It was around eleven thirty at night and Makoto still hadn't come back from work. I was beyond worried. I knew it was like this a lot, but even so, he should have come home an hour ago. I lay in our soft bed, staring at the ceiling fan. I couldn't sleep at all, not until Makoto had come back. I decided to get out of bed and go downstairs, hoping to be treated by Makoto entering.
Nobody.
I walked outside barefoot, despite the snow falling. I didn't care about hypothermia at this time, only Makoto.
I searched the street with my eyes, trying to find Makoto's car, until eventually I saw it. Without hesitation, I ran towards the small, black car as if my life depended on it, or more, his life.
"Makoto?"
I could hear sobbing. It was muffled at first, but it became louder as I ran towards the car.
What I saw hurt my heart, I thought there was nothing that could hurt more.
Makoto was crying- no, balling his eyes out.
I opened the door, surprised it was unlocked.
"Makoto?"
He turned his head. "By-ak-uy-" Makoto choked our between sobs, then before he could even react, I wrapped my arms around him.
"Bya-ku-ya!" He cried into my shoulder. I had no idea what was going on, but I tried to calm Makoto down to the best of my ability.

I wasn't good enough. Far from good enough. I felt as if the world around me was crumbling down upon me. I cried and cried, still in the driver's seat of my small car.
My boss's wordsrang in my head. "Not good enough."
"Not good enough."
"Not good enough."
"You're not good enough."
"Y o u ' r e n o t g o o d e n o u g h."
"Makoto?"
It was Byakuya's voice. The only one keeping me from moving from this world to the next.
"By-ak-uy-" I barely choked out between my sobs.
Before I knew it, Byakuya had embraced me, and wouldn't let go. I gave in to him. "Bya-ku-ya!". I repeated his name, crying into his shoulders.
"I'm not- good eno-enough! I c-can't do any-thing!" I yelled.
Byakuya Togami's POV
"I'm not- good eno-enough! I c-can't do any-thing!" Makoto cried.
"Hey, Makoto, calm down." I said, rubbing his shoulders, although he wouldn't. I sighed, and cupped his face with my hands. Not knowing was to do, I kissed him. It wasn't a peck, it was sweet, and tenderly. He kissed back. "Makoto. If you weren't good enough, I don't think I would be here right now. Kirigiri wouldn't still be your best friend. I don't think you realise how happy you make everyone around you feel. If you ask me, you're beyond good enough. Beyond perfect if there even is such a thing."
Suddenly, Makoto had pulled me in for another kiss, this one lasting a little bit longer than the previous.
"Thank you, Byakuya."
