I woke up to Loki's body wrapped around mine. I snuggled into him, delighted by the contact. I lay there for an hour or so before Loki began to run his fingers up and down my spine, indicating he was awake.
"Good morning," he mumbled.
"Good morning," I replied, nuzzling into the crook of his neck.
Loki sighed happily and tightened his arms around me.
"As much as I love cuddling with you, my dear, we did arrange to meet with Mother," Loki said.
I groaned unhappily but disentangled myself from Loki. I walked to the closet where my clothes had been unpacked (either by magic or servants). There was Asgardian attire as well as my clothes.
"Would your mother appreciate it more if I wore Asgardian clothes?" I asked.
Loki kissed my temple and shrugged.
"I do not think she minds," Loki said.
I contemplated it for a moment before deciding to wear Asgardian pants and a tunic. The tunic was a forest green with golden swirls. It looked fancy, but at least I could still wear pants.
Loki and I walked to breakfast together. Last night had been a fancy dinner, with the royal family and their consorts only in attendance. Breakfast, however, was served in the great hall and it seemed everyone in the palace was invited. Loki led me to the table at the end of the room where the royal family was seated. Loki sat next to his mother and I sat next to him.
"Y/n, we can review your memories after lunchtime, if you would like," Frigga said. "I have some duties to attend to before then."
I smiled at her.
"That sounds good," I said.
Once breakfast was finished, Loki and I walked through the gardens together.
"You know, in Norse mythology, you were married to Sigyn," I said.
Loki sighed.
"I wasn't," he said. "She was a close friend of Mother's, and already married when I was born."
I nodded slowly.
"You are frightened," Loki said.
"What? No, I'm not," I said.
Loki stopped me by grabbing my wrist.
"I am the god of lies," Loki said. "You can't lie to me."
My face crumpled and I buried my face into his chest.
"I just don't understand how this is possible. I don't remember anything about them, but I remember being taken by Hydra. I remember that day, but I don't remember my mother's face, or voice," I cried.
Loki hugged me and stroked my hair.
"It may have been trauma shutting down the memories," Loki said. "Or perhaps Hydra..."
He trailed off and I knew what he was thinking. Maybe Hydra had taken my memories.
"Would your mother be able to restore them if... if they did?" I mumbled into his shirt.
"Most likely," Loki said, nodding. "After all, the Wakandan princess was able to restore Bucky's memories."
I pulled away from the hug and noticed tear stains on Loki's shirt.
"Sorry," I said, turning red with embarrassment.
"There is no need to apologise, Love," Loki said. "You are entitled to have and show emotions. This situation is distressing for you."
I smiled up at Loki.
"Thank you," I said.
Loki smiled and kissed my forehead.
"Brother!"
Loki rolled his eyes and turned in the direction of Thor's voice. Thor and four other people were walking across the garden to us. There were three men and one woman.
"Y/n, these are my friends!" Thor said. "Lady Sif and the warriors three, Hogun, Fandral, and Volstagg!"
I giggled at Thor's enthusiasm.
"It's lovely to meet you," I said.
"And you," Fandral said, bowing and kissing my hand.
I knew that it was polite to kiss a woman's hand on Asgard, but the way he did it was flirtatious.
"What brings you to Asgard?" Fandral asked.
I looked to Thor and Loki.
"Just some Avenger problems. And it was time for her to meet Mother and Father," Thor said.
Fandral quirked an eyebrow at Thor.
"None of your other Avenger friends have been to Asgard," he said.
Thor glanced to Loki and I for permission. I shrugged and Loki nodded.
"Y/n and Loki are courting," Thor said.
All four of Thor's friends looked to me in surprise.
"Loki fell for a Midgardian?" Volstagg questioned.
"Well, yes, but no," Thor said.
Sif cocked her head to the side.
"What is that supposed to mean?" she asked.
"We though that y/n was Midgardian," Thor said. "But she is Asgardian."
All four of them whipped their eyes to me again.
"Surprise," I said, giving them jazz hands.
"So, when you met, you thought y/n was Midgardian until you found out she is Asgardian," Sif said.
"Yes," Thor said.
"So, you're an Avenger," Hogun stated after a moment of silence.
"Yeah," I said. "I'm a new recruit."
"What can you do, then?" Sif asked.
I held a hand out and showed them a golden orb of magic. The four of them stared at the magic in awe.
"Asgardian magic?" Hogun asked.
I shrugged.
"Apparently," I said. "We're going to see Frigga after lunch time."
"Do you fight with more than just magic?" Sif asked, eyeing my attire.
"Of course," I said. "I can't rely on just magic."
Sif grinned at me.
"Want to spar?" she asked. "We don't get nearly enough female warriors around here."
I chuckled.
"I'd love to, although I don't use a sword. They're kind of outdated on Midgard," I said.
"How do you fight, then?" she asked.
We began walking to the training courts, and I explained to her how I fought with guns and my body. When we reached the training courts, I realised we had left the boys behind.
"They'll come, don't worry," Sif said as I glanced over my shoulder. "The warriors three will want to see how skilled you are. I'll teach you how to use a blade."
Sif handed me a beautiful sword with carvings in the hilt. It wasn't too light or too heavy, and Sif instructed me on the correct stance. She went easy on me and showed me how to properly handle the blade. A few hours later I was doing pretty well. I wouldn't be able to hold myself for long against Sif or any of the other warriors, but I was able to use the sword, at least.
When Loki arrived, I was drenched in sweat. He didn't seem to mind as he pressed a kiss to my temple.
"You'd better have a bath before we meet with Mother," Loki said.
I sighed happily at the thought of a hot bath. Loki led me back to his room where a bath was already running. There were bubbles that smelt sweet and had a greenish tint to them.
Loki closed the bathroom door as he left, leaving me alone in the bathroom. The bath wasn't like one on Earth, it was more like a pool. I slipped off my clothes and walked to the bath. I stepped into the hot water and almost moaned at the heat of the water against my skin.
I relaxed in the bath for a while before scrubbing myself clean and washing my hair. Once I was finished, I stepped out and towelled myself off. I put on my tunic and pants before exiting the bathroom. Loki was lying on the bed reading a book. I walked over to him and cuddled up to him on the bed.
"How long do we have?" I asked.
"About fifteen minutes," Loki replied.
I sighed and cuddled closer to my emerald-eyed god.
