Jan was right, and Denali knew it. You can't stop the feelings you have for someone. You can't lie to yourself either. Your heart knows the truth all too well.

It was finally the day of Stephanie's Childs show, and the three girls were on the backstage of the bar getting ready.

"I'm so excited!" Jan cheered, as she was looking at her reflection for the tenth time, as she saw Rosé through the mirror, sitting on a chair with a defeated expression. "Are you okay, Rosie?" She asked, turning around.

"Yeah baby, I'm fine." Rosé lied with a little smile.

"Is she coming?" Lagoona asked, sitting next to her.

Rosé nodded. "With her boyfriend."

"The nerve." Jan growled.

"How are you feeling about that?" Lagoona looked at her. "About her."

"I'm just going to aggressively ignore that part of my life until it goes away." Rosé stood and went to the mirror.

"That's definitely not gonna work." Jan pointed.

"But it's the only thing I can do now."

Suddenly, a man shouted from behind the door, "Five minutes!".

Rosé, Jan and Lagoona shared a hug before headed to the stage. The nerves were high, especially for Rosé, knowing that Denali must be already there.

A few moments after, the girls entered the stage, the lights almost blinded them, as the audience cheered loudly.

On the other hand, Denali was sitting at a table with her friends and Joey by her side.

"They are pretty good." Joey said as they began to sing, resting his hand on Denali's leg.

"Yeah." Denali replied without thinking about it. She had all her attention on Rosé. How she was singing, with her perfectly curled hair, and a pink outfit that was revealing her amazing legs.

The spotlight turned to Rosé as she began to sing a solo, and suddenly she met eyes with Denali, and a feeling of saddness filled Denali's heart. She knew she hurt her, she could see it in Rosé's eyes even in the distance. Watching the girl of her dreams, but with someone else by her side.

Then, she glanzed at Jan, who was in the stage waiting her turn to sing her solo. Jan looked back at her, and Denali gave her a smile, because besides their fight, they were friends after all. But Jan just ignored her looking away.

Jackie leaned to Denali's ear. "You fucked it up, Nals." She whispered.

"Are you okay?" Joey asked her, as he saw the girl's eyes filled with tears.

"Yeah," Denali nodded, "I just need to take some air." She stood and went outside of the club, holding back the tears until she closed the door behind her. She was sobbing loudly, almost not breathing as the hot tears were burning her cheeks. The cold air of the night was filling her lungs.

No one noticed how guilty she felt, they only saw her guilt. No one saw the pain she was in, they only saw the pain she caused. No one realized she hated herself, far more than anyone hated her.

Suddenly, the bar's door opened and Jackie showed up.

"Nals..." She spoke. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude."

"It's okay." Denali sobbed. "I deserved it."

"You don't." Jackie replied. "Come here." She opened her arms, and took Denali just a second to throw herself on Jackie's arms.

"I fucked it up." Denali whimpered.

"But I don't understand, Denali." Jackie said. "You like her, don't you? So, why are you acting like this?"

"It's like..." Denali tried to find the correct way to express her feelings, "Like, I want her to look at me, but I turn my head every time she does."

"Who long have you been feeling like this, Nals?"

"I knew I did from the moment we met at school." Denali replied. "It was... Not love at first sight exactly, but... Familiarity. Like: oh, hello, it's you. It's going to be you."

"I get what you mean." Jackie sighed. "I felt the same way with Jan."

"Are you a thing? I always knew there was something between you two."

"We have something beautiful going on," Jackie smiled, "I don't even know what it is... But honestly I don't care. I just want to have her in my life."

"How cute." Denali replied, giving her friend another hug. "Please, don't tell anyone what I told you. Nicky doesn't know anything. And of course Joey doesn't know either."

"I'm not, don't worry." Jackie smiled at her, and soon enough the door opened again and all their friends appeared.

"Ask her." Lagoona said to Rosé as they crossed the bar's door.

Rosé hesitated for a moment, but then went ahead to Denali. "Hmm..." She began, "The girls wanted to know if your house is available for a little meeting."

"It's your house too, Rosé." Denali replied softly, rubbing her eyes. "You don't have to ask me."

"That's a yes?" Nicky said happily from behind.

"Yes, silly." Denali chuckled.

Joey approached Denali, "I'm invited too?" He asked shyly.

"Yeah," she hesitated, "I don't see why not."

They all went to the girls' house.

"Mom?" Denali asked, crossing the front door.

"Hey baby," Denali's mom spoke getting out of the bedroom wearing a fancy dress, as she was putting on her earrings. "Hey all of you." She chuckled as she saw all her daughter's friends.

"It's okay if they stay for a little meeting?" Denali asked.

"Yeah, of course." The woman replied, as Rosé's dad walked outside the bedroom too. "We're about to go out, so you'll have the house just for you." Denali's mom said.

"Just don't play loud music." Rosé's dad said with a smile, grabbing the woman by the waist and leaving the house.

"Let's partyyyyy!" Nicky yelled as soon as they closed the door.

"Take it easy, baby." Lagoona laughed, as they put on some music and opened some beers.

"I'm gonna change this costume." Rosé announced, and went to her bedroom.

She was now fully changed, and decided to lie on bed for a while. She just wanted to be alone, to not see Joey and Denali, when suddenly she took her phone and created an account on a dating app without thinking twice.

She was filling her profile with a fake name, 'GoldenRoses', and a picture where her face wasn't showing, and you can only see her bare chest.

She was busy scrolling on the app, when someone knocked at the door. "Are you decent?" Denali asked from outside of the bedroom.

"Not morally," Rosé replied, "but I'm wearing pants, if that's what you're asking."

Denali slightly opened the door, and closed it behind her. "Hi." She spoke softly, sitting on her own bed.

"Hi." Rosé replied, still looking at her phone.

"You were amazing tonight."

"Thanks." Rosé replied without looking at her. "But you didn't watch the whole show."

"But I heard it from outside." There was a killer silence for a moment before Denali spoke again, "I'm sorry." She said looking down. Still, no answer. "Why are you avoiding me, Rosé?"

"I'm just keeping my distance because I know I can't have you."

"Why are you saying that?" Denali sighed. "You said you were happy for me when I told you about Joey." That last sentence made Rosé lift her head from her phone to look at her.

"Just because I didn't react, doesn't mean it didn't hurt."

This time was Denali who had no words to say. She just left the room to join her friends and boyfriend. Rosé stayed in the room, and suddenly her phone rang.

She looked at it just to find out she got a message on the dating app, from a slutty blonde chick who was biting her red lips and showing a little bit of her boobs, but not showing the rest of her face.

Slxttybitch: Does swiping through this dating app count as exercise?

Rosé chuckled to herself reading the text. "This could be a good distraction." She thought, before replying to the mysterious girl.

GoldenRoses: I think it doesn't count, but I can show you some bed training if you want.

Slxttybitch: Sounds about right.

GoldenRoses: Where are you from?

Slxttybitch: Here and there.

GoldenRoses: What do you do?

Slxttybitch: This and that.

GoldenRoses: You ever...?

Slxttybitch: Now and then.

GoldenRoses: Girl, you're just full of information.

Slxttybitch: The greater the mystery, the better.

GoldenRoses: I take that.

Rosé kept texting the girl, as all her friends entered the room. Denali sat on her own bed with Joey; Jan and Jackie sat on Rosé's bed beside her, and Lagoona and Nicky on the carpet.

"You okay?" Jackie asked Rosé, as the others were opening more beers.

"Yeah baby, don't worry." Rosé gave her a little smile.

She glanzed over the other bed, seeing the couple laughing and smiling.

"I want to beat the shit out of him." Rosé spoke low, only for Jackie and Jan to hear, as her face was turning red due to the anger.

"I'm glad to help if you need me." Jan said.

"Girls, is not worth it." Jackie looked at them.

"Are you sure I can't punch him in the face?" Rosé kept looking at the couple.

"Yes."

"What if I just break his nose a little?"

"You could end up in jail."

"Yeah," Jan added, "Jackie's right. And let me tell you, jail is not fun."

"You've been in jail?" Rosé looked at her with wide open eyes.

"Once, in Monopoly."

Rosé laughed before checking her phone again, and seeing another text from the mysterious girl, her best new distraction at the moment.
