The knight, though newly engaged to the princess, understood the importance of propriety and tradition. As night fell, she was shown to her quarters within the castle. Her room, modest yet comfortable, was situated in a wing reserved for esteemed guests. The stone walls, adorned with tapestries depicting heroic deeds, offered a sense of history and honor.
She lay on the sturdy bed, the flickering candle casting shadows that danced across the room, her thoughts lingering on the day's events. Though she longed to be closer to the princess, she respected the need for time and decorum. This period of courtship would allow them to truly understand each other, to build a foundation not just of duty, but of genuine affection.
