Lola  got dressed in a simple purple flared gown,she looked at herself in the mirror and was satisfied with the way she looked. Sarah entered her room giving her the thump up

"You look breathtaking"Sarah said and Lola sighed

"Are you sure? I feel very anxious and nervous"Lola said and Sarah smiled

"It's always like that when you're meeting your soon to be in laws for the first time"Sarah said and Lola sighed again

"Do you think they're going to love me?"Lola asked and Sarah chuckled

"You're very lovely"Sarah replied and they suddenly heard a knock on the door. Sarah went over to open the door and saw Monica standing,Monica entered the house after exchanging greetings with Sarah heading straight to Lola's room

"I'm sorry I'm late. I was having a class"Monica said and Lola waved it off

"How do you see the dress?"Lola asked

"You look very beautiful my dear"Monica said smiling

"I already told her she looks perfect,she just don't believe me"Sarah said rolling her eyes

"I believe you but I'm scared"Lola said and Monica went over to hug her

"Don't be scared my dear. They will love you"Monica said and Lola nodded. Lola's mind wandered back to the first time she saw Fred's parents. How scared she was and she later found out they're very lovable, thinking about this alone calmed her nerves a little

They suddenly heard a knock on the door and they all went to the sitting room,Sarah went to get the door. She opened it to reveal Joel clad on a casual wear. He went over immediately to kiss Lola,Lola found herself relaxing

"Ewwww! Too much PDA"Sarah said making a disgusting face. Everyone bursted into laughter

"Please treat her well and stay by her side, she's a little nervous"Monica said and Joel nodded

"Don't worry babe, my parents are amazing"Joel said and Lola nodded

"Okay... We will get going"Lola said and Monica nodded hugging her before Joel took her out of the house. Her phone started ringing immediately

"Hey! What's up Israel?"Monica said as soon as she picked the call

"I'm fine. Can you clear your schedules for tonight?"Israel asked and Monica got confused before remembering she has a suppose date with Israel

"Yeah.... Yeah.. yeah sure!"she replied

"Okay, see you tonight"Israel said ending the call

"The new guy?"Sarah asked and Monica nodded "you're so lucky he's taking you out on a date"

"What's there to feel lucky about?"Monica asked shrugging

"The guy I told you about rejected me blatantly. No man ever did that,he bruise my ego"Sarah said

"I'm so sorry sister. Please just let it go"Monica said and Sarah nodded smirking

"I will try"she replied. She decided to pay Daniel back what he did to her, no man had ever rejected her the way Daniel did,she planned on making him fall in love with her and break his heart so that he can feel what she felt

Monica spent a little time with her before she decided to call it a day

A black gate came into view and Joel's car started slowing down, Lola's heart accelerated. Her anxiousness and nervousness shining at it peak, she only wishes Joel's parents will like her as their own

"Hey babe!"Joel called and Lola look at him. Joel already drove the car inside the compound after honking for the gateman to open the gate for him

"Yes"Lola replied

"Calm down. They're just human and they don't bite"Joel said smiling and Lola nodded smiling too. They came down from the car Joel holding Lola's hand as they walk inside the house

Lola's gaze fell on the house. It's a beautiful mansion. Lola felt her confidence slipping away immediately

"Don't tell me you have a millionaire parents?"Lola asked and Joel chuckled

"Billionaire actually"Joel replied and Lola got shocked. Joel doesn't look like someone that comes from such family

"You don't look like a billionaire"Lola said shaking her head in disagreement

"Cause I'm not one. I do my things myself babe,I don't depend on my parents"Joel said and Lola nodded.

Sensing someone getting closer to the door,the door opened revealing a maid dressed up in a light blue uniform

"Welcome sir and ma"the maid said bowing,Joel waved it off.

Lola's eyes landed on sitting room and her breathe cut short immediately,the sitting room alone is her whole apartment. The sitting room's design and cushion screams beauty and wealth

"Sit here"Joel said and Lola nodded. Joel left her going further into the house. Few minutes later Lola heard some noises followed with laughter. She saw Joel came back with two older people. Joel father is old with grey hairs very visible,he is tall like his son but slightly bent due to old age. Joel's mom isn't what Lola expected,the woman look too young to have birthed Joel. Lola thought maybe she's his step mom. She stood up immediately her eyes set on them

"Okay mom and dad. This is Lola my fiancé"Joel introduced the two party going closer to Lola to hold her hand

"Such a beaut. How are you?"Joel's father asked

"I'm fine sir"Lola replied nervously. The older man signal them to sit down and they all did

"Where did you meet my son?"Joel's mom asked with a strict voice. Lola gave her an once over and her breathe stuck on her throat, the woman look sophisticated and intimidating,Lola crack her throat gently

"In a club"she replied wincing a little. Joel's mom gave her son a disapproving look

"What do you do for a living?"Joel's dad asked and Lola cracked her throat again,her hands shaking. Joel's grabbed her hands and she gave him a thankful smile

"I'm a lawyer"Lola replied and Joel's mom got confused

"I thought you said you met him in a club?"Joel's mom asked

"Oh mom! Just because we met at a club doesn't mean she do some illegal work"Joel said and his dad chuckled

"You have a great profession there"Joel's dad said approvingly and for the first time Lola smiled genuinely

"I always wished to have a lawyer in my family"Joel's mom said and Lola got shocked. The woman's voice change from intimidating to something soft "welcome to the family,Joel told us a lot about you"She added spreading her arms. Lola went over to hug her and everyone bursted into laughter. She heaved for the first time feeling comfortable

"The food is ready sir"one of the maid said and they nodded dismissing her

"I think we should talk more while getting our stomach filled"Joel's dad said and they all chuckled. He stood up and his wife followed him immediately

"Is that really your mom?"Lola whispered and Joel chuckled nodding yes "she look too young to have gave birth to you"

"I heard that a lot of times. Mom was fifteen when she had me, mom is just forty five"Joel said

"Wow! Your dad look quite old"Lola says

"He's sixty eight"Joel said and Lola's eyes went wide "some people usually call my mom a gold digger for marrying my dad"

"How do you feel about that?"Lola asked and Joel chuckled

"I think she made the right decision marrying him, the old man loves her a lot and gave her comfort. She deserves it. I don't care about whatever everyone says though no one can tell my mom that face to face"Joel says shrugging

"Ah hah!"Lola replied nodding her head. She loves the way Joel respected his mom's decision "she seems strict though"she whispered

"She's just acting"Joel said and they both chuckled

"Young fellas! You kept the old waiting!"they heard Joel's dad voice and giggled before joining them in the sitting room

Monica went back to her apartment feeling confused,she doesn't know what to do about Israel and she can't turn him down blatantly after everything he had done for her, she chew her finger nervously and decided to call Daniel

"Hello"she says as soon as he picks the call up

"Babe"Daniel says and Monica rolled her eyes

"Can you come over like right now?"Monica asked feeling anxious

"Yeah yeah"Daniel replied ending the call.

Monica was busy pacing up and down when she heard a knock on her door,she quickly went over to open the door and Daniel engulfed her in a hug,she sighed relaxing on him

"What's wrong?"Daniel asked sounding worried

"You know I told you I have a date"Monica said and Daniel nodded "the date is today"Monica added closing her eyes. She felt Daniel kissing her both closed eyes,she opened then slowly "I don't know what to do!"she whined

"It's simple don't stress over it. You just go on this date to respect whatever you already had with him and tell him it can't work, simple"Daniel said and Monica groan tapping her forehead gently

"What if he sweeps me off my feet? That's the goal of the date"Monica said and Daniel gave her the stink eye

"Try it and you know what I'm made of"Daniel said and Monica bursted into laughter

"See this pikin!"Monica said and Daniel picked her up,she let out a yelp and he rolled her around

"Who did you call pikin?"Daniel asked tingling her,she bursted into laughter.

"Please stop it please please!"she plead and Daniel stopped tingling her

"Yeah! You have a date to prepare for"Daniel said and Monica nodded heading to her room,Daniel followed. She entered her bathroom while Daniel helped her search for a nice dress

Monica came out of the bathroom wrapped on a towel,she saw the dress Daniel kept down for her

"Wow! This is beautiful"Monica said chuckling,she look at the maroon dress Daniel pull out of her wardrobe. She recently bought it and never had a special occasion to wear it to

"I'm a fashionista!"Daniel said giving himself a thump up,Monica laughed shaking her head before changing into the dress. She applied a minimal make up and Daniel helped her combed her hair,she put it into a bun. Feeling contented with the way she's dressed,she heard a knock on the door and went over to open it

"Hello"she said smiling at Israel who was busy giving her a once over,he has to admit she look breathtaking

"Wow! You look beautiful"Israel said and Monica smiled

"We should get going"Monica said and Israel nodded "I will be right back"she said and entered her room to meet Daniel

"I will be back"Monica said and Daniel nodded standing up to give her a kiss "wait for me,will ya?"

"Yes"Daniel replied nodding. She left the house joining Israel in the car,Israel took her to a very beautiful and elegant diner. They sat down and ordered for their food

"This place is beautiful"Monica said looking around

"Just wait and see what I got under my sleeve for the night. This is just the beginning"Israel said and Monica felt uneasy. She thought it's better to let Israel know right now than wasting his time

"I don't think we have to do all that"Monica said shrugging, she's feeling very nervous

"Why? We are just getting started"Israel said relaxing on the seat he is sitting on

"I.... Uhmm... I... I don't want.... Yeah.... I don't think this is right"Monica said feeling awkward

"I don't understand"Israel said looking confused

"I think we should remain friends"Monica rushed out

"Few days ago you don't seem we should remain friends"Israel said and Monica sighed

"I'm sorry"she said and Israel nodded feeling down for being rejected without even trying

"We shouldn't ruin the night. I already got out of my ways to make this day for you so that's what I'm going to do"Israel said and Monica felt bad for rejecting him without allowing him to try

"Yeah we shouldn't"
