chapter three
surprise.
Christina finished wrapping Seth's shoulder, as Bella and Edward kept apologizing to the young wolf. Annie was sitting on his side, worriedly watching her mother wrap his injury. Carlisle was holding Greyson behind his wife, watching her nurse Seth. Greyson kept reaching out towards Christina, with a small whine in the back of his throat.
"Alright, Seth," Christina said as she put Carlisle's medical supplies back in his bag. "Just take it easy for a couple of hours. You'll be okay."
"Sorry, sorry!" Bella exploded, since neither Seth or Edward would let her get a full apology out.
Seth patted Bella's knee, the same time Christina grabbed Greyson out of Carlisle's arms. "It's okay, Bella. Promise."
Greyson patted his mother's neck before reaching his hand out towards Seth. Christina furrowed her brows before stepping closer to the wolf. Greyson reached towards Seth more, and the wolf grabbed him in response.
Greyson snuggled into Seth's warmth and landed his right hand on his injured shoulder. Carlisle and Christina watched, confused.
"Huh," Seth mumbled as Greyson reached back towards his mother. Christina grabbed him slowly. "He healed me." Seth rolled his wrapped shoulder, testing it.
Christina looked down at her son in surprise as Carlisle moved to check it out. Even Edward and Bella stopped their quiet conversation to pay attention. Edward hummed with a nod, looking down at Greyson.
"He's very pleased with himself," Edward chuckled.
"It is healed," Carlisle nodded, undoing Seth's wraps, making Christina deadpan towards her son.
"You're telling me I wrapped him for nothing?" she asked, Greyson giggling in response. "Funny."
"I guess it makes sense," Bella muttered, stepping closer to Greyson. She rubbed her finger against his smiling cheek. "Renesmee's gift is a product of Edward's—being able to project her thoughts. Greyson's gift is a product of yours— being able to heal."
"How ironic that two doctors give birth to a healer," Christina joked, agreeing with Bella.
"Incredible," Carlisle muttered.
"So, Seth is okay now?" Annie asked, looking between everyone.
Seth nodded his head with a grin. He placed his hand in her hair, and rubbed it lightly. "I'm alright, Annie."
She smiled back at him.
"I would still recommend getting some sleep," Christina ordered lightly. "Before you relieve Leah from patrol."
Seth nodded his head as he stretched out on the couch, after Annie jumped off to give him some room. "Will do, Nina."
"Come on, Annie." Christina placed her hand on her daughter's head. "Let's go play outside."
"Okay!"

Bella cradled her new daughter in her arms, watching her sleep soundlessly. Greyson was in Rosalie's arms in the corner, while Annie slept upstairs. Edward was reading through a book on the love seat, barely paying attention to Jacob's snoring next to him. The rest of the family went out for a hunt.
Bella looked up from her daughter's face as she heard running through the woods. The first to show up was Alice and Jasper. They were running hand and hand, jumping over the river gracefully. Jasper twirled Alice around as they settled down to a walk towards the house.
Emmett came barreling out next, coming just short of jumping the river, as he landed with a splash. Christina's scream came from behind him as she got hit with the backsplash. She narrowed her eyes towards Emmett's laughing form, before taking off back into the trees to chase him down. Carlisle was walking towards the house shaking his head with a smile gracing his face.
Just as Emmett started running towards the house, Christina tackled him to the ground— and they both went tumbling.
"A bunch of children," Rosalie snipped behind her, but even she had a lingering smile on her face from their childish games.
Christina patted Emmett's head before catching up with Carlisle, jumping on to his back as he reached the stairs.
"Someone's in a good mood," Bella commented, turning around as they came up the stairs.
Edward chuckled, but nodded his head as he read their minds.
Alice danced over to Bella with a grand smile. "Happy birthday!"
Bella immediately started shaking her head. "Uh, no, no. I stopped aging three days ago."
Alice sighed, knowing that Bella was going to put up a fuss. "Whatever. We'll celebrating anyway, so suck it up." Bella sighed, finally agreeing; knowing it was an already lost fight. Alice's grin grew. "Are you ready to open your present?"
Bella nodded her head again. "I hate surprises."
"You'll like this one." Christina gave her a wink as she grabbed Renesmee out of Bella's arms. "Aunty's turn."
"Where does she usually sleep?" Bella asked, watching her sister sit down on the couch.
"In Rose's arms. Or Jacob's. Or Chris's— you get the picture," Alice explained. "She's never been set down in her entire life. She's going to be the most spoiled half-vampire in existence."
"What about Greyson?" Bella questioned, looking over at her nephew in Carlisle's arms.
"His cradle is in Annie's room," Christina answered. "Though, I wouldn't object to holding him all night."
Alice shoved a key into Bella's hand before grabbing her arm. "Come on, let's go!"
Edward cracked a smile as he followed the two girls towards the back door.
"Have fun," Christina chuckled as they left the room.
"Speaking of bed," Carlisle muttered, a grin on his face as he looked down at his son. He was fast asleep cradled in his arms, a peaceful expression on his face.
Christina grinned as she watched Carlisle leave the room to go put Greyson to bed. She hummed as she looked down as the, now awake, Renesmee. The little girl patted her neck, imagines running through Christina's mind all leading up to two demands. Bella, and blood.
"Rose," Christina called. The blonde was quick to come forwards and grab Renesmee out of Christina's arms. "She's hungry."
Christina got up from the couch and made her way upstairs. She excitedly went towards the bathroom to start the tub. As she watched the tub fill up, Carlisle came into the room with a chuckle. She looked up at him with amused eyes. "What?"
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you love that tub more than me," he joked.
She narrowed her eyes jokingly towards him. "Funny." She shut off the water before walking towards him, wrapping her arms lightly around his waist. "Wanna join me?"
Carlisle landed a sweet kiss on her forehead, mumbling against her soothe skin, "sure."

"How do you think Bella and Edward are liking their gift?" Christina asked, leaning her head against Carlisle's chest as she glanced back at him.
"I'm sure she loves it," he murmured. He kissed her shoulder sweetly, making the fire start up in her stomach.
She hummed back. She stared at they conjoined hands as a frown found it's way to her lips. "I'm going to miss this place."
"We'll visit," he promised, pulling her closer in the tub to hug her.
"Yeah," she mumbled back.
"I promise," he muttered against her skin. "I wouldn't want to take Annie away from her grandfather."
She frowned deepened. "Hopefully, Greyson and Renesmee's growing slows enough for them to also meet their grandparents." A smile twitched on her face. "I know Dad would love to finally have another boy in the family."
Carlisle chuckled, but he nodded his head.
Christina turned around in the cool water, and straddled Carlisle's legs. She leaned her hands against the tub behind his back, trapping him.
"I want to thank you, again," she whispered. She leaned forward and kissed his cheek softly. "For giving me this life." She moved onto the next cheek. "For helping me bring Greyson into this world." She moved to his nose. "For loving me." She rested her lips against his. "For being you—"
She didn't get to finish, as Carlisle brought his lips to hers with a growl deep in his throat. It wasn't a predatory growl, but one that was wanting. The fire erupted in her stomach as he deepened the kiss; licking the fire in her stomach as his tongue entered her mouth.
In a blink of an eye, they moved their position out of the bathroom and into their bed— not caring about the fact that either of them are still wet from their previous bath.

"How'd your like your present?" Christina asked as Bella sped into the room.
The young girl picked up her daughter from the ground, her red eyes looking up and down her daughter, noticing the slight changes from the previous day. Carlisle had already did Renesmee and Greyson's measurements when both babies woke up. Renesmee grew five more inches, and her hair was a little longer, showing the golden curls on top of her head. Greyson only grew two more inches, still being the smallest out of both of them.
"I love it," Bella answered, a smile gracing her features. "It's beautiful."
Renesmee patted Bella's cheek and she winced in response. Edward moved around Bella and their daughter to walk into the kitchen.
"'Make that two," Christina called out as Greyson crawled over towards her. A small lifted on her cheeks as she picked him up off the ground. He immediately snuggled into her chest with a sigh.
"How long have they been up?" Bella asked.
"Just a few minutes," Rosalie answered. "We would have called you soon. She's been asking for you."
"Demanding might be a better description," Christina chuckled.
Small footsteps moved slowly down the stairs, following lighter steps. Carlisle nodded his head with a smile in greeting as he stood next to Christina's chair. Annie yawned as she moved next to her mother, leaning her head on her shoulder; tired from just waking up.
"We didn't want to... er, bother you," Rosalie continued, a light smirk rested on her face. She bit her lip as her husband silently laughed from behind Bella.
Bella didn't take the bite as she lifted her chin at their teasing. "We'll get your room set up right away. You'll like the cottage. It's magical."
Emmett's booming laughter sounded through the room. Christina rolled her eyes at his childish games.
"So, it's still standing?" He managed to speak between his laughter. "I would've thought you two had knocked it to rubble by now. What were you doing last night? Discussing the national debt?"
Bella clenched her teeth, trying to remain calm from Emmett's teasing.
"Not everyone is as destructive as you, Emmett," Christina teased back.
"Where're the wolves today?" Bella asked, changing the subject from her late night activities.
"Jacob took off this morning pretty early," Rosalie answered, sniffing her nose in disgust. "Seth followed him out."
"What was he so upset about?" Edward asked, a crease forming on his forehead as he read Rosalie's thoughts. He carried both bottles for the babies in either hand.
Christina handed Greyson off to Carlisle to feed, not trusting the smell of fresh blood right next to her daughter. He easily stepped back into the corner of the room as he fed their son. Christina easily held her breath as she focused on Annie and Greyson's heartbeats instead of the lingering scent of blood that reached her nose.
"I don't know— or care," Rosalie grumbled as she grabbed Renesmee out of Bella's hands to feed her; Bella being in the same position as Christina with the fresh blood.
"He was watching Renesmee sleep," Christina answered for Edward's question. "He just jumped to his feet without any sort of trigger. And stormed out with Seth following behind him. He didn't mutter a word to anyone about where he was going."
"I'm glad to be rid of them," Rosalie huffed. "The more time they spend here, the less chance there is that we'll ever get the smell out."
"Rose," Carlisle chided, making her flip her blonde hair over her shoulder.
"I suppose it doesn't matter. We won't be here much longer."
"I still say we go straight to New Hampshire to set things up," Emmett mentioned. "Bella's already registered at Dartmouth. Doesn't look like it will take her all that long to be able to handle school." He faced Bella with a teasing grin. "I'm sure you'll ace your classes... apparently there's nothing interesting for you to do besides study."
Bella clenched her fists at her sides, trying to keep her anger in check while Edward let out a warning growl, cutting off Emmett and Rosalie's laughter.
"Emmett, grow up," Christina sighed, running her fingers through her daughter's hair. "There are children around."
Alice ran into the living room, Jasper following after her. A deep ripping sound came out of the small pixie, not matching the appearance she maintained. "What is he doing? What is that dog doing that has erased my schedule for the entire day? I can't see anything, no!"
Edward's growl grew as he clenched his fists to his sides. "He talked to Charlie. He thinks Charlie is following after him. Coming here. Today."
"Shit," Alice growled out before disappearing from view. Jasper stayed in the corner of the room, with his arms over his chest, glaring at the ground as Edward's words settled around everyone.
"He did, what?" Christina snapped, standing up from the couch, being careful of Annie besides her. "I'm going to kill that fuc—"
"He told Charlie?" Bella interrupted, feeling her chest start to tighten in anxiety. "But— doesn't he understand? How could he do this? Charlie can't know about us!"
"Jacob's on his way in now," Edward said through clenched teeth.
Christina snarled as they listened to his footsteps, and Seth's, climbing the stairs. The mother started pacing, like a predator waiting for it's prey as Jacob made his face known.
"Hey, guys," Jacob greeted, a smile resting on his face, not realizing the rising tension in the room.
Christina snarled once more as she pushed Jacob against the wall, breaking his smile. "What have you done?"

I get Jacob's concern, but holy shit did he fuck up by doing this. Though, he is only sixteen so I mean... who doesn't make dumb mistakes when they're that young. I know I did.
