FIONA's POV

Magnolia is called the city of the rich and famous although it's a small country. What they don't know is that there is one percent of poor people living there.

Some people live in Magnolia to grow their business, knowing fully well rich people may patronize them.

I got there by luck, how it happened is what I can't remember, all I remember is that I've been running my whole life, the streets is not a safe place and I learned the hard way, because of my unstable shape-shifting, humans freaked out and threw things at me whenever I get exposed by midnight.

This city was my last hope, I heard they gave no attention to the poor and that's all I needed to live a quiet life. You can get almost everything you want here with money and that's how I rented a house at fifteen and got some part-time jobs to survive.

I heard about "Dian high school" the best school and enrolled for a scholarship, there were rumors of a massive failure in the exams. When the C.E.O was interviewed and asked he replied "If the exams were easy don't you think everyone will enroll and the school will be overcrowded?"

But I knew I could do it, human intelligence was no match for mine so I enrolled and passed with a few others.

Of course, the school was beautiful, its gates were golden and the enormous blue and white building occupied the center. It had a little garden by the corners and a place to sit and relax outside.

The hallway floor was silver, I could see my reflection every day, its royal blue lockers decorated with silver handle glitter too.

The white classrooms were heavily equipped with learning devices, and the cafeteria had a variety of tasty foods.

It was everyone's dream school, I had high expectations but most people there turned out to be not how I imagined them.

"Grrrrr!"

At last, it was the closing bell, I walked to my locker and packed my books, the hallway was filled with students, there was an announcement from the Principal.

"Good afternoon, something big is happening tomorrow so everyone is expected to come early for the proper welcoming of a teenage superstar. There will be no classes for two or more hours"

The voices of screaming students filled the air, everyone was jumping about, some girls gossiped about who they thought it was but that was not my problem.

I boarded a taxi and went home.

By 7:00 am the street of Dian Highschool was already flooded with people. It took me forever to squeeze through the crowd into the school building. Teachers and students were outside anticipating the arrival of this superstar.

One hour later we heard people screaming from outside the school building, the gates were opened, five expensive-looking black cars drove in, there was a limousine in between the four smaller cars.

The cheers of the people increased, closing both ears to protect my eardrums from exploding. I was pushed by racing schoolmates to the corner.

Men in black suits came from the smaller cars to open the limousine door. The whole street was in a simping chaotic state when a blonde-haired guy in black glasses came down.

If not for the protective shield of the men the celebrity would have been attacked by squealing ladies with phones.

The principal yelled "Students! Where are your manners?"

"Mr. Louis Walter, welcome to our humble school, we are more than happy you chose Dian high school"

I looked at him again and I noticed he was putting on our blue and black striped trousers, necktie, and white shirt uniform but with a black leather jacket instead of our matching jacket.

Just with a smile and nod, he got the crowd to scream so loud that I thought the school building would collapse, two guys casually walked through the men to talk with the star.

Of course, no one was surprised, Dylan and Jack are the richest among the rich, maybe they have met before.

They escorted him inside the school along with girls like flies chasing after a trash can.

The principal personally took Louis on a tour and ordered the students to escort him.

"It's crazy how humans can behave because of fame and money, he's just a boy. Why do we have to worship him?" I said inwardly.

My legs were killing me as we went to every class in the school and had to wait if he had any questions, only I seemed bothered the rest were beaming with smiles except some boys mumbling behind.

Finally, after we finished the tour, he was given a locker by the principal.

"Excuse me, Ma'am, I don't like this one" he quickly said.

"Oh, Louis, you can take anyone you like," she laughed.

I could hear the prayers of girls for him to be next to theirs because their whispers didn't sound like one.

"Hmm, I want to have the locker in between Dylan's and Jack's"

"Nice choice, it's yours" she showed Louis then he packed his things. He was given his schedule and the principal told him to tell her if he had a problem with it and she would change it

He just looked at the paper like it was blank

"Nah, I'm good"

The school bell drew everyone's attention.

"Thank you, students, you may now go to your classes"

We used more time than expected. I went to literature class and took my seat before the teacher's arrival.

I was listening until the door opened and Louis and his friends bounced in, seizing the attention of all.

"And where do you think you're going?" the teacher touched her glasses.

"Class?" Louis shook his head with an irritated look.

"Well class started thirty minutes ago"

"I'm still getting used to all these new school and stuff"

"And your friends who have been here for at least a year?"

"Ah, I asked them to help me with something" he walked to the back and took an empty seat.

He gestured to his friends to take a seat next to him and they did.

The teacher's eyebrows were furrowed and her cheeks puffed up. She turned and continued the explanation.

Girls seated in the front seats had their necks twisted in angle three hundred and sixty degrees, others stared at him with goo goo eyes half of their iris shifted into their eyelids.

When the bell jiggled Louis was surrounded by a group of people, it was like a swarm of bees around its honeycomb buzzing in imperfect harmony.

"Louis please come back" their voices echoed.

They kept begging until he turned on his heels leaning on the door  "Well if you insist I guess I'd stay" he said, folding his arms with a smug look.

Most rich kids give off the same attitude. It's the superiority complex, they are either worshipped or feared.

"One sec please" the crowd cleared the room for Louis and his friends to leave.

We were both heading to the door, I turned to the table intentionally waiting for him to pass to avoid any trouble. When he was out, I walked to my next class.

Finally it was break, I bought my food and settled in a quiet place.

Later he appeared again and everyone rushed to him, offering him a seat close to theirs, he chose to stay with his friends and they all left with disappointed faces.

He only allowed guys this time to sit and talk with him.

When I was done with mine I walked to the small garden staring at the flowers and grasses. I feel like I'm not alone every time I'm close to them.

The day was gradually coming to an end, it was art class. Mr. Edward, our teacher told us last week he would start pairing for assignments and our partners for the year. I was unlucky last year and was hoping for better.

"Students, good afternoon like I said before I will give you someone to work with for the year, I don't care if you hate their guts if you both care about grades you will learn to work together" he gave a speech then began to pair.

"Dylan and Jack"

"Gerda and Marie"

"Fiona and Susan"

Why was I born unlucky? Susan is fond of bullying poor students, especially those who don't worship her and I've always been her number one target.

"Now all of you have your partners, your first assignment is to paint a picture that represents what you both loves and-"

"Sir excuse me, I don't have a partner" Louis interrupted.

"Oh! I am so sorry Mr. Walter" he looked around and there was another hand up.

"Louis and Albert, there you go"

Louis measured him with his eyes and sighed.

"Sir I hope he's intelligent cuz he doesn't look like it, since I'm new I need proper guardian from the most intelligent"

He scratched his head then paused

"Okay, Louis. Albert and Susan, Louis and Fiona. She's the most intelligent student and I'm sure she'd cooperate well with you"
