The bomber jumped off the bridge in order to flee from the police. Jinpei did the same. He was going to stop him, he wasn't going to let him get away after all he had done.
   - Matsuda-kun! Sato shouted before going down the stairs.
The man fled, but was pursued by the policeman, until he found himself in a dead end. He could only face his pursuer, who grabbed him by the collar.

-W... Wait... It's not me... I had this child's voice in my head... Do you know what I mean? It happens often... "Kill cops"... "Anybody"... "Kill"... That's what I heard... Do you understand? It's not my fa...
Jinpei didn't give him time to finish his explanations and punched him which sent the culprit to the ground.
-You should have ignored those voices! And kill the cops, when you went after the innocent?!

Sato arrived in the dead end and discovered that his colleague had already taken care of the criminal. She understood how he felt, but he couldn't act like that.
-Matsuda-kun, you didn't have to hit him. You should have even waited for us before trying anything. You must not let hatred invade you. She scolded him.
However, she gave him a soft look.

The rest of the police arrived and picked up the bomber. Jinpei, when to him, announced that he was going to leave. Yoko was still in the car, so he was going to drop her off at his place. Then celebrate the arrest of the criminal, in memory of his best friend.

Once arrived at the apartment, the policeman shook the girl he was babysitting to wake her up. The latter just changed position, disturbed by these shaking, however, continuing to sleep.
   -Seriously...
He got out of the car and went to the passenger side. He opened the door and grabbed the old high school girl in order to carry. He wasn't going to blame her for not waking either.
So he took her to her bedroom and put her in bed before going to sit on his couch. He too needed some well-deserved rest.

It was two hours later that Jinpei woke up. Without realizing it, he had fallen asleep, certainly because of the relaxation due to the day.
The apartment was very quiet. Yoko was certainly still sleeping, unless she was out, which was unlikely.

With a sigh, the man grabbed his phone. It was past six-thirty. He had to move, celebrate the arrest of the bomber. But he wasn't going to celebrate this alone.
So he looked for the number of a person he knows. Once found, he called that person.

   -"Hello ?" Answered this person.
   -Hello.
   -"..."
   -...
   -"..."
   - Have you seen the news?
   -"Yes."
   -The bar on Third Street.
-"I'll be there in twenty minutes"
He hung up and left to change quickly.

The policeman was the first to arrive in the bar. He sat down and waited a few minutes. He was joined by a man with blond hair, dark skin and blue eyes.
   -Yo! Jinpei greeted.
The newcomer sat down at the table.

   - So, did you catch this famous bomber? The blonde asked even though he already knew the answer.
The latter was just interested in more precisions. After all, he too had wanted the culprit of the case arrested, since Jinpei's friend who died earlier was also his.
   - Yeah, finally...

The policeman asked the bartender for two glasses of alcohol. They were served fairly quickly.
-Cheers ! They said at the same time, clinking their glasses.
Jinpei downed his glass in one gulp before putting it down on the table. It felt good to finally drink in memory of Hagiwara Kenji. His blond-haired friend took longer to finish his.

The two men talked to each other all evening, whether it was about the past or about the affair. They drank several glasses of alcohol at the same time, and ate together. And this, until the blonde had to leave.
The policeman decided to stay a little longer, still enjoy this moment he had waited so long.

Yoko woke up and looked around. It was dark, she couldn't see anything. So she turned on her phone and was dazzled by the light from it. Once used to it, she lit up where she was: her bedroom.
-Matsuda-keiji carried me so far...? He could have woken me up...
Her stomach rumbled, making her notice that she was hungry. It had been a while since she had eaten.

The girl got up and looked at the time. It was four o'clock in the morning.
-I slept so much... She whispered.
She leaves her room to go to the kitchen and prepares something to eat. A quick thing. There had to be instant noodles left.

On the way, she almost jumped to find Jinpei asleep on the sofa, still fully dressed, although he wasn't wearing the same clothes as the night before.
Faced with this, the former high school girl could only let go of a smile. He must have celebrated the arrest of the man who killed his best friend. She didn't know how it happened, but whatever. It was over, and that was the most important thing.

-Well... I'm not going to leave him like that... She whispered going to the policeman's room.
She grabbed the blanket and dragged it as she could to put it on its tutor . It was the only thing she could do.
Then she went into the kitchen began to cook for her.

Once her meal was ready, she ate it as quickly as she had started. It did her good to finally have a real meal after more than a day of not having really eaten anything, after more than a day of putting in more effort than she was capable of.
Maybe she should cook something for Jinpei too. To thank him for being there to calm her down. To be present at all, in fact. Also to celebrate what had happened.
