As a black woman, it scares me that I cannot go on a jog, sleep in MY bed, sell cds, or BREATHE without fearing my own life. It's heartbreaking to know the people that are supposed to be protecting us, are trying to fucking kill us.

Say their names: George Floyd, Trayvon Martin, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tamir Rice, Oscar Grant, Eric Garner, Philando Castile, Samuel Dubose, Sandra Bland, Walter Scott, Terrence Crutcher, Regis Korchinski-Paquet, Tony McDade, and the list goes on and on.

People are protesting something that is supposed to keep us safe, carrying AK-47, spitting, and abusing officers and we decide to protest a WRONGFUL murder, and they are tear gassing us, shooting rubber bullets, and god knows who else.

The fact my parents had to teach me people will treat me differently because of THE COLOR OF MY SKIN and not the person who I am, is disgusting.

The fact, people are DEFENDING the murder is disgusting. He should be charged for first degree murder not third degree.

We tried to lead peaceful protests but the police responded in violence, making us retaliate.

If you are protesting, bring water not milk, cover your face, tattoos, birthmarks, anything that could her someone identify you.
