"hello"Daniel voice sound raw in the phone

"What's wrong with you?"Jake asked as soon as he heard Daniel's voice.

"Can you come over?"Daniel asked

"Sure"Jake replied ending the call. Daniel forced himself to stand up,he lazily sat on the sofa switching the television while hugging one of the sofa pillows like his life depends on it. Few minutes later he heard his door open and he knew it was Jake

"What's wrong with you?"Jake asked as soon as he set his eyes on Daniel. Daniel sat up immediately

"It happened"Daniel said

"What happened?"Jake asked looking confused

"We finally did it. Monica and I"Daniel said his eyes on the television though he isn't really watching it

"So the conquest is over. What's up with you being moody?"Jake asked

"We had a fight"Daniel said swallowing

"It's expected"Jake replied nonchalantly and Daniel groan. Jake was expecting a reply or a laughter or a gist about how it got down but Daniel was quiet looking moody

"What's wrong with you?"Jake asked

"She left"Daniel said swallowing a tear escaping his eyes "you know how you use to explain to me how you feel whenever Rita cheat on you?"Daniel asked

"Yes"Jake replied

"I feel ten times worst Jake. I don't know but it seems I like her"Daniel replied squeezing his eyes close

"I always you knew you have feelings for her"Jake replied shaking his head "you're in love with her dude"

"I'm not in love with her please. I just like her maybe a little too much"Daniel said and Jake chuckled

"You don't act like this if you only like someone Daniel. You're slowly killing yourself,look at you. You don't look good at all"Jake said

"I don't want to get messed up with her, we are still trying to resolve Bianca's issue, you know the type of family I have and adding Monica to it will only worsen my state"Daniel said and Jake sighed

"You should have thought about all this before getting involved with her"

"It's not really my fault Jake. Whenever I see her it feels I'm not in control of my body anymore,they act on their own. I will get over it,soon"Daniel replied and Jake chuckled

"I won't deceive you mate. You can't get over it soon,you like her Daniel"

"What should I do? I feel like I'm dying. This is all new to me"Daniel said and his friend expression changed into the one of pity

He had been in this state for more than once,he knew how it felt and the pain that comes with heartbreak. He knew his friend had falling in love but he won't acknowledge it,he have to leave him to realise it himself. He decided to help him,he is proud of him,at least he got to do something without his parents permission which is falling in love

"Stop looking like someone that just lost their parents,sulk it up and text her"Jake said

"I can't text her"

"Then visit her,tell her you're sorry and settle everything"

"Are you sure?"

"Hundred percent. Go and freshen up, I will drive you over to her place"Jake said and Daniel smiled

He stood up rushing to his bathroom,he had a cool shower and left the house with Jake. He was clad on a black ripped jeans and yellow top. Jake ride the car to Monica's apartment. They knocked on the door and realised she's not around

"Where could she be?"Daniel asked a rhetorical question. Jake shrugged

"She might be around the school"Jake said and Daniel nodded. They went to Monica's office and she wasn't there. They checked all the class they knew she's taking and she couldn't be found

"I don't think she's in the school"Daniel says

"Anyone you could call to ask about her whereabout?"Jake asked. Daniel thought about Lola and kicked against it,Lola is a smart woman and she might get something is wrong

"Let's go back to my apartment"Daniel said and Jake nodded riding them back to the apartment.  They lay on Daniel's bed,Daniel was going through his phone when he remembers Sarah.

"Yes!"He said suddenly and Jake quirk his brows.

"What's up?"he asked

"Her younger sister, I just remembered. We talk"

What's up Sarah? Please do you know where your sister is. I have an assignment to submit and I have to do it now,today is the deadline

Daniel sent to Sarah, he hoped she didn't get anything wrong

"I just sent her a message"Daniel said and Jake collected his phone from him going through the message. Suddenly a message popped on the screen

On her way to lagos. what's up with you?,you didn't reply my WhatsApp message yesterday 😢

They received Sarah's message

"She said she went to Lagos. The babe is asking why didn't you reply her WhatsApp messenge yesterday"Jake said and Daniel hissed

"I wasn't even in a good mood to chat with anyone yesterday"

"What should I tell her?"Jake asked

"Anything"Daniel replied nonchalantly laying back down

I'm sorry Sarah. I was so occupied,I will make it up to you

Jake send smiling. He showed the phone to Daniel

"Make what up? Don't implicate me please"Daniel said and Jake bursted into laughter

"Are you scared?"he asked

"Scared of who?"Daniel scoffed

Okay then. I'm on my way to lagos with my sister,you will fulfill your promise when I come back😉

"The girl have replied o. She's said she's on her way to Lagos with her sister,do you know why they might be going to Lagos?"Jake asked

"I don't know. Sarah once told me when we were chatting that her elder brother is getting married soon"Daniel replied

"Maybe that's why they're going to Lagos"Jake said and Daniel shrugged

"Let me see the message she sent?"Daniel asked and Jake handed his phone over to him

"See what you have caused? Now she's asking me to promise to fulfill my promise when she comes back"Daniel said after reading Sarah's reply. Jake bursted into laughter

"Lemme see her picture"Jake asked

"Enter my WhatsApp. I save her number with Sarah, her picture is there on her profile"Daniel said and Jake did as he was told.

"Is this not Lecturer Monica on the profile?"Jake asked and Daniel chuckled

"That's Sarah. They look alike a lot. Look at the picture well you will see that Monica have body than her"Daniel said and Jake nodded after realising what Daniel said

"She's beautiful"Jake said and Daniel rolled his eyes

Monica is much more beautiful

He thought

Sure beautiful 😉

Jake went back to their chat and reply her last message. Daniel took the phone from him and saw what he had done. He opened his mouth wide apart

"You just flirt with her?!"Daniel asked still not believing what Jake just did

"No I didn't"Jake replied and Daniel felt like punching him. He groan

"I'm trying to clear another one and you're bringing another one"Daniel said and Jake sighed

"Maybe she don't even see it as that. Let it go,she can't force you to do anything"Jake said and Daniel sighed

"I have to wait till Monica is back"he said absentmindedly

"Of course you have to. Start preparing your apology speech now"

Lola coming back home from the court. It was a tiring day for her,her opponent was just too good at what he does and she had learn few things from him. She had never met someone that makes her feel inferior like the way Lawyer Haleem made her feel. It's no joke the Hausa man knows what he does and his accent was so beautiful, you could hardly tell he is an Hausa man. The case had been adjourned and now she has to go and prepare, look for more concrete points if she wants to win the genius lawyer.

She sluggishly entered her apartment suddenly missing Sarah, at least when Sarah is around there's always food she comes back home to, she's so use to her that now her apartment felt empty

She went inside her room taking her bath,she wore a night gown and went to her kitchen to prepare noodles for herself. She doesn't have the power to cook better meal,she went back to her room eating and making research on lawyer Haleem. She wanted to know about the case he had solved before and the way he laid his point,she wanted to learn what she can use to conquer him later.

Her phone started ringing and the caller's ID indicate Joel😩❤️

"Hello babe"she said after taking the call smiling. She's happy she decided to date Joel. Joel have been nothing but the perfect boyfriend

"Katerina! How's today's case?"Joel asked and Lola sighed

"I'm tired"

"Should I come over to massage your body for you?"Joel asked and Lola chuckled

"Aint you in the hospital?"Lola asked

"I'm leaving the hospital now"Joel said

"Okay. I should prepare something down for you,what do you wanna eat?"Lola asked

"I'm craving for swallow"Joel replied

"On it"Lola said

"I love you"Joel said

"I love you"Lola replied ending the call. It felt like calling Joel energised her,she stood up immediately going to the kitchen to prepare melon soup with semolina. She hoped Joel likes it.

An hour later,she heard a knock on the door. She dropped what she was doing and went for the door. She opened the door to see Joel standing. Joel carried her rolling her around, she squealed bursting into laughter. She lean down kissing Joel who kissed her back immediately

"Babe! That was hilarious"Lola said giggling. Joel kissed her cheek after seeing how cute she looks when giggling

"I miss my baby"Joel said and Lola rolled her eyes

"We saw eachother this past weekend"Lola said and Joel gave her the 'really look' Lola bursted into laughter

"I can smell the aroma of the food"Joel said. Lola chuckled shaking her head as she went to the kitchen. Joel followed her

"Lemme serve you"Lola said and served Joel. They sat on the kitchen eating. Lola didn't eat much because she already took noodles,Joel was eating like a starved man. It obvious the hospital is taking a lot of his time and he rarely have time for himself to eat

"I forgot to tell you when we met last time. Fred came to my office"Lola said and Joel stopped eating

"To do what?"Joel asked with an uninterested voice. Lola could feel it but she continued nevertheless

"He said he went down to Lagos to check on my mom and he ask my mom to beg on his behalf so that I can't forget whatever happened and come back to him"Lola said and it feels like Joel lost his appetite

"What did you say?"Joel asked while washing his hand

"Of course I said no, my mom thought I should get back together with him,so I tell her I'm already in another relationship"Lola said and Joel sighed

"Okay"

"Okay? Why are you always like this whenever I talk about Fred, do you want me to go back to him?"Lola asked slightly angry

"Go back to him?"Joel asked frowning "of course not! I love you a lot Lola and I want to make you my wife, I don't like the fact Fred keeps begging you to forgive him"

"You want to make me your wife?"Lola asked looking shocked,Joel rolled his eyes

"I'm not a kid anymore Katerina. Do you think what we are doing is a joke?"Joel asked and Lola chuckled

"You should do the needful before Fred sweep me off my feet"Lola said and Joel scowl at her making her to blown into a full laughter

"I don't have a ring here with me and I wasn't planning on doing this when I came but I have to before another man takes my lady"Joel said and Lola giggles,Joel went on one knee,Lola covered her mouth with her hand "will you make me the happiest man on earth and be wife Taiwo Katerina OmoLola"Joel put his hand on his jeans pocket and pull out a rubber ring,Lola bursted into laughter "this substitution will do"Joel said shining his teeth. He held the rubber out for Lola

"You're lucky I love you, I would have slapped you for proposing with a rubber ring"Lola said and Joel chuckled "yes I will make you the happiest man on earth by marrying you Ignatius Joel"Lola said and Joel wrapped the rubber ring on her finger before standing up and giving her a kiss of a life time

"I will buy you a diamond ring"
