You were always afraid of the dark. It was mostly because you didn't know what was coming for you. All the time you were targeted for the crimes you've done, but hey, you were a pirate. Nothing could change that. Being a part of the Whitebeard pirates made it even hard for you to just walk around a city without someone pointing you out.
The best parts of the night was whenever Ace came. He would go into your bed, open the blanket, before curling into the bed sheets. You would pretend you didn't notice, smiling as you would sneakily cuddle into his arms with a small smile. He'd notice, and he loved it. Ace loved your fresh smell of lavender. Lavender scented everything that Whitebeard demanded he get in dock every two weeks just for you. Just for you.
But tonight was different. You woke up from a nightmare, breathing heavily. Your eyes searched around the room to see that person, but no one was there. Your body fell back on the bed heavily, sighing in relief. Sweat covered your face and neck, you were totally in too deep. That terrible dream you had was of the war you suffered through. Somewhere where you'd never like to step foot again. Yet you saw Luffy, and you smiled. At least he was in your dream. It felt good to have someone you love near your heart.

"(y/n)? You okay?" You looked from your bed to the door to see Luffy, looking at you with worried eyes.
"Yes...yes I am. Thank you for caring. You go back to sleep, you probably have a big day tomorrow." You replied in a sweet voice. Luffy nodded his head gently before walking over to you.
His body was at the side of your bed, and he leaned down. Your eyes searched for answers, something you could read...but you saw nothing. What was he going to do? What's happening? Luffy leant down and kissed your forehead. He smiled and walked out of the door, but you could've sworn you saw Ace instead. Turning on your side, you looked at the empty space you always left on the bed, for almost four years now.
"Ace? Was that you? Or did you tell Luffy something pretty special?" You laughed, "I miss you Ace. A lot. Why did you have to leave? Can't you take me with you? But I'm going to live. And...as you told me...I'm going to fall asleep and in love again. I just think a lot of things are happening through every night. Without you." You whispered, tears fall down your cheeks.
"A lot of things are happening through tonight,especially." You heard someone whisper, and you could've sworn the voice sounded almost like Ace's.
