There's always something blocking you from what you need.

Always.

How to get rid of it?

Well,

that's a mystery to most.

How I will get rid of it?

Don't know yet.

So,

I guess I'm like most people.

You wouldn't expect someone like me to be in jail,

right?

Right.

Why am I in jail?

Because I am.

Did I do it?

That's a question that will remain a mystery.

But I'm not who I was three years ago.

I'm not fragile.

I'm not weak.

I'm not the beauty.

Or,

at least,

not anymore.

I never expected myself to be here.

But,

you never really expect where you end up.

Right now my focus wasn't on getting out of here.

It was making Jake pay.

He didn't answer me.

He just laughed at me.

But,

this time,

I wasn't going to let it slide.

I wasn't the same anymore.

I didn't let Jake get to me.

Maybe he might be my cellmate,

but he was no match for new Addy.

"There is no way little-miss-princess here burnt down that club, now is there?" Jake asks.

I didn't answer him.

or pay him any attention.

I just stood against the cold bars.

He sat on the bed across the cell.

I watched the other inmates and guards pass by.

No one seemed real to me.

Nothing did,

really.

So I waited.

And I waited a long time.

What for?

That I don't know.

Then a guard approached our cell.

"Inmate Prentiss, you have a visitor." He said.

What?

Who could possibly want to see me right now?

"Okay." I answered.

The guard opened the cell door and I followed him away.

We crossed many paths and new inmates.

He finally led me to an empty room.

I sat down on the stool behind the glass and picked up the phone,

waiting for someone to show up.

But that someone,

was not who I expected.

He was just the same as before.

Tall,

brooding,

handsome,

and even had the same scent.

He sat down and picked up the phone.

I put my hand on the glass.

"There's no way-" I began. "TJ?!"

"Hey, Addy."

Tears formed in my eyes.

I never expected to see him again.

At least,

not like this.

"TJ, why are you here?" I ask.

He sighs and hesitates.

He was obviously sent by someone.

But,

who was it?

"Look, Addy. Bronwyn sent me." He answers.

It was almost as if he knew what I was thinking.

"Bronwyn? Why?" I ask.

"I know you didn't burn down that club, Addy. But I think I know who did."

"What? What are you talking about? Of course I b-"

"No. The truth, Addy. The truth, please." He begs.

I look down at the ground.

I put the phone down and got up for a second.

I paced back and forth for a little,

trying to collect my thoughts.

There's no way-

It wasn't possible.

I sat back down and picked up the phone once again.

"What- what happened?" I ask in confusion.

"Bronwyn went back to the scene. She found a symbol on a room key."

It was all adding up.

All making sense.

"Show it to me." I say, preparing my mind for the worst.

He takes out a notepad and a pen.

He begins sketching on the paper slowly.

I watched his eyes scan the paper back and forth as he drew.

He didn't know how to tell me this,

and he was trying to take as long as possible to draw this symbol.

Then it was done.

He held it up to the glass and I leaned forward.

"No-" I began.

"Inmate Prentiss, your time is up." The guard behind me called out.

"no!" I exclaim.

My mind was filling up,

like water.

Higher and higher.

And it was about to spill.

I know what happened.

It all made sense.

But I didn't know what to do.

The guard grabbed my arm and pulled me up.

TJ stood up and put his hands up against the glass.

The phone fell from his hands and onto the desk.

He banged on the glass.

"No! You can't take me back! No!" I yelled at the guard.

He didn't listen.

He started to pull me away,

but I couldn't let him.

I tried to smuggle my way out,

but it was no use.

So all I could do was say,

"YOU CAN'T, SIR! YOU NEED TO LET ME GO, I'VE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE!"
