Less than five years ago I was a popular high school athlete.

Now I was a spy.

A tail.

I didn't want to end up this way.

A criminal.

For no reason.

However,

there was nothing scarier than being alone in a room with two of the richest people on the planet.

And I was going to cause a storm between them.

Summer and Rex continuously argued for hours.

I just stood there.

for a while.

Until I got annoyed.

this was pointless,

I needed to go find Bronwyn.

So I walked over to the door,

but when I put my hand on the knob,

Rex's strong hand swiftly caught onto my wrist.

"Where do you think you're going, son?" He asks.

Summer gets up.

"Dad. Let him go. Now." She commands.

He doesn't listen.

His strong grip stopped my movement.

His ice blue eyes stared into mine.

And I think I knew what was happening.

He was going to tell her.

And I couldn't let him.

It would break her heart.

"Rex. Please." I begged.

Summer walked closer to us and studied our facial expressions.

She looked puzzled.

"are you going to tell her or should I?" He asks.

I shake my head.

Tears fill my eyes.

"No, no. Please." I ask.

He ignored it.

I waited for the torture to come.

I waited for another friendship to end.

I sighed and crossed my arms.

"Well? What is it?" Summer asks again.

"You really don't know much about your dear friend Cooper Clay, my daughter." Rex says.

"What? What are you talking about?" Summer asks in response.

"Summer, I'm sorry." I said.

Rex rolls his eyes.

Summer itches her arm nervously.

"Mr. Clay here has been a tail on you and your dear fiancé for quite some time now. And for a lot of money, might I add." Rex says.

Summer gasps.

Then all I see is anger.

Not sadness.

Just anger.

"Summer-" I began.

"Get out, Cooper. Get out before I lose my temper." She says.

I nod and leave the room.

I didn't know what was going to happen now.

But all I knew was that it wasn't going to be sunshine and rainbows.

I sighed and thought of what to do next.

There was only one thing I could do.

So I got in an uber and drove over.

Then I came inside.

I went over to one of the cops.

"Please, I know I escaped, but please let me see Adelaide Prentiss." I begged.

The cop studied my facial expression.

I didn't know what he was going to do.

"Cooper Clay. What a pleasant surprise." He says.

Then a pause.

He was choosing his next words.

"Cooper." He says.

"Yes?"

"Your charges were dropped."

I gasped.

"What? By who?" I asked.

"Summer Scott. Now come with me, you wanted to see Ms. Prentiss?" He asks.

I was so shocked.

I thought she hated me.

I nodded and followed the police officer down the station.

Then he led me inside.

On the other side of the glass.

He told me to sit down and grab the phone while a cop got Addy.

Then she came.

She sat down and stared.

For a while.

"Well, look what we've got here. Cooper Clay, on the other side of the glass."
