Previously: "Stiles?"

It was barely a whisper.

"Stiles!" I said, this time more clearly, with excitement coursing through my veins while butterflies attacked my stomach. I jumped up from my position, which knocked Isaac on his back, as I ran to the figure. I jumped into his arms, but pulled away as soon as the figure wrapped his arms around me. Why does this feel different?

"Stiles?" I asked again as he pulled away, huffing.

"Actually, Stefan, but thanks for the warm welcome, Lyds!" He said sarcastically, making me jump back and look around the beach.

"Wh -- where --"

"He's still at the car. He doesn't know how to come back." He whispered to me as he pointed to his car, the only one that had a guy leaning against it. As I looked closer, I found the one thing that helped me identify him. His hair.

"Is he safe enough?" I asked and he nodded.

"My work is done. Go get him." He winked.

I pushed Stefan away from me as I booked it over to him. A couple feet away, every worry about his control I've had in the past coming into my mind as one big, huge, worry bubble. I began walking very slowly, mostly to test out the waters. I took a deep breath, surprised I can control myself from attacking him so well. His eyes snapped to mine.

His brown eyes melted into molten lava as my green eyes widened.

No more control.

"Lydia?" He whispered as his entire face held every emotion I'd felt this past couple weeks. All thoughts flew out of the window as I jumped into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist as he steadied me enough to hug me back. I pulled away and grabbed his face, pulling it to mine with such force, it clashed our teeth together and I gasped slightly from pain. He kissed back with such raw emotion, I got lost in him. He pulled back and wiped away the tears, making me cry even harder as the memories floated back to me.

"Hey ... hey, what's wrong?" He asked and I shook my head as I kissed him again, then a trail of kisses from his lips to his cheek, and then back, before releasing and holding him as tight as possible. He chuckled slightly as he matched my hug pressure before pulling back and setting me on the ground.

"Lydia, you have yet to say a word."

"This wasn't my original outfit." I said and he huffed a laugh through his nose as I held up all five fingers. "That's 5 words." I announced and he just shook his head as he kissed me again.

"I missed you, Lydia. So much." I nodded as I fell into his chest, wrapped in his scent I missed so much.

"I'm drunk." I said shamefully while his arms wrapped around my torso.

"I know, I can taste it." I nodded, my tears finally coming to a stop.

"You going to tell me why you're crying now?" He asked and I shook my head.

"You'll laugh." I sniffled.

"I wont." He said, his voice soft.

"You came back when I'm smack dab in the middle of my period." I sobbed a little and he began laughing, making me hit him on his arm.

"You said you wouldn't laugh!" I yelled and he just kept chuckling as he kissed my lips deeply.

"Want to tell me the real reason?"

"Well, thats one of them." I said and he nodded, before I sighed and closed my eyes, opening them to find him there still.

"I thought you were a dream." I whispered and he kissed my forehead.

"I'm not a dream, Lydia. Remember?" My voice cracked and my breaths began coming faster.

"You have been to me since you left." I whispered looking down, only to have my chin lifted up by his fingers. He looked around before looking at the car, and lifting me on the roof of it, with such ease I was in shock for a few seconds. It was so weird seeing my human boyfriend as a supernatural creature. He hopped up with me and we sat criss-crossed on the top of Stefan's car.

"Wanna carry us to the nearest life guard tower before we break his car?" I asked and Stiles looked down before laughing and nodding, wrapping his arms around me and suddenly we were at a life guard tower. Weird.

"Beautiful." I said as I looked at the crashing waves, the moonlight bouncing off the reflection of the water. Stiles looked over to me.

"Yeah, you really are." He whispered and I looked back at him to return to picking at my fingernails.

"Lydia, what're you dreaming about?" He asked quietly.

"At first, it was you coming back."

"That's not bad!"

"It is when I wake up, and you aren't there next to me." I whispered as my heart clenched at his expression, "But, then it got worse. It was -- it was you dying in the upcoming -- what feels like a war." I said even quieter, and he shifted.

"How?" He asked and I choked a sob.

"Saving me. Different ways every time but still saving me." I said as he enveloped me in a huge hug. We rocked back and forth while I cried on his shoulder for a while, him saying how much he missed me or loved me and me saying it back. It was about 20 minutes before I stopped crying and we were just wrapped in each other.

"I missed you so much, Stiles Stilinski." I whispered, "Not just that, I'm in love with you. I don't know if you could hear anything that I was talking about with Isaac --"

"Actually I could. And Lydia it made me realize --" I went from laying on his chest to straddling his lap with my arms wrapped around his neck while our faces were inches apart.

"Well, spit it out." I sniffled, the cold getting to the tip of my nose. He stood up, taking me with him before I slid down his torso. He looked around before sighing, taking a deep breath, and then speaking.

"Lydia, I've loved you from the moment I've met you. Everything I've ever done was to protect you, and I'm happy to announce I did my job. Lydia, I had an entire plan before meeting you. Get through school, go to the police academy, hopefully become a detective, maybe make it into the FBI --"

"You aren't breaking up with me, are you?" I asked, his eyes went wide before shaking his head and hands.

"No, the exact opposite actually." He dug into his pocket before getting on one knee, and my entire body froze.

"Stiles?" I asked, my voice wary. He held up a ring, a beautiful ring that looked so familiar.

"Lydia Camille-Grace Martin, will you marry me?" He asked and I felt winded. I was speechless, and my body was shaking wildly but one word came to mind as soon as he pulled out that ring.

"Yes." I whispered, his eyes lit up and I could feel my feet again. I gasped as he slipped on the ring and he scooped me up in a passionate kiss with one fluid motion.

We were sitting at the edge of the lifeguard tower, in the same position I was in with Isaac earlier, and watching the waves. That is, watching the waves in the background of my new beautiful ring.

"Stiles. We're only halfway done with our senior year, we've only been together 7 months and you're proposing. I would say that's weird for high schoolers, but I mean I'm a banshee dating a vampire. In a pack of werewolves. Nothing's too weird." I said with a slight laugh.

I sat there examining the ring on my finger, loving the way it shimmers in the moonlight. Loving how it was a little too big so it fell to one side every time I tried to balance it in the middle.

"That was my moms ring." He said as he rested his chin on the crook of my neck. I looked to him hesitantly before shaking my head and taking it off.

"I can't -- I can't take this from you." I said as I to to pry it off my ring finger. Stiles chuckled before wrapping my hand in his, stopping my movement.

"I gave it to you to symbolize something --"

"Other than marriage?"

"Well, yes but --"

"Being together forever?"

"Yes, that too. But also the fact I give my entire being, to you. Every sad part about my life, every happy or mad or ... smad. Every tiny piece of me, is now yours." He said and I rested my head on his chest so he could connect our lips shortly.

"Stiles, there's a problem. And since I'm still a tad bit drunk, I'm going to tell you now --"

"Joy." He said, fear and slight irritation coming from him.

"Um ... I want a baby, Stiles."

"Right now?!" He asked in a high pitched voice, I shook my head and held onto his forearm to keep him from moving anywhere, a humorous smile on my face.

"Stiles, middle of senior year --"

"Actually, its technically the 7th of 9 months of school, that none of us attend apparently." He said and I threw my head back.

"Sorry, sorry. Go ahead." He said, offering me the floor. How nice.

"At one point, I want a child. A baby. A baby I made, you know?" I said and he nodded.

"And I cant --" He drew the words out slowly, as if just registering the fact.

"You're dead ... Or undead -- doesn't matter, the point is it can't possibly happen." I said looking down at my ring again.

"I'm sorry, Stiles. This is a lot. I mean you just came back -- a vampire -- and now you're proposing? I don't think --"

"I've been carrying that ring in my pocket for 4 months now, Lydia." He said and I froze.

"Stiles, may I remind you we are both only 18 years old. Why all the sudden are you doing this? Is it because you think we'll die in the fight, or --"

"No, Lydia. Look, ever since I was turned I had one thought, and I hated the thought, I would have to be alone. Without you, or Scott or Allison. At one point, you all die and I live for years on end. I just want to spend as much time with you as mine -- or us as a we -- that I can. With you. Without you, who knows what I could be?" He finished, whispering the last part to himself mostly, but loud enough so I could hear it too. I sighed before wrapping my arms around him comfortingly.

"You'll meet new people, even --" I almost choked on the words before being able to say them "Someone you could be with forever. Someone better." I said, faking a smile towards him, but he just rolled his eyes and looked to the ground, playing with the strings of the sweatpants I had on.

"There is no one better than you, Lydia Martin. Which is why I want you to be Lydia Stilinski, forever." He said and I leaned against the crook of his neck.

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"Okay, Stilinski. I will be the third Stilinski member." I said and he smiled, kissing me softly and lovingly before tearing away and blinking, now facing the opposite direction as me, I was immediately filled with worry.

"Stiles? Are you okay? What's wrong?" I asked as I tried pulling him to look back at me. He pushed my hand off and I froze. Was he just aggressive with me?

He shook his head before turning back towards me and taking a deep breath, his eyes still closed.

"Stiles?" I asked, not even trying to hide the fear in my voice. His eyes shot open hearing my tone and his face was laced with worry.

"I -- I'm sorry." He whispered and I looked at him with curiosity.

"You're so different." I said, his eyebrows scrunched together. "You're you, but you're not. You move too slickly, you don't stutter as much, you're aggressive."

"Agressive?"

"Last month you wouldn't even have the heart to spank me in the bedroom, now you're pushing me and pulling me and -- it's a lot to take in." I said as he cast his gaze to his shoelaces.

I slipped off the ring from my finger and placed it on his shoe before standing up. When his eyes met the gaze of the ring he darted his gaze to me and got to his feet in the most non-Stiles way.

"Lydia --"

"I'm sorry." I whispered, and he was gone with a swish of air. I sighed and clung to the edge of the lifeguard towers railing as I began thinking over everything that just happened here. I made the right decision, right?
