I held her neck. "but maybe this will help."

I smiled before leaning forward and quickly connecting our lips without hesitating even once.

I didn't know what else to do... It was the only thing that came to my mind.

After few minutes passed I pulled away and

"I really don't know what to say but... quit feeling sorry or inferior to me or others! Shit happens and that's how you learn to be a better person. So, don't talk about yourself like that.. it really huts me. Just be the way you are. And don't blame yourself for what happens, you did your best, besides if it was not Y/n, Jimin would've been the one to take the bullet. So, don't blame yourself." I replied still inches apart from her face.

JIMIN's POV

I was waiting outside the operation theatre with Aera when suddenly it hit me.

"But how do you know about Sae Joon?" I questioned her as it was weird how she knew what exactly happened.

"Actually..." She was clearly hesitating.

"What?" I told her to spit it out.

"When I was visiting mom, aunt was also home that day. I actually overheard their conversation but later got caught by aunt... So I had a reason." She admitted.

"What?! So, you and aunt knew all along? Only I was the one who had no clue about it?!" I barked at her.

"Even I got to know recently... I was figuring out how to tell you..." She murmured in a low voice.

"Yah?! Are you really my sister?! I really can't trust you anymore." I was frustrated how my own cousin was keeping things from me.

"I'm sorry... Aunt told me not to tell anyone about it." She apologized. I started sulking but a sudden hustle-bustle of doctors started inside the operation room, nurses started rushing in and out of her with bags of blood.

I got up and tried to ask them what happened but they ignored me as they were in a hurry.

Mom hurriedly walked towards us and
"They are running out of blood, Let's get you guys tested as well!" Mom said pulling us towards the blood donation room.

It looked like Yoongi Hyung, Hoseok Hyung and Inha had already got tested and only we two were remaining. As I took a seat, the nurse put a tight band over my hand before injecting a needle into my skin, as it went in a red liquid gradually filling up the syringe.

"We contacted Mr. Lee, he's on the plane to Korea right now." Yoongi Hying whispered to me as we were waiting for the result outside the room.

~

I was laying on the bed next to hers with a hospital gown on, as it turned out I was the closest blood match for her.

The needle which was pierced down my arm was connected to the machine* placed between our beds. It let out another tube that was attached to a needle that pierced down her arm.

(Machine used for Blood transfusion*)

The thought of having to see her dad again was giving me sad and bad vibes, because the last time I met him he took her away.

I was scared of what was waiting for me this time.

Since I was staring at her pale face from the moment I laid down on the bed beside hers, I got the answer to the question that I have had on my mind for years.

I always wandered if what I was expecting to happen was real and worth waiting for or is it even worth holding when there seemed a huge possibly it won't work out.

But now, I finally found my answer- When someone makes you the happiest and the saddest at the same time, that's when you know it's real. That's when it's worth something.

A sudden pulling sting bought me back to reality, The machine* had started drawing blood from my arm and started draining the energy left in me as well.

Eventually, even I blacked out thinking it may be real and worth it but I was no more sure about anything because the circumstances and people around should be on our side to have it to work out.
