"You wanted to see me boss?" Atsushi said standing at the door of the Mafia's bosses' door. "No need to be so shy, Atsushi comes closer." He smiled. Atsushi approached the boss, but was still standing about 6 feet away. "Alright, I have a mission for you. I need you to take out this girl," He began, handing Atsushi a piece of paper with the information. "She used to be in the mafia but left, and we don't know where she went. Having very valuable information that can't be shared. I fear she might snitch on the Mafia. So, she must be killed." He said sternly, Atsushi nodded. "I won't give you a time limit for this. Since she used to be in the Mafia she must know the Mafia is after her already. Meaning she might be in hiding, which could take a while to find her. Understood?"

"Understood, sir." Atsushi bowed.

"Great, on the paper there should be places where she might be located. Now best be on your way now." He said shooing Atsushi outside his office.

Atsushi looked down at the paper, he stuffed it in his pocket quickly.

"Really..are you sure you check every location.." The boss asked. "I'm positive sir, I double checked twice she wasn't there." Atsushi explained. "It's alright, it's only day 1 we can't be so sure. Tomorrow, scan the area's of these locations to see if you can find her. If not, report to me." Atsushi nodded, quickly exiting the room.

The next day, Atsushi had headed to the first location on the list that he was given to scan the area for the girl he was looking for. After looking for about 10 minutes he was about to leave when he heard running from behind him, he turned around but there was nothing. Confused and preparing himself for an ambush, followed the sounds of running. But as he reached where the sounds had disappeared he found nothing. "The hell..?" Atsushi murumed. "Must just be my head." He said placing his gun back into his holster.

1 MONTH LATER...

"It's been a month since I've assigned you this mission and I'm a little disappointed..Maybe I should hand this mission over to Akutagawa-kun.." The boss smirked, knowing how much the two hated one another. Atsushi shook his head, "No sir, I'll think I'll be able to find her soon sir." Atsushi bowed. "You better." He demanded. "I never thought it would take you this long, you're so useless." He spat. Sitting back down in his chair crossing his legs. "Sorry sir." Atsushi apologized. "Mhm. Just hurry up and get out." He said shooing Atsushi away.

Atsushi excited the agency, he was so frustrated in himself. Where the hell could you be hiding? He muttered curses as he walked away from the office, "Seems like you can't finish this mission of yours..how pathetic." Atsushi raised his head in anger, "Not now Akutagawa." Akutagwa scoffed, "Whatever." He said pushing Atsushi and walking away.

Atsushi unlocked the door to his apartment, and plopped himself onto his couch. "Damnit!" He shouted, placing his holster onto the table. Before he could do anything there was a knock on his door. He assumed it was Dazai or Chuuya coming to complain to him about one or the other. But to his shock it wasn't,

It was you. The girl he had been playing a game of hide and seek for a month, he was confused had you come to turn yourself in. Atsushi ran to grab his gun when you grabbed his hands. "Wait!" You began, "I know this looks bad but, let me explain, you're the only one who can help me." You explained. Atsushi sighed, "Fine." He said shoving you inside before anyone could see you.

You sat down, "Well?" Atsushi asked. "Basically, I am the girl you're looking for but I'm innocent." You explained. Atsushi crossed his arms, "What do you mean?" He questioned. "Well, whatever your boss had told you is false. He threatened to get me killed if I declined his offer to become his wife." You explained, "I don't have any information that could be used against the Mafia, at the time of my presents in the Mafia. I was a low ranked member. And I was barely shared anything unless it was for information for a mission. I caught the boss's eyes because of my looks." You summarized. Atsushi hummed, still not believing you. "How can I trust you, I can't really go off your word." Atsushi said sternly, picking up his gun. "Look! I know you can't just go off my word. But I promise I'm not making any of this up! How the hell would lying about this benefit me?" You said.

Atsushi paused, "You're right.." Atsushi thought for a few minutes and then placed his gun down. "Why the hell am I doing this.." Atsushi uttered. "So..what do you need help with?" Atsushi sighed. "I know this is alot to ask for but..could I stay here?" You asked. Atsushi's eyes widened, "Hell no?! I could get killed if the boss finds out you're staying here with me?!" Atsushi shouted. "Ok! But if you keep up the act he'll never know." You suggested. "Why the hell should I?! You just come up out of nowhere and ask for my help." Atsushi grumbled. You bowed, "Please. It's only until your boss gives up on looking for me." You cried.

Atsushi rubbed his temples, "You're lucky I'm not like other Mafia members. I show mercy to most of my victims. If you had gone to anyone else I doubt they'd help you." He groaned. "I know. That's why I chose you for your help." You said. Atsushi raised a confused eyebrow, "Why..and how do you know that." Atsushi said, backing away from you. "I'm not some sort of stalker idiot. Like I said I was in the Mafia and when I was in the Mafia you were to, I know very little about you. But all over the Mafia your nickname is, A merciful tiger. That's why I thought you would be able to help me out." You said.

"I had a nickname..?" Atsushi blinked.

"Yeah."

"Oh.."

"Off topic!" Atsushi sighed. "It's pretty late. You can sleep in the guest bedroom, it's down the hall in the next room next to the bathroom." Atsushi said. You nodded, "Thank you." before you left Atsushi grabbed your wrist, "Also I would like to know the name of the person I'll be living with?" Atsushi asked. "Oh! Yes..my name is (Y/N) (L/N)? Did the boss not give you that information" You said, confused. Atsushi shook his head, "Nope." He said, "Well goodnight." He said walking towards his room. "Goodnight.." You hummed.

Now you all might be thinking, Who in their right mind would want to stay with the person that is literally trying to kill them. You would, because you were literally in the mafia and anyone in the Mafia clearly isn't mentally stable. You plopped yourself onto the bed, you couldn't deny that it wasn't comfy but. You didn't feel right sleeping, knowing that at any time he could come in and kill you. So you'd basically stayed up the whole night.

You stretched, "Ahh...I'm so tired." You murmured. You looked over, "8:57?!" You shouted. "I fell asleep...well at least I'm not dead." You sighed. You walked out the room, and walked towards the living room to see a note.

Went to work, don't leave the house for any reason. There's food in the fridge.

"Ooo.." You said. "Never expected a mafia member to be so kind to the one he is needed to kill.'" You said placing yourself onto the couch.

1 MONTH LATER

"Boss, it's been about 3 months, are you sure she's still in yokohama?" Dazai yawned. Dazai Osamu, Port Mafia executive. After the boss has resigned, or dies he is next in line for the position of boss. "Shut up Dammit your annoying me." Chuuya huffed, angry that he was placed next to the boy. Chuuya Nakahara mafia executive and Dazai's Partner. But Atsushi doesn't really know which partner he is. "I wasn't talking to you I was talking to (B/N)" Dazai snarled back harshly. Chuuya rolled his eyes, and the boss coughed to get everyone's attention back on him. "As I was saying, I want Dazai, Chuuya, and Akutagwa to join your mission, Atsushi. I just don't think you'll be able to complete it on your own." He said. Atsushi wanted to say something, he wanted to say that he could do it on his own. But, there was no point. The girl he was looking for was living with him, so there was no point in saying anything. "Yes boss." Atsushi said. "Great! Well you all may leave now." The boss said, grasping his hands together. Atsushi got up, bowed and quickly left the room after the others.

As Atsushi walked away, Akutagawa gave Atsushi a weird look. "He's been acting strange lately..." Akutagawa uttered.

"I'm back!" Atsushi shouted, kicking off his shoes. Over the past month Atsushi couldn't deny you two had begun close. Since you couldn't leave the house a lot, Atsushi had begun running errands for you. You couldn't deny the fact that Atsushi had grown close, I mean it would be very normal that you two would go close over the time of your stay.

"Welcome back!" You shouted from the kitchen, turning the water tap off. You walked into the living room to be greeted by Atsushi laying on the couch tired. "How was your meeting today?" You asked, biting your lip, hoping nothing bad had happened. "Just a meeting about you and how Dazai, Chuuya, And Akutagawa are joining in." Atsushi stretched. You nodded, you were a bit concerned that they would find you out. Though Atsushi told you not to worry because no one had thought that you were staying here.

"Quit overthinking." Atsushi interrupted your thoughts, as if he knew exactly what you were thinking. "I'm not.." You scoffed, rolling your eyes. Atsushi looked at his watch, "I'm heading to bed." He said standing up. You raised an eyebrow, "You're not gonna eat?" You asked, "I'm not hungry." Atsushi said. You nodded, "Night." Atsushi hummed, heading into his room. That was your sign to head to bed yourself, you headed towards your room and tucked yourself into bed. Slowly falling asleep,

"Don't touch me!" You shouted, slapping the older male's hands away. "Oh (Y/N) You'd really think you could run from me?" He laughed. His laugh sends chills down your spine. "How pathetic.." He said, grabbing you by your chin to face him. You struggled to let go of his grip, "Why the hell are you being so difficult!!" He said slapping you and then throwing you on the ground. You wanted to fight back but you couldn't, for some reason all the strength in your body had been drained. Tears began forming in your eyes, "Aw don't cry love, I'm just gonna have some fun with you." He whispered in your ear, taking off his gloves. You shook your head violently, "NO! NO! GET OFF OF ME!!" You shouted, tears streaming from your eyes. He grabbed you by your hair, kissing your neck. You tried to kick him off but he was way too strong for you.

"Don't worry sweetheart it won't take long," He laughed, licking his lips.

"NO!" You screamed.

"No..no..no" Your murmured twisted in your sleep. You sat up quickly, you looked around the room. A nightmare it was just a nightmare. You sighed, running your hands through your hair. You stood up, "There's no way I'm going back to sleep.." You uttered in fear of having another nightmare. You exited your room, and walked towards the kitchen. You sat down on the dining table, tears formed in your eyes. The nightmare playing into your head over and over again. What if Atsushi turns you in? Can you really trust him? Why did you have to fall in love-

You cut your thoughts off. You shook your head wiping your tears. You weren't in love with Atsushi nope!! You laughed nervously to yourself. Who am I kidding..you grumbled. Over the past month you had fallen in love with Atsushi, you don't know why or how. You just did. You had been fond of Atsushi ever since you'd joined the Mafia.

Then a door opened, "(Y/N)?" Atsushi croaked, running his hands through his hair. "Great.." you mumbled. "Why are you up?" He asked, walking into the kitchen, crossing his arms as he leaned on the door frame. "Why are you up this late?" He asked tiredly.

"I-"

He stepped closer to you, "Are you crying?" He asked. You shook your head looking away, "No.." You mumbled. "Hey, look at me." He said. You turned to him, "Why are you crying?" He said softly, you turned red. His soft gaze on you made you want to just let all your emotions out and cry more.

Luckily you didn't.

"Hey. I know it's awkward because we barely know one other. But it's not good to bottle up your emotions" Atsushi reassured. You sniffled, "I'm fine." Atsushi scoffed, "Clearly not."

When you didn't respond, Atsushi huffed and pulled you into a hug, you sat there shocked. "I-" All those emotions you tried to keep inside, the emotions you cursed to not come out. But it did, and you began sobbing. "S-shit." You cursed under your breath. Atsushi paused, and blushed. Why the hell am I doing..?? He thought but brushed it off. "Do..do you want to tell me what happened?" Atsushi asked.

You tried to speak through the sobs, "I-..I had a nightmare." You said. Atsushi nodded, giving you a sign to continue. "And...I was c-caught..and." you sobbed, "and he touched me, and..." The nightmare began to replay once again, never finishing your sentence. Atsushi sighed, he felt a feeling as his heart sank seeing you like this. "Look I promise I won't let him get you." He said pulling away from the hug and cupping your face. "P-please...please don't make promises you probably c-can't keep." You sniffled. Atsushi shook his head, "I know, I won't let him get you." Atsushi said sternly.

Atsushi for some reason over the past month, had felt this feeling everytime he was around you. It was like butterflies every time you made something for him to eat after work, and he hated seeing you overthink everything. And from this right here, he now realized the feeling for you that he had been feeling for a while.

Atsushi rubbed your back, "Calm down." He said softly. You tried, but you couldn't, the thought of seeing that man again scared you. "(Y/N) Your hyperventilating, calm down please." He said. Not knowing what to do, Atsushi did the one thing that came to his mind.

He kissed you.

Your eyes widen at the sudden touch of your lips, you can't deny that it didn't snap you back into reality. Atsushi broke this kiss, "Did that help?" He asked. You sat there shocked, "I..mean..yeah..but you kissed me." You sniffled. Atsushi nodded, "Yeah." He blushed. "Why...?" You asked.

"I love you." He said plainly, "I mean why else?"

You blinked.

Turning red, and just by that reaction Atsushi could tell that you felt the same. "It's late, let's head to bed." Atsushi said, grabbing your hand. You raise a confused eyebrow as he dragged you into his room.

"I- I have a room for a reason." You said wiping your eyes, Atsushi didn't respond. He laid down, and motioned you to do the same. "Atsu-" He wrapped his arms around you, "Goodnight." He said. You turned red, but you smiled a bit, nuzzling into Atsushi's chest a bit. "Goodnight Atsushi." You mumbled, the sleep taking over you.

3 MONTHS LATER..

Atsushi eyes widen as he looked at the note that was left on his door,

You thought you could hide her from me? really,

If you want her back meet me at ***** st i'll be waiting. Don't take long, and if you do you might not find her alive.

Atsushi breathing grew heavy, he sprinted out of his apartment. Shit! He thought. Out of nowhere the boss had sent him out on a 2 day mission, telling him that he had given up on looking for you. Assuming you'd left yokohama, but of course the boss was smarter than that. He must have known ever since you'd move in with Atsushi that you were there, Atsushi cursed to himself. How could he'd been so dumb to let this happen.

Atsushi's body felt sore, there was air escaping his lungs but it fought to return back. He felt like he couldn't breathe the image of you dead in his mind replaying. He tried to stay calm but he couldn't. He had never run this fast in his life for a person, never. He had never grown attached to anyone in fear of losing them, so he tried not to grow attached.

But then you came along and changed everything.

His thoughts were interrupted as he reached the location on the note. An abandoned house? He questions. But knew there was no time for questions and ran inside. As he entered he was met with you tied up in fear on the ground. His boss sitting next to her in a chair gun pointed to your head. "(Y/N)" He shouted about to rush over when the boss stopped him. "Come close and she's dead." He said sternly. Atsushi stopped in his tracks, "Such an obedient tiger." He laughed.

"What do you want!" Atsushi shouted.

"What do I want??" The boss asked, placing his hand on his chin. "I don't know.." He murmured. While he was thinking Atsushi looked over at you, you seemed to be tired and out of it. You looked up at him and smiled. You gave him a look saying, It's not worth it, you're not worth fighting for. Tears streamed down your face.

Atsushi frowned, what the hell had he done to you.

"I'll give you an option." He said. Atsushi was all ears, "You or her." He grinned. Atsushi raised an eyebrow. "It's either you live, or she lives?" He began, "Don't worry, if you die I swear I'll never touch her again." Atsushi froze, You knew what he was gonna pick, "Atsushi no!" You shouted.

"Shut up!" The boss shouted. You quieted down.

"Kill me." Atsushi said. It was no surprise he chose himself, once you heard the question you knew his choice. The boss nodded, "Wow killing yourself for her?" He laughed. Again that same laugh sending chills down your spine.

You closed your eyes.

BANG

You didn't open your eyes, you couldn't bear to see Atsushi's dead body on the ground. There was a thud, and as you opened your eyes to your horror, there Atsushi was on the ground. The boss laughed, "How do you feel sweetheart?!" He approached you, you tried backing away but there was no use. "He's dead, there's no one to protect you know." He laughed. As he was about to put his hands on you a gunshot went off. You watched as (B/N) fell to the ground. You looked over to see Atsushi clutching his side, "Idiot, he only shot me in my side." Atsushi huffed. "A-Atsushi." You cried. He ran to untie you, and then pulled you into a tight hug. "Atsushi you're bleeding!" You shouted. "I know! I know!" He said. He took off his hoodie and tied it over his gunshot wound hoping it would stop the blood.

He took out his phone,

"Ryunosuke." He flinched. "The hell is up with you?!" He shouted. "I got shot I need.." Atsushi began.

You were too panicked to remember the rest. The minute Atsushi dialed Akutagawa you blacked out.

Your eyes fluttered open, you sat up. You looked around, "A hospital.." You uttered. "Ah! Atsushi!" You shouted. Was he ok! Did Akutagawa come in time? Your mind raced, then someone opened the door. A brown hair male walked in, you recognized him. Dazai
