Leafy's PoV:
The next day.

I woke up to my alarm screaming at me, then pressed the snooze button.

I sat up, and wondered why Firey yelled at Blocky like that. He knows I liked Blocky?

I went to wash my face and do the stuff you do when you wake up.

Then I decided that..

Maybe...

No, of course not. He's.. too cool for me.

I slide my clothes on and stumble downstairs.

"Hey Leafy." I hear, "Hi, mom."

I sit down at the kitchen and eat my toast.
"How's Firey?" My mother asks.
"I.. Well, he's been acting weird lately."
"Oh?"
"He's.. being overprotective."
"Well... It's boys." She replies, "That's how your father used to be when he liked me back in Highschool."
"He used to be overprotective?"
"Yup. He eventually confessed." My mother looked at me, then at the ceiling, "And at the time, I liked someone else."
"Really?"
"Yes, I had no idea he liked me. He made it so obvious, but I was so oblivious."
I thought for a moment.
"Then?"
"Then next thing you know, we married, had you, and now he's still sleeping."
"So.. You're saying... Firey has a crush on... me..?"
"Well, I don't really know. All boys are different."
I then finished my tiny breakfast and walked out the door.
"I'm gonna go ask him." I say.
"Good luck." She says, and grins at me as I walk out the door.

I march across to the school, which is just a 5 minute walk, and go through the massive gates. My eyes scan Firey, but I can't see him. I notice Pin, and Needle. So I walk to them.

"Heyyy..." I say, awkwardly, and rubbing the back of my head, "You guys seen Firey?" I ask.

"Uh, no." Needle replies, "Why?"
"Oh, I've seen him! But why do you need him?" Says Pin.

"I... need to ask him something?" I say, blushing because I was embarressed.

"Are you... blushing?!" Pin and Needle say in unison.

"W-what! No!" I stammer.

Great job, they don't believe me now.

"Firey's over there with Puffball." Pin pointds to a direction as a glance over to where she was pointing.

Oh god. Puffball?

I see them laughing away.

"He's with.. Puffball?" I shivered. Puffball was our year's most.. bitchiest... sluttiest... girl in the whole world. I'm not even joking.

Wait, he's laughing with Puffball. Why should I even care? I like Blocky.. Don't I?

I froze on the spot and I couldn't move. I wanted to, but I couldn't.

The picture of those two laughing at whatever Firey said, just... stung me.

It was like he threw a dagger with poison of envy through my heart..

And in that moment. I realised.

I loved Firey. Not Blocky.

Now he's talking to the most popular girl.

He was the most popular boy... after all..

Me?

I'm nothing.

I'm probably not even on his friends list.

I just.. couldn't believe it.

He's blushing?

He's blushing.

And he's looking at her.

Why am I so stupid, of course he wouldn't like me.

And before I could stop myself, I cried.

Tears.
Tears on my cheeks.
It's like my heart was crying too.

Tears crawled down my cheeks.

Pin and Needle saw me, and immediately sprang into action. Giving me Ice Cream and Tissues.

I took the Ice Cream, but not the tissues.

I walked away, muttering a "Thanks."

Firey's PoV:

I was silently waiting for Leafy. The love of my life. :)
"Heyyyy, Firey~"

I turned around and glared at her.

Puffball.

God I HATED HER. SO MUCH.

I know how I can get her to leave me alone!

See what she wants then walk away!!
Before Leafy sees me talking to her enemy!

Great Idea!

"What do you want, Puffball?" I ask, going straight to the point.

"I want y- I-I mean, I want to talk to you." Puffball smirked.

Oh my gosh, I dislike that infamous grin of hers.

"Okay, what do you want?" I ask, annoyed.

She grabbed my hand and took me near a blossom tree.

"Okay, just get straight to the point"

"I love you.. Will you be my boyfriend?"

I laughed sarcastically.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because we're meant to be!!"

I laughed in hysterics, she started giggling too. Probably because she had no clue what I was laughing about.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Leafy, Pin and Needle.

Both Needle and Pin were hugging Leafy and giving her a box of tissues and ice cream.

Then it hit me. Leafy was crying.

Oh no. Plan Failed.

I looked over to her direction and I saw her walking away with Pin's ice cream, and the box of tissues still laying still in Needle's hands.

I fucked up, didn't I?

"And.. we're both popul-"
"Sorry Puffball, I gotta see if the love of MY life, is okay. Goodbye." I then ran off, after Leafy.

I chased after her as fast as I could.
Then I saw her hugging Blocky.

I decided that.. I won't let her go to Blocky like this.

I went up to the two..

"Hey.." I say.

"I'm sorry."

She turned around and hugged me.

"It's okay." She pulled apart and smiled at me.

She wiped her eyes with her sleeve.

"I love you Leafy.." Was all that came out my mouth.

Both were surprised.

Leafy looked at Blocky. Blocky smiled and mouthed something.

Leafy turned back around and hugged me.

"I love you too..."

"As a friend."
