Makoto Naegi walked calmly through the school halls of Hope's Peak Academy. He was going to the school library, where he would spend most of his break time.
Naegi wasn't very good at making friends outside of his year group and even so most of his friends outside of his class were introduced to him by others. His closer friends, Kyoko Kirigiri, Byakuya Togami, Shuichi Saihara and Hajime Hinata were probably the only people he'd even bother to start a conversation with, although Naegi knew something nobody else did about someone - specifically one of those four beings mentioned before.
Togami didn't have the ability to see.
Byakuya Togami sat quietly at one of the desks in the library reading a book in braille. He didn't have the ability to see unless it was out the corner of his eyes after a fight to the death with his siblings for the Togami name, of which he won at the young age of nine, although he wanted to keep that information secret even though his most trusted 'friend' did know of his disability.
He has mastered braille as if he had already learned around ten other languages and had got the hang of it, learning it all in around half a year.
"Togami-san, a-ah.. sorry... But is this seat taken?" Someone asks. Togami nodded his head silently, not looking up from his book. He recognised the voice, it had come from the second most feminine boy he had ever met, Shuichi Saihara being the first.
It was the only person in the world he considered a 'friend', Makoto Naegi.

It was after school. I sat in the same place I had been sitting in for hours, reading the fifth manga out of the series I had started when I came into the library. I would borrow, but I don't really have the space in my dorm room considering how much homework is piled up everywhere. Kirigiri had asked me to take a break a few times, although I didn't comply.
I kept reading and reading until I suddenly felt a heavy weight on my body, and heard a crash. "H-huh?" I scanned my surroundings and eventually my eyes landed right in front of me, where I saw short, blonde hair. As flustered as I am, I poke this mysterious person's head in confusion, earning a groan.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" This mysterious person sat up, sitting on the hardwood floor in front of me. "A-ah! I'm sorry!" I say, waving my hands in front of me excessively. "Hm, not the best of surprises." Togami scoffs at me, standing up. I stared at Togami for a few seconds before asking something I certainly wouldn't regret. "Togami-san, your disability seems to cause a bit of trouble for you, so I was thinking maybe uh... I could be your aid or something?"
"You seriously think I'd want help from the likings of you?" Togami states, salty as always. "A-ah... Right... Sorry..." I frown, and pick up my manga again.
"Fine. It's not like you're going to be of any help though." I hear from next to me as I feel another heavy weight on the beanbag. "Although since I'm doing this purely pit of curiosity, you owe me something." Togami smirks.
