TW// mentions of death, violence, and blood
Mihou and wukong were under the peach tree, cuddling on the tree branch despite what happened a few days ago, they were both tired but unfortunately for them, the lighting hit near ffm, making subtle lighting noises.
Wukong was afraid of thunder, that explains why they were cuddling. Mihou tried to comfort wukong by rubbing his back and muttering small comfort sentences while Wukong did the opposite; tearing up slightly while whimpering negative thoughts into mihou's chest.
"your okay.
"no.. nono i'm not... i'm- i'm scared!"
Wukong only whimpered more, mihou still trying his hardest to comfort the golden furred monkey, he was a bit sad by the action but he continued to mutter these words into his ear.
Thunder struck near the bottom of ffm, giving a big scare to wukong, which only made him grip onto mihou more.
mihou grabbed a peach from the tree, handing it to wukong.
"here."
wukong looked up at macaque, taking the peach. he smiled softly and ate it, macaque hovering his hands over the others ears.
some time passed, the storm went away and so too, did the rain and thunder.
"hey mihou... what was it like travelling here?.."
"well... why do you ask?"
"i've never been outside of flower fruit mountain."
"ah... uh..."
macaque started to tell the story, the world forming into his memory;
Macaque and his family had to move away from his original home since his home was somewhat always getting intruded by people who would occasionally try and kill parts of his tribe. one day, his mother and father tried to hide macaque in the trees with his older sister, that night, he heard arrows arching, shooting someone.
the rippling sound of bodies being hit with the arrow, hurt more mentally than physically.
he saw blood, dripping and sinking into the dirt. the blood scarring his eyes as he closed them and held onto his sister in fear. he sobbed, his sister comforting him. just like wukong and mihou were comforting eachother. the same position they were in now. it hurt a lot to go back and remember this.
after it was all done, mihou's sister grabbed macaque as they ran through the forest, macaque hearing his mother and father's screams, hugging his sister, he heard her gasp.
"... gh ..."
macaque looked at his sisters face, then down to her stomach. there it was, the arrow sticking out of her stomach, she dropped mihou, giving him one last hug and whispering in his ear;
"run, mihou ... run. dont look at me, i'll be fine. i'll be right behind you ... go and run as far as you can, please don't look back..."
she silently sobbed, knowing that wasn't true. her voice shook as she sounded hurt, wounded, sad ... mihou looked at his sister, carrying out her task as his black fur cloaked him in the darkness as the sun set for the night. he survived luckily, he only got one scar from that night though.
"and ... that was it, i never. saw her again. and then i travelled for a few years and ... found my way here."
