Yosano raised an eyebrow, "Atsushi, do you know where (Y/N) is?" Atsushi nodded, "She said she wasn't feeling well today." Atsushi explained. Yosano hummed, as she went back to her desk. "This is the first time (Y/N) ever has missed a day of work." Kenji mentioned. Atsushi turned to Ranpo and he looked a little concerned. "Hey Atsushi mind checking up on (Y/N) for me?" Ranpo asked. Atsushi raised an eyebrow, "I was just at her apartment 10 minutes ago. She seemed ok, but a little ill." he explained. Ranpo tensed, "Just do me a favor, if she gets mad just say I sent you."

Atsushi nodded, sitting up from his desk. "And if you see Dazai on your way there, tell him Kunikida said for him to hurry his ass over here!" Kunikida angrily shouted. Atsushi laughed as he shut the front door to the office.

Atsushi arrived at your apartment, he pulled out a copy of the keys you gave him. He unlocked the door. "(Y/N)?! I just came over to check on you." Atsushi shouted. No response, Atsushi assumed that you were asleep so he decided to head to your bedroom. He knocked on the door, "(Y/N) I'm coming in." Again no response. Atsushi opened the door, his eyes widened at the sight he saw. He stood there, his body frozen, he felt like he couldn't move. "...(Y/N)..?" Atsushi muttered.

There you were, pill bottle in your hand, pills scattered on the bed next to you. Atsushi rushed towards you, and he quickly checked your pulse. "Please..Please..Please.." He mumbled. Tears started to fill his eyes, his heart dropped. Nothing. There was no pulse, "No..no no no no no." Atsushi repeated. Tears began flowing down Atsushi's eyes, he pulled you into his arms. He pulled out his phone and panicked, so the first person he called was Kunikida.

"Hello-?"

"K-Kunikida-san! (Y/N) overdosed...and...she's s-shes not breathing." Atsushi panicked, and Atsushi heard Kunikida quickly stand up. He called someone over before running out of the door. "Atsushi. Stay where you are, check her pulse again to make sure she actually hasn't...passed." Kunikida said his breath was a bit shaky. Atsushi hummed trying hard to stay calm, he layed you backed down a felt over your nose. vNothing, as many times as he checked nothing. You were gone and there was nothing you could do about it. "Atsushi?" Kunikida asked, "She's gone.." Atsushi mumbled. "Stay calm please, I'm almost there."

Atsushi's head began to spin. His lover was gone, he couldn't believe he hadn't noticed you've been feeling like this. Maybe if he talked to you more, maybe if he wasn't so focused on his reports and focused on you more. He felt guilty he should have been there for you. Atsushi's head turned to hear a door open, "Atsushi?!" Kunikida shouted. "In here!!" Atsushi shouted, Kunikida ran into the room. 

Atsushi noticed Yosano and Ranpo right behind him. Atsushi felt hands rubbing his back, "If I had come to check on her sooner..maybe? Maybe she would still be here, right?" Atsushi said, his voice slowly breaking. Kunikida sighed as he bent down. "Atsushi, look at me." He said, pulling Atsushi to face him. "None of this is your fault. None of it, don't feel guilty. (Y/N) wouldn't want you blaming yourself like this." Kunikida reassured. Atsushi nodded, "I know I just..." he looked at you. Nothing else came out, Atsushi didn't say anything else.

"We'll wait in the other room to come out when you're done." Yosano said softly. Atsushi hummed. As the three left he turned to you, he placed his head on your chest. "I love you." he whispered. "All the time we spent together I promise I won't forget...and I'll never ever! Forget you." He weakly smiled. 

He sat up and placed a kiss on your lips, your body was cold. Atsushi stood up, he looked at you one last time before exiting the room.
