"hey, chris. it's kingsley." she said as she bit her thumb nail she was never allowed to have painted because of dance.
"hey, kingsley, i didn't expect to get a call from you."
"yeah, sorry, it's just i'm wondering if you, i left," she stuttered. "when we went to grab coffee, i had come from dance practice and i brought my bag and i had this purple –"
"purple tank top." chris finished.
"yes! do you have it, or know where it is?" kingsley said, her voice filled with relief.
"yeah, i figured it was yours so i picked it up. i meant to call you sooner, sorry."
"that's fine! that's fine! no problem!" kingsley said, her voice still filled with hysteric relief.
"do you want me to come by and drop it off tonight or?"
"no, no, i can pick it up. it'd be way too much to ask."
"it's fine, really, i'll have it there by nine."
"sure, sure! great! thank you!"
"yeah, of course. i'll see you soon." chris said smiling.
"sure, okay bye!" kingsley said as she hung up with a sigh of joy.
suddenly she got a message.

dialogue:
"kingsley!" micha yelled as he walked up to the table the dance team was sorting posters at with vinnie, trevor, and sam behind him.
"hey, micha." kingsley laughed.
"your food." vinnie smiled setting a chick-fil-a bag that had blotches of grease over it down on the table.
"thank you, vin! you're the best!" kingsley said as she hugged vinnie.
"can i have a fry?" maggie asked eyeing her bag.
"no." kingsley said.
"i'm taking a fry." maggie said grabbing a handful.
"oh, let me get some!" micha said sticking out his hand as maggie gave me a few. as she did this trevor reached to grab some from her bag.
"quick taking my fries!" she yelled slapping trevors hand away.
"can i have one?" vinnie asked looking down at kingsley who was already focusing back on her posters. the pre-competition rush was stressful every year.
"yeah, take as many as you want." she smiled not looking up as vinnie grabbed a few, shoving them in his mouth.
"that's so unfair! i never got fries!" trevor yelled.
"well, i'm her boyfriend," vinnie said with a stuffed mouth as he shrugged. "and i payed for them, you jackass." he turned back to kingsley. "see you tomrrow!" he hollered before flashing her a wink and walking away. kingsley smiled, looking back down at her posters.

kingsley shut her car door and walked up to vinnie's door, kocking on it a few times before reggie, vinnie's older brother, opened it.
"hey, kingsley! good job tonight! congrats on first!" he said with a smile letting her in.
"thank you so much! and thanks for coming!"
"yeah, no problem. my parents went out to eat but i'm sure they're gonna wanna talk to you when they come home."
"oh, okay, sweet!"
"he's upstairs." reggie smiled walking to the kitchen.
kingsley jogged up the stairs and lightly knocked on vinnie's door that was slightly pushed open.
"come in!" vinnie called out from his bed.
kingsley slowly walked in and smiled at vinnie who was now putting his phone on his side table.
"hey kings!" he said as he ran up to hug her, slightly picking her up off the ground. "you did so good, baby."
"thank you, vin. thanks for coming." she smiled as she sat her down.
"are you kidding me? i wouldn't miss it for the world." he sat sitting down on his bed again, kingsley following him.
"i'm so excited to be free!" she said flopping down on the bed. "now, i have to do is dance at stupid football games and go to your games." she smiled.
vinnie laughed and leaned down. placing a kiss on her lips. kingsley grabbed the back of his neck, staying there a little longer, then letting go. vinnie detached his lips from hers but didn't move his head so when he spoke, his lips slightly brushed against hers.
"i can't wait to watch you dance a football games." he whispered, giving kingsley goosebumps as he kissed her again.

"you're so lucky." maggie huffed as she sat in kingsley's passenger seat, looking out of the window as the rain softly hit. "i want a vinnie."
"you'll get the best boyfriend ever soon, mags, i can feel it." kingsley said, not looking away from the road.
"yeah but why do you have some prince charming that brings you food at lunch when you're stressed and sits front row at every single one of your shows and walks you to class everyday."
"you're being dramatic." kingsley laughed.
"easy for you to say!" maggie said right as her phone dinged. "you got a text."
"can you read it for me?"
"vinnie said 'seven' with a question mark."
"say yes."
"what's happening at seven?" maggie asked as she sent the text.
"we're going to dinner."
"i hate you." maggie laughed as she set kingsley phone down.

kingsley was in her room when she heard mumbling down the hallway. she added final touches to her makeup and headed out of her room.
"so you only have six classes?" lauren, kingsley's little sister, asked as vinnie and kingsley's dad stood in the door way.
"yeah, if you jump math and start a language in middle school, you'll have the credits done by now.
"hey, vinnie!" kingsley smiled.
"hey!"
"it was nice talking to you, vinnie." kingsley's dad said sticking his hand out.
"you too, sir." vinnie responded, shaking his hand and making eye contact.
as soon as the door was shut, vinnie grabbed kingsley's hand.
"you look cute."
"thank you, vin." kingsley blushed. "so where are we going?" she asked as soon as she and vinnie were in the car.
"surprise." vinnie smiled.
"no! tell me!"
"surprise!" he repeated.
"no." kingsley laughed.
"what do you mean 'no'?" vinnie said glancing over to kingsley.
"hey, eyes on the road, idiot!" she laughed pointing to the dash board. "i haven't eaten dinner yet! and i'm hungry!"
"i can tell." vinnie joked.
"vinnie!"
"i'm sorry! you'll eat." vinnie chuckled as he put a hand on her thigh.
"in the next hour?" kingsley asked.
"in the next thirty minutes." vinnie responded, softly rubbing her thigh.
"fine." kingsley huffed, pretending to be mad causing vinnie to laugh.
