Present Time

It felt different the moment Seoyeon and I split apart from each other.

We weren't necessarily together, but it was that loneliness that made me begin to think that we were.. that we were together.

All those sleepless nights wondering how she was doing with her life and if she was doing better off without me, tortured me to death. My camera had several memory cards filled with pictures that I have yet to delete, and some that are meant to stay.

But that's when I realized that it were those moments that I missed, moments with her that made me feel like myself, like I was on cloud 9. It were those moments that I missed where I was so carefree, with her by my side.

But it all took one mistake.

And it was that stupid rule. Rule number 3.

It was that stupid 'fake' relationship that torn the two of us apart.

But mistakes are obstacles that help a person from moving forward and to either learn from it, or use it to make something or someone just as better than before.

And I was bound to make rule number 3 an exception.

Because I was falling in love with Seoyeon.. she just didn't know, yet.

Past - A Year Ago...

(Seoyeon's POV)

I sat outside of the classroom, drawing circles on my paper. I've been sitting outside the math class for about half the morning, waiting for Jungkook to finish his exam. I guess you could say I was pretty dedicated, for a best friend.

After two months worth of trying to help him with his math, today was his final exam day where he could prove that he knew his stuff. But two months worth of tutoring Jungkook meant spending some nights together, explaining and going through tough questions that he hated the most.

Two months of helping him out, but somehow, it made me nervous. What if two months just wasn't enough? What if he doesn't pass his final exam?

I huffed out a pocket of air, placing my head against the wall. Suddenly, the door opened and I looked up to see Jungkook standing there with a blank expression on his face.

"How was it?" I stood up onto my feet, looking at him.

He glanced at me, his eyes filled with disappointment and doubt. I knew that look. I pursed my lips into a line, my head beginning to hang low.

But then, I looked back up at him to flash a reassuring smile.

"There's always a next time, right?" I sadly smiled, patting his shoulder. "I don't mind tutoring you again."

He handed me a packet of long foolscap paper, folded in his hands just so that the students around us wouldn't be able to see his final mark. I took it from him, unfolded the foolscap paper to see his grade.

I scrunched my nose in confusion, a 96%?

He passed?

"But I thought you said you failed—" I began only to felt himself crush me with a tight embrace.

I stiffened for a moment, only to finally relax underneath his touch. Hugging him back, I felt him snuggle into my neck. I rubbed his back, smiling wide as ever.

"You scared me, dude." I whispered and he chuckled. "I guess I don't need to tutor you again, you seem like you're doing well."

"Thank you," he pulled away from the hug and I realized that his face was inches away from mine.

I looked into his eyes, noticing how beautiful they looked close-up. They looked like stars hidden underneath the dark sky. His eyes were something hidden, something that you had to search for. He cupped my cheeks with his hands, pulling my face closer to his.

I had no idea what the fuck was going on, but I knew that something bad was about to go down. I had that gut feeling inside of me, telling me otherwise of what I knew was going to happen.

In a matter of seconds, his lips were on mine, and I felt myself stiffen once again. His lips tasted of mint, burning my lips whenever he deepened the kiss. It was a burning sensation that made me crave more and more. His lips were plump, so full that it overpowered my own.

He pulled away from the passionate kiss and smiled, "thank you, Seoyeon."

I smiled, but that weird gut feeling inside of me was still felt within me. And I didn't know what it was. But I was bound to find out.

(Narrator's POV)

In the corner of his eye, he saw Haeun standing about a metre away. Haeun's hands balled into fists, and she started to walk away from them, pushing people out of her way in the process. Jungkook felt himself smile with victory on the inside.

The only problem was that Seoyeon was stuck in the moment, stuck in the moment of kissing Jungkook. She didn't see Haeun, the only reason being that she's slowly falling in love with Jungkook.

But she just didn't know, yet.

They say that your eyes are the windows of your soul, and Seoyeon believed it. It was the look in Jungkook's eyes that made her start to fall in love with him, but that was the only thing that she couldn't believe.

She couldn't believe that she's beginning to fall in love with her ex-enemy, her best friend..

Her fake boyfriend.

~~~~
"You look pretty dazed today, huh?" Bora smiled, hugging her textbooks to herself as she looked at her best friend who seemed like she was high up in the clouds. "What did you eat?"
Seoyeon glanced at her, shrugging her shoulders, "Jungkook passed his math exam, and I'm proud of that."
"Proud of him passing?" Bora raised an eyebrow, "or proud of him?"
Seoyeon looked ahead, shrugging her shoulders yet again, "I have no idea. But I'm proud, and that's what matters."
"Oh god," Bora rolled her eyes, "don't tell me that you're just fucking confused."
"I'm not." Seoyeon reassured her, "I'm just proud that Jungkook passed."
Bora stopped in her tracks, pulling Seoyeon's shoulders back to face her. She folded her arms, looking at the dazed girl who looked like she was daydreaming. Bora squinted her eyes at the girl, tilting her head to the side.
"Seoyeon," Bora began, "is there something you should tell me?"
Seoyeon seemed like she was deaf, almost like she didn't even hear Bora. It went through one ear and out the other. Bora eyed her suspiciously, only to widen her eyes.
"I know that look, Seoyeon." Bora shook Seoyeon's shoulders, causing her to snap out of her trance.
"What look?" Seoyeon asked and Bora shook her head in disappointment. "What look?! Bora, you're scaring me!"
"You look like you're in love, Seoyeon." Bora started, and it was Seoyeon's turn for her eyes to widen. "Don't tell me that you're in love with Jungkook."
"W-What?" Seoyeon stuttered, shaking her head. "I'm not in love with him!"
"Sure you aren't." Bora rolled her eyes, "I know that look, Seoyeon. And when I see that look, it's pretty serious."
"He kissed me," she whispered, and Bora gasped in surprise.
Bora stared at the girl who suddenly got so shy under her gaze. Seoyeon's head hung low, and Bora started to feel guilty. Seoyeon looked up, back at Bora, "am I falling in love? With him?"
Bora pulled her into a hug, rubbing circles into her back, "oh, Seoyeon.. that's something that you should find out yourself. But for now, with that look on your face, it looks like you are."
"No.." Seoyeon whispered, trying not to believe what's starting to change her slowly.. but surely. "I can't fall in love with him."
"You can't fall out of love, Seoyeon." Bora explained, "and you definitely cannot stop yourself from falling in love with someone."
"What do I do now?" Seoyeon sighed with anger, "he's just too cute to resist, so handsome that I can't stop staring at him."
"You have two options." Bora looked at her seriously. "You have one option of continuing this fake relationship without telling him that you're in love with him, or another option of stopping this fake relationship by telling him that you're in love with him."
"You're telling me this as if it's an easy set of options to choose from." Seoyeon looked away from Bora, her eyes beginning to get hooded from her eyebrows that were furrowing.
"If I were you," Bora began, "I would pick your poison as soon as possible, before things get worse, before you fall deeper in love with him."
~~~~

She had no idea where she was going to go with this option, but she knew that both options were bound to give a bad result.

But she couldn't just leave Jungkook hopeless, she couldn't let Jungkook do all the work in trying to get his ex back. Although it did hurt Seoyeon, she just didn't want to let the one she loves the most to get hurt in the end.

And when you're in love, you make the most stupidest decisions ever. But the funny thing is, you don't know how stupid you are when you're in love.

When you're heart-broken, that's when you begin to realize how stupid you were when you were in love.

It was definitely a bitter-sweet feeling.

And it was definitely a bitter-sweet feeling to see a shirtless Jungkook standing right in front of her.

"A-Are you gonna put a shirt on?" She stuttered, avoiding his gaze.

He smirked, starting to flex his muscles that were completely evident underneath his clothes that were once on his body. Maybe it was a bad idea for Seoyeon to enter into his room without knocking.. or maybe not.

Her eyes would somehow find its way towards his chocolate abs that looked like they were specifically worked hard on just to show off at some point. But whenever she would feel her cheeks flush, she would immediately divert her eyes towards the white walls of his room.

Funny how she didn't drop his glass of orange juice on the floor yet.

"Like what you're seeing?" He grinned and she quickly shook her head vigorously.

"M-Me? Of course not." She tried to fan her face whenever he wasn't looking, just so that her flushed cheeks would finally become neutral once again. "Why are you even shirtless in the first place? Put a shirt on you cocky asshole."

"Oh, so the foul language escapes when you blush like a tomato.. I see." He nodded his head, finding several ways in teasing her.

Her cheeks flushed even more, she probably looked like the reddest tomato you could find in a supermarket. She rolled her eyes, "I'm just.. it's really hot in here, do you mind turning on the AC or something?"

"Hot in here or is it just me?" He chuckled and she bit her lip, furrowing her eyebrows.

"I'm here to drop of your orange juice, not here to stare at your bare chest, you fucking asshole." She swore, pinching herself to stop herself from swearing so much.

"I think you should have it instead, you look pretty.. heated." He started to walk over towards her, pointing towards her cheek and her eyes started to widen.

Shirtless Jungkook was making his way closer to her, and in a matter of seconds, she felt the wall against her back. She shivered just by how cold it was, jumping and immediately touching his shoulders as she moved away from the wall.

She only realized what she has done until she looked up to see how close his body was to hers. Her eyes widened even more, and she quickly let go of him, storming out of the bed room.

She shut the door behind her, letting out a sigh. She leaned against the door, slapping her forehead for acting so dumb. She sighed again, only to felt her lips tug into a smile.

And for the first time, Seoyeon thought Jungkook looked attractive.

~~~~
"I can't believe you saw me shirtless," Jungkook chuckled, and she playfully slapped him in the arm.
She looked up at the stars, and then back at Jungkook. He looked like he was so deep in his own thought, and she wondered if he was thinking about Haeun. She wondered if he was still in love with her, and she wondered if she wasn't the only one that was slowly falling in love because of this fake relationship.
"If you had one wish and only one, what would you wish for?" She suddenly asked, and Jungkook's eyes met hers.
He shrugged his shoulders, "I honestly don't know what I would wish for, but for now, I would wish that I wasn't such a boring person."
She looked at him confusedly, "a boring person? You think that you're boring?"
He nodded his head, looking away from her, "if Haeun was the one that broke up with me, that only meant that she probably got bored of me."
She frowned, sitting up and looking down at him as he shut his eyes. He was never boring, and she discovered that he was actually much more social when he had fun. He became more talkative when he had fun. Seoyeon just couldn't believe that Haeun would leave him like that.
"If you don't mind me asking.. why did she break up with you?" She began, his eyes opening.
"She said she was in love with someone else." He said in barely a whisper and she couldn't help but frown even more. "And that stopping this relationship would be better for the two of us."
"And you still love her?" He nodded and he sighed.
"Sometimes, when you love someone that much, you would do anything and everything for them." He pursed his lips into a line. "You would do anything and everything just so that you can get that person who makes you the happiest, back."
"But sometimes, when you love someone that much, you also have to give them what they want." She added, "she might not love you forever, Jungkook. She might not love you the same way she did when you guys were together."
"I know," he sighed angrily, "and I hate that. Sometimes I wonder what I didn't have compared to that dickhead."
"I guess this is what happens when you're in love," she gave him a sad smile and he tilted his head.
"You've never been in love before?" He asked and she slowly nodded her head. "What?! I thought you would've had at least one boyfriend."
She shook her head, "I've never been in a relationship nor have I fallen in love, but I think I am."
"You think you're falling in love with someone?" He questioned and she smiled.
"You don't really know if you're in love with someone, unless your heart tells you otherwise." She explained, and he felt himself starting to smile. "And if I do fall in love with someone, I just wish that they would be the best prince charming ever."
"You know, for a beginner, you sound like an expert." He grinned.
"Thanks," She chuckled, "I guess I could say you're an expert too, but at this point, you actually suck at break-ups."
"You know, you deserve someone who'll treat you right." He started and she glanced up at the stars. "Someone who won't treat you like a fake girlfriend, someone that's not.. me."
She looked at him again, "why not?"
"You wouldn't want to date me," he bitterly smiled, "I'm the worst boyfriend ever."
"Well then explain to me how Haeun fell for you in the first place?" Seoyeon sat on her butt. "Haeun probably thinks that you're the best boyfriend ever. I remember seeing how you cared for her when you guys were still together. Sometimes, I wish I had someone like you as my boyfriend."
"Are you indirectly telling me that you like me?" He squinted his eyes at her suspiciously.
She shook her head, "I don't like you, trust me."
"Good," he sighed with relief and she gave him a questioning look. "I just don't want you falling in love with me."
And right at that moment, Seoyeon realized, that she had fallen in love for Jungkook.. really hard.
6 Months into the Fake Relationship...
"Why didn't you tell me that it was your birthday?"
She shrugged her shoulders, looking at Jungkook who was standing outside in her backyard. She opened the window and tried to wave him off. He placed his hands into his pockets.
"Are you telling me to go away?" Jungkook asked and she shook her head.
"Just go back home, my birthday isn't that special, all I want to do is sleep." She sighed, and Jungkook shook his head to disagree.
"We're going out," he forced her, "and I'll drag you out of your house whether you like it or not."
"Ugh, why did I agree to even be friends with you." She shut her window and she made her way towards the front porch.
In the process of walking to her bedroom door she heard Jungkook yell from outside, "because you love me!"
She burst out into laughter, skipping down the stairs and meeting him at the front. He pulled her out in an instant, and he shoved her into his car without permission. It was almost like a kidnapping scene, but the only difference was that Seoyeon wasn't screaming for help.
"Once we get there, I'm going to tell everyone that you kidnapped me." She bit her lip to contain the happiness that was beginning to explode.
"You won't do that because I'm your best friend." He smiled, starting the car, "and anyways, I'm special because I remembered your birthday."
She frowned, looking away from him because her eyes started to water. No one remembered her birthday, aside from Taehyung, Bora, and Jungkook. Her parents were never memorable when it came to occasions. She remembered the last time they celebrated her birthday before they all went to America to work abroad. They never call to check up on her, and she runs the house as if she pays the rent.
Sometimes she wonders if they fully forgot about their own daughter.
Jungkook noticed how she suddenly got quiet, and thought that he had to find out why. He drove to the amusement park that was filled with rollercoasters. The moment they parked in their parking spot, Jungkook felt himself smile at how Seoyeon looked when she looked out the window.
She looked like a child on Christmas Day, just about to open her presents. She immediately got out of the car when the doors unlocked, going to his side and pulling him as soon as they can to get into the park grounds.
"I knew you would like it here," he chuckled as they finally stepped foot onto the amusement park grounds.
"Can we go on that ride?" She pointed towards the tall rollercoaster that had a drop of almost 90 degrees.
His eyes widened like saucers, "for a girl, you're actually brave."
"Are you scared?" She teased and he shook his head.
"I'm just surprised that you love rollercoasters.." He glanced at her with a funny look. "Haeun hated rollercoasters.. meanwhile, I loved them."
"Really?" She bit her lip, grabbing his hand. "Well then, let's go on it before the chance is gone!"
He couldn't help but smile in victory for finally seeing her smile on her face. It was that feeling of success that he felt when he saw how excited she was when they came to the amusement park. And he started to love that feeling.
~~~~

It was a day filled with rides and rollercoasters, and Seoyeon couldn't help herself but feel thrilled. They finally took a rest and sat by a food stand, eating food. But for the first time, Jungkook paid for the food.. without complaining.

"I loved the drop, it was amazing. I love the feeling." She rambled on and Jungkook stared at her as she continued to rave about the rollercoasters that they went on.

"I'm actually glad you love rollercoasters. It's been a long time since I've been on one since Taehyung and I went." He grinned and she tilted her head.

"When did you guys go?" She asked and he shrugged his shoulders.

"About a year ago? I remember it was before Haeun and I started dating." He explained and she stared at him, "but when we started dating I couldn't go on rollercoasters because of her."

"Oh," she nodded her head, "is that like a fear of hers?"

He shook his head, "she's not
