November 6th, 2038

Today was the day I was to be sent to the DPD, with the task of assisting in any open deviant cases. As I climbed the stairs and pushed open the front doors, a surprisingly pristine waiting room presented itself before me. Before I could do anything further, an objective popped up into peripheral vision. I was to find Captain Fowler and report to him for further instructions.  the reception desk was straight ahead, and I made my way over.

"I'm Here to meet with Captain Fowler."

The receptionist looked at me, "Do you have authorization?" It questioned.

"Captain Fowler is currently in a meeting with Lieutenant Anderson," It nodded its head to the security gates "But you can wait outside his office."  Alright. the glass doors all open and I walk into the room full of desks and officers rushing around trying to hit their monthly quotas. the back of the room is where the Captains office is, so I navigate around the chairs, officers, and stacks of papers. When I get there, I spot Lt. Anderson and Connor, receiving a talking to by Captain Fowler.  After a good 3 minutes they finally exited the office, and I took that as my chance to enter. However, someone knocked into me before I could reach the door.

"HOLY SHIT THATS FUCKING HOT!" The officer Infront of of me exclaimed as the coffee he was holding dripped from his jacket.

"My apologies, I didn't see you there."  I offer my hand to help him up, but it gets swatted away.

"Save it, tin can. I don't need your help." Wow, harsh much. Sidestepping him, I finally reach the door to the office.  Before he walks away, a quick scan tells me his name is Gavin Reed, a detective well known for his unpleasant behavior.

"Good Afternoon, Captain Fowler." The door glided shut behind me, as I stood Infront of his desk.

"God, finally. Those two are not going to get along well." He sighed rubbing his hands down his face. "You are going to be helping Anderson and that RK800 with the deviant cases. Understood?"

"Yes sir."

"Good, dismissed."

I pull the glass door shut behind me, making my way to Lieutenant Andersons desk, where Connor is trying to converse with him.

"It's an honor to be working with you, Lieutenant." Connor declared "I'm sure we'll make a great team." but to no response.

"Is there a desk anywhere that we can use?" I questioned

"God, there's more of them." The Lt. sighed. "No one's using that one." the Lieutenant pointed to the desk in front of him. I flashed him a quick smile then proceeded to sit on the chair, while Connor took to sitting on the edge of the desk. Before long, Connor broke the silence, and asked the Lieutenant if he had a dog. Lieutenant Anderson then gave him a skeptical look, and asked Connor how it got that information. "There are dog hairs on your chair." was Connor's response.

" I like dogs, what's your dog's name?" I inquire.

With a harsh look, he says, "What's it to you?" and then, after a short pause, "Sumo. I call him Sumo."

After some more questions, I spoke up "If you have any files on deviants, I'd like to take a look at them, if you don't mind."

"Terminals on your desk, knock yourself out."

After scanning through the files, Connor breaks the silence. "243 files, and the first one dates back nine months."

"It all started in Detroit, and quickly spread across the country." I continued. "An AX400 was to have assaulted a man last night, we can start there?" When Hank didn't respond, I got up out of the chair and walked over to stand beside him. He grumbled, "Uh, Jesus.."

"I know you didn't ask for this investigation, Lieutenant." I proclaim " But I'm sure you're a professional!"

'Why don't you go fuck yourself.' Was all I got for a response.

"I've been assigned this mission. And I won't wait for you to grow up and start working." That seemed to hit a nerve, because he grabbed my jacket by the collar and pushed me up to the wall.

"Listen, asshole. If it was up to me, I'd throw the lot of you in a dumpster and set a match to it! So stop pissing me off!" He hollered "Or things are gonna get nasty."
