Lucinda's POV

I'd just finished eating my dinner and went up to my room when I felt as though someone had hit me in the chest with a bat. My heart dropped and my head began to throb. I slid down the wall and slumped onto the floor. Suddenly my nose began to gush with blood so I quickly grabbed some tissues from my bed side table and tried to stop the bleeding. Something extremely bad has happened to Andrew and I just felt it. I need to get to the hospital.

I grabbed my phone, keys and some more tissues just in case my nose starts bleeding on the way there.

"Where are you going Luce?" My dad asked as I walked straight past him.

"Matt needs me to help him with something." I lied. He gave me a suspicious look before nodding. Before I left, I gave both parents a hug and a kiss on the cheek and told them that I loved them. I didn't want anything bad to happen to them too...

I quickly hopped in the car and drove to the hospital. Please be alright Andrew.

Once I had arrived, I went up to the front desk and asked for Andrew's room. The receptionist was really helpful and just told me straight up where he was. She could probably tell by my face that I needed to see him. I thanked her and headed for the lifts since it was on a different floor.

Once I got up to the floor Andrew was on, I began searching for his room. Eventually, I found it but there was a police officer guarding the door. Andrew, what have you done?

"Excuse me sir, is this Andrew Detmer's room?" I asked.

"Yes. Who are you?" He asked sternly.

"I'm Lucinda, his girlfriend. What happened to him?" I asked.

"He has second and third degree burns. I can't tell you how he sustained them." The officer said.

"Can I see him?" Was all I could say.

"Of course but the camera has to stay on for our investigation." He said and opened the door for me to go in. I entered the room and saw Andrew's helpless body lying there in the bed covered with bandages and casts. Realizing that the officer was right behind me, I asked him whether I could have a moment alone with him. He nodded and exited the room, leaving me alone with Andrew.

I grabbed a chair and pulled it up next to the bed and sat down, gently caressing Andrew's hand.

"Awwh, baby, what did you do?" I asked and tried to hold back my tears. "I'm still keeping the promise though, I'll always love you no matter what. And, I'll make a new one, right here and now. I promise to stay by your side and help you get through this." A tear fell from my cheek onto my lap and I just sobbed. "Andrew please wake up. I love you! I need you! I- I can't bear the thought of losing you." I whimpered.

The heart rate monitor was beeping faster than normal which means he knows I'm here and he can hear what I'm saying. I smiled weakly and kissed his dry pink lips then whispered in his ear to stay strong.

A knock at the door startled me as the police officer from before came in.

"The father wants to see him now." He said. I nodded and kissed him again before turning to walk out of the room. Before I left, I gave his dad the most menacing dirtiest look in the world as a warning.

Once I exited the room,  I was greeted with a female officer who looked to be in her early 40's with a soft Texan accent.

"Wow, you must really love him huh?" She sighed. "I'll get you a coffee." I smiled and took a seat in the chair that was outside Andrew's room. I really didn't trust Richard being allowed in there all by himself but he isn't that stupid, is he? I mean, there's police officers everywhere, surely that would make him see sense? A few minutes later, the female officer came back with a cup of coffee in her hand. I thanked her and took a sip.

Out of nowhere, a massive explosion shattered through the hospital, causing everyone to scream and panic. I knew what it was... and I needed to stop it. Richard was stupid enough! Why did I think it'd be different just because there are some guys in uniform that are supposed to protect people? I grabbed my phone and dialed Matt.

"Come on! ANSWER!" I screamed.

"Hello?" Matt answered.

"MATT! Matt, you have to come to the hospital! It's Andrew, he-" Before I could say another word, the phone cut off. I let out a frustrated growl and pushed past the police men that crowded outside Andrew's room.

"Miss! Excuse me but you can't go in here! It's not safe!" An officer yelled and tried to hold me back. I used my powers and released myself from his grip. Once I was free, I went into the room to find only smoke. Pushing forwards, I noticed that the contents of the room had been blasted outward.

"Andrew!" I yelled. Before I could say another word, a body flew past me and hit the wall. I looked over to see who it was and I saw the disgusting face of Andrew's dad. It almost amused me to see him quivering in fear but this was wrong.

"Andrew!" He doesn't have to be punished this way! He can rot in jail for the rest of his life!" I screamed, hoping Andrew would listen.

"THAT'S NOT ENOUGH!" He screamed from the other end of the room. His voice sounded as though he was possessed by the anger that he'd kept in for so long.

"Baby, this isn't who you are! I know you want him to suffer, I do too but not this way, please just stop!" I cried. My heart dropped as Andrew emerged from the smoke. Some of his bandages had ripped off, exposing the bloody flesh and his eyes were a cold murky gray colour. This wasn't the Andrew I knew...

"Stay. Out. Of. This." He growled. I went to grab his arm but he pushed me backwards. He then grabbed his dad by the legs and flew to the end of the room and out of the building. The screams and pleas from his dad didn't stop him as he let him go.

"NO!" I screamed and flew over to Andrew's side. I looked down and saw Matt had grabbed him before he could hit the ground. I breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Andrew.

"He. Will. Pay."
