Aiden's POV

I woke up and found myself in my bedroom. Strange. I had no memories of what had happened. I looked out the window, by my bed, and saw the sunset. I scratched my head and drank some water. Then, the thought of my soulmate made me jump out of bed. I rushed to the library and continued on the search.

I had a few cups of coffee and few cans of energy drinks to keep myself awake. I had my reading glasses on, my laptop in front of me with another huge stack of books. Luckily for me, this is the last stack.

Is it such a rare thing that no one bother to mention about it, or is it because no one really knows for sure how it works? I even tried to search in the Lycan web, but it stated nothing more than what I had already found from the books that I looked through earlier.

Hours and hours passed and I found out that it's 9am and I hadn't had any sleep, again. I stretched myself to loosen up my tensed body.  My mind drifted to her and wondered what she's doing. I took out my phone and looked through the images to help me to feel a little better. I adore her adorable personality.

I'm tired as fuck. It has been 12 hours since my search but I'm not going to stop. I have a strong feeling that it's due to this gift that blocked our communication and I really need to know more information about it besides the obvious.

'For the chosen ones'

Come on. I'm getting tired of reading that phrase. This is so annoying. Really annoying. I gulped more of the energy drink and continued my search. Finally, I'm at my last book but only to realize that it was just a non-fiction romantic novel.

AGH!

I threw that book against the book shelf and kick the whole pile of books which were on the ground. Fucking pathetic. I have got a whole library but none of the books explained about it. I stomped my way to the dojo room where I could vent my anger on a punching bag. I have been

there for about few hours until my friends mind linked with me.

"Hey dude, where are you?" asked Jackson.

"Yeah, Aiden. Are you ok?" Asked Vanessa.

Asking me the obvious. Of course, I'm not. I hesitated in my response as I wasn't in a good mood.

 "Dojo"

Soon, I could see them flooding in.

"Hey man. Are you doing ok?" Asked Ethan.

I didn't respond. Seriously, do I look ok?

"Did you know that you went crazy yesterday afternoon?" Jackson asked. I stopped and looked

at him.

"You started destroying and taking down the trees in the forest" Dylan added.

"Not to forget, you punched Jackson and me in the face" Ethan retorted.

Destroying the woodlands? I am not surprised. Though I had no memories of that nor punching anyone in the face. That usually happens when my Lycan takes over.

"Look, Aiden. We could see that this has taken a toll on you and you seemed very affected. All of us are very worried about you. Yes, it is understandable. I would be very affected as well if I were in your place. Tell us, what can we do to help you?" Ethan asked, empathetically.

I sigh heavily and got deep in my thoughts.

Oh, my dear love. Look how crazy you had driven me.

Aiden's POV

21 years old

Three years have passed. Still, no response. I have ordered some men to search for a girl named Shana in all McDonald's worldwide for the last two-and-a-half years. They have covered 80% of the countries and so far, 3 named Shana but they're not the age I expected them to be and none of them were Lycans. The progress is painfully slow but they are a lot of McDonald's outlets in the world.

I am assisting my dad with his paperwork and he's teaching me on how to handle some matters as a king. There were lots to learn. I told my dad I would postpone the 2 years break until I meet my mate. Until then, I will work on myself so that I will not waste any time.

I have learnt a lot since then and many are, also, on the foundation I had learnt back in school. It's a good thing I have a good memory. It's fast paced and if you're not a quick-thinker, it would be impossible to catch on what my dad is talking about. I shadowed my dad roughly about 8 hours a day.

Every day, my men will do a daily report on their search. It's the usual negative. The answer that I had come to expect. I try not to be pessimistic but it's difficult when you receive negative results for two and a half years. I looked at the sky from my house balcony. I sighed looking at the full moon.

It was during the full moon when she first communicated with me. I found out nothing about this phenomenon I have stopped talking about my mate with my friends and they have also stopped asking about it as they know how it would spoil my mood by asking that. I went back into the room and got ready for bed. I took my whiteboard marker and wrote,

'Day 1095 since we last talked. My dear princess, today was a tiring day for me. I had to do a lot of work and it gave me a lot of stress. All is good though. I was still able to catch up. I had an egg-drop soup for supper. It's your favorite, isn't it? You tend to have it a lot when we talked. I, also, watched some Victorious on Netflix. I do agree that it is entertaining. I can see why you enjoy watching it and, Shana? I really miss you. Please answer me.'

I have been writing to her every day. I just couldn't stop. It's the only way I could stay sane. I tell myself that she's just busy and that she'll respond soon. Even though I know that it's a lie.

My mind was full of thoughts and somehow, I was drifted to sleep.
