dialogue:
kingsley walked into her class and sat in her not actually assigned but assigned seat. she followed her typical routine; she pulled out her journal and shoved her earbuds in her ears and started playing music before shoving her phone back in her backpack.
she sat at her desk, drumming her pen lightly on her desk to the beat of the music. the door swung open and effiel stood there, scanning the room for a place to sit until she spotted kingsley and gave a huge grin. she practically skipped to the seat behind kingsley and stared at her until kingsley pulled out her right earbud.
"hey, kingsley! i met your boyfriend yesterday!" she spat.
"oh, cool." kingsley said confused.
"he's super cute." she said keeping her random happiness.
"i think so."
"i'm surprised he chooses to be with you."
"excuse me?"
"i just wanted to ask you, kindly, to not spread any more rumors about me." effiel said. "i know it's hard because i'm the new girl and you're intimidated by me and all."
"effiel, i didn't say anything."
"you told your boyfriend i was a bitch." she glared as she hissed those words.
"you were a bitch! and what would i be intimidated by?" kingsley sassed.
"oh you know, my looks, my dancing, the fact that i have a few classes with vinnie."
"effiel, you didn't make the drill team. your technique wasn't good enough and go ahead and ask vinnie where he got that hickey on his neck from, k?" kingsley said as she flashed effiel a wink before she turned back around in her seat to face the front of the classroom.
kingsley could hear effiel getting out of her seat and move to the other side of the room. kingsley slightly smiled to herself and opened her journal.

"thank you, have a nice weekend." kingsley said to her teacher as she slung her backpack over her shoulder and slowly filed out of the classroom into the rushing hallways filled with students racing to their next destination.
kingsley shuffled through the teenagers with plenty of "excuse me"s and "pardon"s until she spotted maggie.
"mags!" kinsley called out.
"hey, kingsleys! you ready to go?" maggie asked referring to the car ride home kingsley's been providing maggie ever since maggie failed her driver's test.
"yeah, hang on. vinnie wanted to tell me something about his game tonight."
"that's fine." maggie said standing next to kingsley against the wall as the number of students in the hallways began to decrease.
kingsley saw vinnie walk out of the door. his dirty blonde hair flopped perfectly on his forehead.
"oh my god." maggie gasped.
"what? what's the matter?"
"look!" maggie said, still shocked.
kingsley looked back over to vinnie to see effiel laughing with him, vinnie's arm draped over her shoulder.
"you've got to be kidding me." kingsley whispered to maggie as vinnie and effiel approached.
"hey, kings!" vinnie smiled as he walked up to maggie and kingsley.
"hi kings!" effiel said before bursting out in a fit of laughter causing vinnie to look down at her and smile with a confused look on his face.
"c'mon, maggie, we better get you home." kingsley said looking directly at vinnie before walking away, maggie following.
"wait, kingsley, i need to talk to you about the game!" vinnie called out.
"yeah, i think i have plans tonight." kingsley yelled back without turning around.
as soon as both girls made it out into the parking lot, maggie spoke.
"what a bitch!" she said referring to effiel.
"what a dick!" kingsley responded referring to vinnie. "i asked him to not hang out with one girl." kingsley said as she slammed her car door shut. "one girl."
"he's an idiot." maggie said. "he's so selfish!"
"and he stared at me with that stupid look on his face!"
"yes!" maggie agreed. "like it was no big deal!"
kingsley scoffed before pulling out of the parking lot and began driving towards maggie's house. the girls were about five minutes away before kingsley's phone rang.
"it's vinnie." maggie said as she looked up at kingsley who kept her eyes on the road.
"decline it." kingsley said blankly. "i'll yell at him later.
"okay." maggie said. she pressed the red button before rubbing kingsley shoulder. "i'm sorry, kings."
"i'm not overreacting, am i?" kingsley doubted.
"no, kings! not at all. she is the only girl you don't like and vinnie knew that." maggie said getting interrupted again by kingsley phone ringing. "oh my god, it's him again."
"decline!" kingsley yelled. "jesus, shouldn't he -" the phone rang again.
"oh my- oh, it's micha." maggie said. "should we answer?" maggie asked.
"you answer and if it's vinnie's voice tell him i don't wanna talk to him."
maggie nodded before bringing the phone to her ear.
"hello? hey, micha. obviously i'm with her. she's driving. no, she doesn't wanna talk to him. yeah, she said that. she doesn't care. okay. bye." maggie set the phone back down in the cup holder. "he said vinnie tried calling you and that he's worried about you."
kingsley scoffed. "how very thoughtful of him."
"thanks for the ride. keep me posted, okay?" maggie said as kingsley pulled up to her house.
"yeah, of course."
"i love you, bye!" maggie said hugging kingsley quickly and then shutting the door.
kingsley drove off as her phone rang again. she glanced down quickly.
vinnie hacker
she rolled her eyes and continued to let the phone ring.
"oh my god." kingsley said as she pulled into her driveway to see vinnie leaning against his car. kingsley grabbed her backpack before taking a deep breath and opening the car door.
"kings!" vinnie began.
"shouldn't you be getting ready for your game?" kingsley asked, not making eye contact with him.
"we don't have to be there for another hour." vinnie said following kingsley. "wanna talk."
"i don't wanna talk to you, vinnie!" she said turning around to look at vinnie.
"what did i do, kingsley?"
"i asked you to do one thing!" kingsley said. "i asked you to stay away from effiel because-"
"oh my god, is this what this is about?" vinnie interrupted chuckling.
"don't interrupt me!" kingsley yelled causing vinnie to stand still with a shocked expression.
"i asked you to stay away from effiel because she continues to tell me that you're so cute and how crazy it is you're slumming it with me." kingsley spat. "just this morning she told me she was such a better dancer than me and that i should be worried because she has so many classes with you!" kingsley spat, tears swelling up at her eyes. "when you told me you didn't want me talking to chris, what did i do?"
"kingsley." vinnie spoke.
"you told me that it would make you more comfortable if you knew chris wasn't at my house and you know what i said, vinnie? i said 'of course'! i didn't understand it but what i did understand is my boyfriend was asking me to do something to make him happy so i did it. no questions asked! but when i ask you to do the same thing, what do you do? you say fuck you kingsley i'm walking out of a classroom with my arm around her!"
"kingsley, i was just being nice."
"i was just being nice when i said chris could come over to drop off my fucking costume!" kingsley screamed. "but i didn't do it because you asked me not to!"
"kingsley, you're overreacting!" vinnie said grabbing her shoulder.
kingsley chuckled. "fuck you." she said with a lifeless smile before turning around and opening her front door and slamming it behind her.
