Alex POV:

I'm not fine. My ankle hurts, and my head hurts. I probably sprained, or worse, fractured my ankle. And I probably have a concussion. I just can't tell Kara this. She'd focus all her energy on me, when she should focus it on herself.

"Agent Danvers, I need you to lie down if I'm going to examen you." Dr. Hernandez says.

"I'm fine! I need to go see Kara."

"She's fine. I promise, now lie down."

I eventually agree and lie down. The moment Dr. Hernandez touches my ankle I squeeze my eyes shut, as if that would help the pain disappear. It's excruciating.

"Does anything hurt Agent Danvers?"

"Nope, I'm perfectly fine."

"Alright then, you can go see your sister. Although, please ice your ankle tonight, it's slightly swollen."

"Sure thing. Thanks."

Rookie mistake. That's the first lesson you learn at the DEO. Never believe me when I say I'm fine.

"Kara?" I whisper when I walk (well limp) into her room.

"Alex? Are you okay?" She asks slowly sitting up.

"Yeah, I'm okay. How about you, what's wrong?"

"I'm just really cold."

I slowly limp over to her and carefully place my hand on her forehead and immediately pull it back.

"Kara, you're burning up. You have a fever."

"What? No... Alex I'm freezing. Are you sure you didn't hit your head?"

"No, Kara, listen to me. You have a fever. I know you feel cold, but those are called chills."

"I hate this. I hate every piece of this."

"I know, I know you do. Just lie back down, I'll see if J'onn will let us go back home, alright?"

She slowly nods her head as she curls back up underneath the mountain of blankets. My face falls when I notice that she's still shivering despite all the blankets. Her fever must be really high.

"J'onn! Kara has developed a fever..."

"How high?"

"Pretty high I believe. I couldn't find a thermometer."

"Alright. If it's above 104 I'll need you two to stay here until I can get her fever down."

"Thank you."

I walk back to Kara's room only to find her completely covered by the blankets. I silently limp over to her bed and gently rub her shoulder. She moans slightly before uncovering her face just enough so I could only see her eyes. I notice beads of sweat on her forehead, yet she's still shivering.

"Hey, Kara, J'onn is gonna come in and check your fever, alright?"

"M'kay. Lexie? Can we go home?"

"J'onn said that if your fever is below 104 we can go home, alright?"

She slowly nods her head before closing her eyes once again. I sit on the edge of the solar bed and rub her back gently. Soon enough I notice J'onn walking in, thermometer in hand.

"How're you doing Supergirl?" J'onn asks as he walks up to Kara's side.

Kara just moans in response and pulls the blankets farther up. I continue rubbing her back as I look at J'onn worriedly. J'onn silently nods and slowly pulls the blankets back to reveal Kara's pale face. She glares at him but eventually looks at me. I notice the obvious pain and hurt in her eyes. I silently brush the hair back from her forehead as J'onn puts the thermometer in her mouth. When it beeps he takes it out and grimaces at the number on the screen.

"J'onn, what is it?"

"103.5"

"I... I can go home, right?" Kara mutters.

"I did promise that, didn't I? I guess as long as Alex takes care of you."

"Of course I will. You ready?" I ask as I run my fingers through Kara's long blonde hair.

She slowly nods her head  and sits up slowly, still wrapped in the blankets.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Alright, let's get you into bed." I say as I help Kara into her apartment.
She gratefully falls into bed and immediately closes her eyes. I brush some strands of hair out of her face before pulling the blankets over her. She instinctively curls into them and falls into a deeper sleep.
I walk back into her living room and sit down on the couch. I pull off my shoe and notice that Dr. Hernandez was right, my ankle is swollen. I carefully stand up and limp into the kitchen. I grab an ice pack before returning to the couch. I prop my leg up on her coffee table and place the ice on it. I lean back into the couch and close my eyes. But as soon as I close my eyes I notice that my head is hurting even worse. I moan and open my eyes back up. I have a concussion, this is great.
As I'm about to try and sleep I hear my phone buzz. I quickly grab it and notice I have a text from my mother. Oh no.
Mom- Hey sweetie! How are my girls doing? I was thinking of maybe driving in this weekend to see you guys?
Me- Oh, well, that would be great but... Kara blew out her powers and is sick. I don't want you to get sick before your big lecture next week.
Mom- what?! I can reschedule that! I'll leave tonight! Let Kara know I'm on my way and I'm bringing potstickers!
Me- no, mom, you don't have to do this. I can take care of her, I promise.
Mom- Honey! She's my daughter to! It's a mother's job to take care of their children when their sick!
Me- fine but you know she won't be happy about this, right?
Mom- she needs her mother right now. She's got to be scared out of her mind.
Me- Maybe she is but this isn't her first solar flare
Mom- and you didn't call me last time :(
Me- omg That again?!
Mom- I'm sorry but it's true
Ugh. She never drops that. She was so angry when she found out that Kara had blown out her powers. I put my phone away and attempt to fall asleep again. Although before I get comfortable I hear someone walking into the living room.
"Alex?! You told me you were fine!" I hear Kara ask shocked.
