She was still looking at the picture when, unknowingly, a smile crept onto her face. Her hands traced the two children, smiling.

"Have something to eat," her mother said as she arrived with some desserts. Jina pointed at the picture and looked up at her mother.

"Who is he? Is he someone I know?"

Her mother looked at the picture and then back at her. "I would, of course, not expect you to know who that is. You were young."

She paused for a moment and placed the dessert nearby on the table. "Let's just say he was your friend."

Jina didn't look too convinced by her mother's reply. She continued staring at it. "He looks cute," she whispered. "Can I have this for now?" she asked, her eyes still glued to the picture.

Her mother looked at her for a moment. "Sure, you're curious, aren't you?"

Jina tucked the picture in her bag as she looked at her mother. "I heard business is going well, Mother," she said.

"It is, but I miss spending time with you. My only child, I know we can't go back in time, but I want you to know I'm always here for you."

Jina's mother looked at her with a smile. She had never realized how beautiful her mother was until then.

Jina nodded as she picked up the dessert. She knew she didn't have anything to offer her mother and that they didn't have anything in common.

She is, after all, her mother. She is happy to see her mother willing to spend some time with her now.

"I hope you find your special one," she chuckled gently as she continued staring at her daughter with fond eyes.

Jina's eyes widened. "I didn't know you still believed in soulmates."

Her mother chuckled at her question.

"You shouldn't be too sure, my dear."

"Really?" Jina questioned herself while looking at her mother curiously. She doesn't get why her mother always believed in soulmates. Power between soulmates? That sounded unrealistic.

"I would like to tell you why I do, since I grew up not believing in soulmates, just like you. I don't think this is the perfect time for it."

Jina continued staring at her mother, waiting for her to say more.

"Everything will be more memorable this way," her mother breathed.

When Jina reached home after meeting her mother, she was exhausted. She was still thinking about her new neighbor. The last one was rather memorable. They were only there for a short amount of time, as she was new there as well.

Now that she's back here in her hometown, she wants to visit a lot of her favorite places. She came here once, three years ago, to meet her mother and explore the place to her satisfaction.

One of the places stood out to her the most. It was a lake in between small mountains in the countryside. It's just nature and her, just like she always wanted it to be.

It was around 6 p.m. when she reached home. Just as she was about to go in, she heard a bike nearby. It was him, her neighbor Jungkook.

Just as he got down, he looked at her house, and his eyes slowly fell on her. A smile crept on his face as he came towards her with his helmet still tucked in his hands.

"I didn't expect to see you here," she said, slipping out without thinking twice.

"You should now; I live right next to you."

Jina chuckled awkwardly, "I was zoning out. I'm sorry."

"I couldn't sleep well yesterday, so I just took off looking around," he said while brushing his messy hair.

Jina stared at him.

"Since you just moved in, will it be okay if I invite you to my house for some snacks?" She asked, remembering how her mother used to do that.

Jungkook nodded his head and said, "That's the best thing to happen so far after I moved in here. Not only do I have a beautiful house now, but I have a beautiful neighbor too."

Jina opened her mouth to say something, but she was speechless. She slightly blushed upon hearing the compliment.

"Do come by today; I'll be waiting," she said while bidding goodbye.

"He knows what he is doing," she whispered, still taken aback by the compliment.
