Kristina got up early the next morning with a wide grin on her face. She took a quick bath, got dressed and went downstairs to have breakfast. "Good morning mom!" she said cheerfully.
Lizzy stopped and stared at her daughter happily eating her stack of pancakes. Was this girl in a good mood? She questioned herself. "Honey? Are you okay?"
"I'm great!" she exclaimed. Her feet tingled with excitement. Finally. Finally, Today was going to be awesome. Daniel was going to be her pet starting today. After that incident last night, they were surprised to see Daniella and Ella scream and laugh hysterically on the floor after she told Daniel to be her pet for the entire school year.
After getting busted, they both ran outside. Kristopher stared at them blankly and then went out and followed the two crazy girls. Ella told Lizzy about all of these, and she took an immediate liking to Daniella. These three were going to get along perfectly.
"I see," Lizzy laughed. "Well, Daniel should be arriving any--"
The doorbell rang, interrupting Lizzy's speech. "Oh. He's here. I'll go get it."
"No mom!" Kristina stopped her. Her mother peered over her shoulder and asked, "Why?"
Kristina grinned. "He'll come in himself."
True enough, a few seconds later, Daniel entered the dining room wearing a slightly cautious face. Lizzy smiled and left the kids alone knowing that Kristina was looking forward to this. "Good morning."
"Good morning, Scooby!"
Daniel narrowed his eyes. "Scooby?"
"Yes. From now on, you're Scooby, the dog. MY dog. You'll fetch if I say so, sit if I say so, and play dead if I say so. Or even, just die, if I say so." She said.
He groaned inside his head. He immediately regretted what he said last night. After thinking about it, he thought he looked like a loser. He said all those things to her. He thought it was lame. Why was he so afraid of her getting angry at him? Of course, he was used to it, but last night was different.
"Sure," he sighed.
"And!" she added enthusiastically. "You should act exactly like a dog whenever you see me or Ella! You should also bark and stick your tongue out and whatever it is dogs do."
"..." Daniel was speechless. She was too excited about this. He decided to crush Daniella's face later. He wasn't one to break his promises, so he nodded his head at Kristina's demands.
After eating, Kristina took her bag and threw it at Daniel. "You carry it. Mom! We're leaving!"
"Bye Aunt Lizzy," Daniel muttered. Elizabeth sprinted down the stairs and bid them both good bye. After they left, she immediately texted Ella.
| Danny's really acting like her pet! So cute!
| Really?!
She dreamily sighed and went back to her chores. Outside the house, Kristina halted in front of Daniel's car. "Wait!"
"What?" he asked, still holding her bag. She quickly walked towards him and unzipped her bag. She took something inside that made Daniel's face drain in color.
"You're not serious..."
"Oh I am," she grinned wickedly. She stretched the green dog-collar in front of his face and couldn't help chuckling. "Hold still, Scooby."
Daniel silently groaned. She put the collar around his neck and smiled at his ridiculous face. "I can't wait till Ella sees this."
"I can see her reaction right now," he mumbled under his breath.
"Okay, let's go to school now!"
"Fine," he grumbled. He was definitely going to get humiliated later, but somehow, it strangely didn't bother him. In fact, he actually felt... excited. A mischievous idea struck his mind. She wasn't going to be the only one who's going to have fun later. Bless the innocent girl for being too naive.
At school, everyone stared at Kristina practically glowing upon walking to her classroom with Daniel trailing behind her, still wearing that outlandish green collar. When they entered their classroom, they immediately spotted Daniella and Ella chatting beside the window. They immediately sensed the couple as well, so they shot their looks towards them.
"Hi!" she made a wide smile at them. They gave her wider grins in turn as they saw the helpless boy behind her. Kristina approached the two. Daniella giggled at Daniel.
"Tina!" she said. "Thank you so much for inviting me last night. I had so much fun!"
Kristina wasn't sure whether to like her or hate her. Even though Daniel already made up for it (it wasn't even his fault in the first place, but she didn't know that), what happened last night still happened. She was curious if Daniella really did kiss him or not.
"N-No problem..." she replied, unsure. "Oh yeah!" she remembered. She signed Daniel to come forward and he reluctatly did as she commanded. "Scooby, greet my friends!"
He stared at her questionably, she stared back with a glare. He sighed, "Hello, master's friends."
"Nuh-uh-uh!" she scolded. "Not like that. Dogs don't talk, remember? Now do it properly."
"Properly she says," Daniel groaned. He made another sigh, he was so gonna regret doing this. He raised his hands on the level of his chest as if they were paws, stuck out his tongue and gave the two girls a cheerful smile. "Woof! Woof!"
The whole class stopped and stared at them, and then burst out laughing. Daniel snickered in his head. What he did was stupid, but at least it earned a couple of laughs. Ella patted Kristina's back and pretended to wipe an invisible tear from her eye. "Tina, I'm so proud of you! I commend your powers!" she sniffed.
"Aaaw Danny that's so adorable!!!" Daniella squealed. Daniel shot her death-glare and she read what he meant through his eyes: you're dead. She just giggled mischievously.
During class, Ms. Stanford, their homeroom teacher, asked why Daniel was wearing that ridiculous collar. He pointed at Kristina and she smiled nervously at their teacher. Ms. Stanford just sighed at their childishness but felt amused.
"Kristina, who's absent today?" she asked, checking her record book.
"Kristopher Walls isn't here today ma'am," she replied. Daniel and Daniella instantly got suspicious. Did he perhaps had another shooting? Or, was it about last night? Ella learned about the incident from Daniella, but she explained that it was for Kristina to realize her real feelings. She peered over her desk and saw Daniella pretending to write on her notebook, as if she didn't care that Kristopher was absent.
Back at the Walls residence, Kristopher was snoring on his pillow. He intended to be absent today and sleep the whole day, hoping to forget what he saw last night. Too bad that won't work. He tossed and turned on his bed and mumbled, "Annie..."
The bell rang, morning period was over, and now it was lunch break. "Scooby, carry mine and Ella and Anne's bags and lunches to the rooftop."
Daniel silently did as she told without complaint. He will get her for this. She's gonna get herself disappointed if her plan backfires, since Daniel already had something in mind again.
After arriving in the rooftop, the three girls sat at the spot where Ella and Kristina always hung out at. They opened their lunchboxes and began eating. Kristina pitied Daniel so she told him that it was okay for him to eat his lunch like a human.
"Gee," he said. "Thanks for the consideration."
"What did I tell you?" she scolded. "Animals don't talk. Bad Scooby!"
The girls laughed and continued to eat. After that, they still had a few more minutes until classes resume, so they decided to relax on the rooftop. Daniella decided to play along with this little game. "Scoobs!" she made clicking noises with her tongue as she patted her lap, mocking Daniel. "Scoobs! Scooby Dooby Doo! Come, come!"
Daniel growled out of irritation. This was getting ridiculous. Why wasn't he allowed to talk? Ella and Daniella laughed at his response. "Wow you really do act like a dog!"
"I'm a good trainer," Kristina snorted. She called Daniel and told him to follow her commands. She wanted to show the girls her power over him, she had so much fun doing this. Revenge was too sweet.
"Fetch!" she threw her pencil away and Daniel got it back for her. He didn't run like a dog like she wanted, he ran normally but since he fetched it anyway, it was alright. The two girls laughed and clapped their hands as Kristina gave him a treat-- or a small piece of chewable fruit candy.
Next, she commanded him to sit like a dog, and he did. The girls clapped their hands again, Kristina grinned and that added to Daniel's irritation. "Okay next, roll over!"
"But he'll get dirty!" Ella and Daniella said in unison.
"I don't care! He deserves this!"
Daniel reluctantly sat on the ground beside Kristina and sighed. The three girls waited anxiously for him to obey her command. They weren't sure whether he'd have enough guts or not. It was his fault for agreeing to Kristina. He laid his back on the ground and rolled twice.
Kristina and the girls burst our laughing. Ella and Daniella were laughing so hard that no noise came out, so they clapped their hands like retarded seals. Kristina too. A bit fed up, Daniel casually sat up right next to his fiancee and dusted his shirt.
He looked at her face, she was still laughing, until he leaned closer and licked her lips, she shut up immediately, and so did the two girls. She stared at him in surprise.
The right side of his mouth curled up into a mischievous smirk. "Woof."
