A month passed from the second task and Cedric invited me on a dinner date at the Three Broomsticks. I got ready and walked down the stairs to meet Cedric at the entrance of the school. I got there and saw him sitting on a bench, patiently waiting. He saw me and we both went up to each other. He greeted me with a hug and a kiss.
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long." You said. Cedric smiled.
"Believe me, you didn't." He replied. You smiled and you two interlocked hands, walking out of the castle and towards Hogsmeade. He opened the door of the Three Broomsticks and we walked over to the same table we sat at for our first date. He pulled the chair out for me, and I sat down. A waitress came over to us, and she greeted us with a smile.
"What can I get you two?" She asked us.
"I'll take a Butterbeer with some ginger, please," I said.
"I'll take the same thing." Cedric smiled at me. A smile grew on my face as the waitress nodded.
"Okay, it'll be out shortly." She grinned and walked away. I looked at the wizard menu to find what to eat. "Anything you see that catches your eye?" I asked Cedric. He held my hand on the top of the table and squeezed it a bit.
"I was looking at the Chicken and Ribs platter, but the fried sausages also look good." He showed me a picture of the fried sausages on the menu. The picture was moving and it showed someone seasoning the finished plate.
"Oh, that does look good!" I said, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear with my free hand. The waitress came back with our Butterbeers and we thanked her.
"Anything to eat?" She asked.
"Yes, Uhm, I'll get the fried sausages, please," I said, pointing to the menu she nodded and turned to Cedric. He nodded.
"The same, please." He chuckled.
"Unoriginal I see." I snorted.
"Hey! You just got everything I wanted." He retorted. I smiled and tilted my head a bit, before dropping my smile. I looked down at the table and avoided eye contact with him. "Love, what's wrong?" He asked me, I heard the concerned tone in his voice.
"I'm thinking about the third task. It's in 3 months, and I'm scared for you." I let out, silently, still looking at the table.
"You said it. It's 3 months away, there's still so much time left." He said, rubbing my knuckles with his thumb trying to calm me down.
"But 3 months will come before you know it, and I can't lose you, Ced. I don't know what I'd do." I confessed, my voice starting to get shaky. He reached over the table and placed his hand under my chin, lifting my head to face him.
"There's something growing in the Quidditch pitch. I believe it's a maze with the way it's spread out. I know there's gonna be obstacles to face. I have a wide knowledge of spells that can get me through it. You don't need to worry about me. What you need to focus on is helping Harry. Dumbledore chose you for a reason to help him. He trusts you." Cedric explained to me, never breaking eye contact. He wiped away a tear from my face with his thumb and smiled. "Now smile for me. I can't have you crying on our dinner date. You're too pretty to be crying." He said a goofy grin on his face. I chuckled at his grin wiped my tears with a spare napkin, and smiled slightly.
"Happy?" I chuckled.
"Show me teeth." He smiled even wider. I started laughing and smiled even wider. "There's the smile I love." He said, full of love.
♡♡
Our food finally arrived, and we ate our food, talking about classes and other things as well.
"I've sent my parents letters about you." Cedric brought up.
"Really? Good letters I hope." I joked.
"Of course good letters." He reassured me. I took a sip of my butterbeer and wiped my mouth with my napkin before speaking again. "What do you tell them about me?" I asked.
"Well I tell them that you're a brilliant witch, one of the best Quidditch players I've ever seen, you're so beautiful and smart and kind..." I watched him rant on and on about the stuff he wrote about me to his parents. Such a sweet boy. "...I hope you can meet them soon. In every letter they send me back, they ask about you." I blushed a bit.
"I write to my parents about how amazing you are too. My mum especially already loves you. Harley sends me letters asking when she can meet you." I chuckle. "My dad is okay with it and they barely mentioned Cameron, only that he's doing good and he misses me," I said.
"Well, it's March. He'll get to see you soon. We can also meet each other's parents in the summer!" He suggested.
"I love that idea. Mum will be so happy when I send her a letter." I beamed. We continued finishing up our dinner and paid for our food. We left the Three Broomsticks and stopped to get some Ice cream before walking back to the Castle. Cedric ordered our ice creams, and after I begged him to let me pay for us, he finally let me pay.
"You didn't have to do that you know." He said, both of us walking back to the castle.
"I know. I just thought I would. You took me to dinner, Ced, the least I could do was pay for our ice creams." I said. He kissed my temple and we walked back to the castle, me earning a few more kisses from Cedric.
