"Would you like to add on any appetizers?" The blonde haired waitress asked as she leaned forward and began to play with her hair all while keeping her gaze focused on Bucky.

I rolled my eyes as I saw him beginning to turn bright red. Unbelievable. The dude had better luck with one arm then most guys had with two, and right now he seriously was only going around with one arm.

Apparently, I can't be trusted to so much as go to a pizzeria without skipping town. In spite of my protesting, Bucky decided that he would escort me to wherever I wanted to go. However, a metal arm isn't exactly commonplace in a beach resort town. So now he was masquerading around with one arm, a baseball cap, and a touristy T-shirt. Honestly, he looked like every other sightseer that was traipsing about the island.

"What would you suggest?" Bucky leaned forward as well as he began to flirt. It was sickening, absolutely sickening.

"Well." She slowly began. "Our Cheese Bread is very popular."

"That's not the only thing that's suddenly popular." I muttered under my breath as another waitress began to make googly eyes at Bucky. I held back a groan as the blonde slipped him her phone number. She waved goodbye as she bitterly began to help a couple teenage girls with their order.

"Wow." I sarcastically muttered as Bucky turned to face me. "I'm speechless."

"What?" He innocently glanced over at me as he pretended that he was completely oblivious to what I was talking about.

"I'm just trying to imagine how big of a player you were with both arms." I smiled as I crossed my arms.

"I remember you being so much more agreeable under the mind control." He joked.

"Right back atcha Snowflake." I joked as I blew the straw wrapper at him. Direct hit.

He smirked as he brushed the wrapper out of his face. "So you're what sixteen?"

"I guess." I shrugged. "It's not like I know when my birthday was, and the whole deep freeze thing really did put a damper on things." I paused. "You're like what? 100?"

"Sixteen." Bucky shook his head as he continued to ignore me.

"What about it?" I questioned as I began to play with my hair.

"I did a lot of things when I was sixteen." His face paled as he reflected on that thought. "I was looking over past camera feed from New York and I saw you and Parker at subway station."

"Oh yeah?" My eyes barely rose. Where was he going with this? Oh fudge.

"Was he your uh first?" He glanced away as he began to awkwardly clear his throat.

"First kiss?" I smirked. "No way."

"No?" Bucky paled a little as he again returned his focus to me.

"The first was Bentley."

"Bentley?"

"Yeah. He was tall, dark, and handsome." I smirked as I glanced around the Pizzeria. Bentley had been my neighbor's overly friendly chocolate lab, but I really felt no need to enlighten Buck on this minute detail anytime soon.

"So are you and Parker?" Bucky's voice trailed off.

"No. No way." I exclaimed in horror. "He's Peter."

"I know, and He likes you."

"No, he doesn't." I argued.  "And besides." I shrugged. "I don't like him like that." I glanced back down at the table. There was also the fact that I'd killed his parents, and honestly, that's not something one can just overlook.

"Really?" Without looking up, I could tell Bucky was enjoying himself. "You're awfully red for not liking him."

"We're just friends." I argued. "And besides, I'm pretty sure he has a girlfriend." Actually I was 100% sure. It's amazing what one can learn from social media. "So do you have a special someone?" I leaned forward with a grin.

"I don't have time." He smirked. "I'm too busy trying to keep a certain someone out of trouble."

"Anyone I know?"

"You might have meant her a time or two." He joked as the waitress returned with the cheese bread and pizza.

After watching another awkward encounter between the two, I was soon happily stuffing myself with the hot pizza.

"So." Bucky slowly began as he reached for another slice of pizza. "The reason I'm here."

"Wasn't entirely to buy me pizza?" I exclaimed as I took another slice of cheese bread. As much as I disliked the shallow blonde, she was right; the bread was good. Then again, I've never found a carb that I didn't like.

"The Avengers. Barton thinks you might be a good recruit."

"Are you an Avenger?" I questioned as I glanced up.

"Not exactly." He hesitated. "I may still be considered wanted by the US Government."

"Still?" I rolled my eyes. "Dumb Accords." I shrugged. "Not that it's really matters, I don't want to be an Avenger. It's not me. I don't exactly work well with others." I paused as I waited to see if he would argue with me.

"Then what's your plan?" He quietly asked.

"I want to help people, but not in the spotlight."

"Alone?" His voice was barely a whisper as his penetrating gaze pierced through me.

I quietly set my pizza down; I suddenly didn't feel very hungry. How else could I get him to understand that I didn't want anyone else I cared about to die because of me? In all honesty, he was probably the one person left that actually cared about what happened to me. He was someone I couldn't lose again.

I distractedly looked around the pizzeria as I tried to figure out another conversation topic. My gaze stopped upon seeing a family in the pizzeria's arcade. Two little girls were excitedly begging their parents to help them win a game. I continued to watch as their dad gently helped them throw the balls into the holes. The littlest child squealed in delight as she made a bullseye. The empty feeling in the pit of my stomach came rushing back. They had something I would never have; something I would trade everything to gain.

"You ok?" Bucky's serious tone pulled my focus back to the conversation at hand.

"I." I began to stammer as I my gaze darted down to focus on my plate. "Can we go?"

He soberly nodded as he waved the waitress over. Within minutes, we were beginning the trek back to the smoldering motel. "What's going on with you?" He began to question.

I lengthened my stride in a last minute effort to remain somewhat in control of my emotions. Focus. I had to focus. I set my gaze on my surroundings and allowed myself to fully take in the palm trees, Spanish moss, and 'Beware of Alligator' signs.

"What the license plate number of the Red Mustang?" Bucky's serious voice broke through my rushing thoughts.

"North Carolina plate." I closed my eyes as I began to focus on the image that was growing clearer in my head. "AOA-015." I paused as I opened my eyes. "The left tail light is out." I turned to glance back at him.

He nodded as a slight smile appeared on his face.

"Did you ever meet Tony Stark?" I hastily asked.

"That's totally off topic." He abruptly stopped as a confused expression began to spread across his face.

"Well? Did you?" I crossed my arms as I continued to wait.

He nodded. "Yeah. A couple times."

"Is he as full of himself as he seems on tv? I mean he seems pretty arrogant." I began to rush as a plan began to form in the back of my mind.

"Yep. That's a pretty accurate assessment." He grimaced.

"Why am I getting the vibe that you don't like him?" I focused on Bucky. He looked like he wanted to avoid this conversation; which naturally only made me more curious.

"Hydra made me kill his parents." He began. "I don't really know him. I mean he was mad about his parents which I get." He paused. "I knew his dad way back when."

"Oh yeah?" Interesting. Maybe having info on Howard Stark would give me an advantage over his son.

"He was too smart for his own good and didn't know when to keep his mouth shut. Reminds me of someone else I know." He shot a knowing glare at me.

I smirked at his reaction as I turned back to focus on my newest bright and most likely bad idea.

Tonight. I had to return the glasses tonight. It wasn't my most thought out plan, but maybe that would give me an advantage.

Stark would be expecting me at his cabin, and that was why I would return the glasses to his Malibu Mansion.

I could copy a couple files and then disappear to safely devise a plan to stop whatever Dare was scheming. After all, what was the worst that could happen?
