Four.
Ding!
My phone buzzed and it was a text from James.
James: Hey! I'll be there in 10!
I slipped on some nude heels, grabbed my purse and waited outside.
My parents went for a quick run to the store, so they'd be back in about 15 minutes; perfect timing.
10 minutes went by, and he still wasn't here. I kept checking the time on my phone, until I decided just to keep waiting. There was probably just some traffic. Maybe? But he lives down the street.
I felt a cool breeze, and decided to go back in for my sweatshirt. I jiggled the door handle, and it was locked. Great.
I went to the front door, and that was locked too. I checked my purse for the spare key, and it was missing.
All of a sudden, I saw car headlights pull into my driveway. Then another car.
I walked around the corner not only to be faced with James, but my parents too.
They were furious, and told James to stay away from me.
My parents walked me inside, and he began to drive away.
Immediately, I pulled out my phone and texted him.
Me: Hey, hang around the corner. I'll sneak out.
"How could you?" My mom scolded.
"And after we both told you no!" My dad
chimed in.
"Look I'm really sorry. Can I just go in my room?" I pleaded, looking as innocent as possible.
"Fine, I'm tired anyways. But you are never to see him again, you hear me?"
I walked upstairs acting tired as ever. I shut my bedroom door and climbed out of the window, going to meet James around the corner.
