"Kay why you wearing pajamas?" Ariana said as her baby father walked through the door.

"Bro I don't ever wake up this early. I'm tired. You know how long it take to drive from the Bronx to here? Where she at?" He walked in with sleepy red eyes. It was 6 in the morning and Kay got barely a full hour of sleep.

It's been a few days since they last seen each other, despite him being busy with his business and music he made sure to facetime the two of them every night just so they didn't feel left out. He was still very busy and was running on no sleep, but couldn't miss Kimora's first day of school.

"Getting ready. You think I should slice up some mangos for her or put fruit snacks?" Ariana said, pacing around the kitchen for stuff.

"Fruit snacks. Yo Mora! Come out here." He yelled out.

"Kay it's 6 in the morning."

"Yeah which is why you shouldn't be stressing like this." He said kissing her forehead softly.

"I'm not stressing, I'm just new to this." She shrugged,

"Goodmorning daddy." Kimora walked up to him, with her arms folded. He noticed she wasn't her usual happy self.

"Damn I can't get no kiss today?" He said kneeling to her height. She fought the smirk off her face and gave him a kiss. He picked her up, kissing her all over face, tickling her making her laugh uncontrollably.

"Why you got an attitude?" He questioned.

"I'm tired. Can I go to school tomorrow?" She pouted.

"Nah baby it's your first day, you can't miss it."

"Well Kay it's your fault, you the one who stayed on the phone late with her last night." Ariana said.

"Here. Come eat some breakfast before you go." He said sitting her on his lap, at the dining table.

"Mommy what is this?"

"Plaintain Porridge." She said. Kimora was never really a picky eater but today she was working her nerves.

Her face curled up into a disgusted look when her mother turned around. Kay chuckled and sat next to her.

"I'll get you some Mcdonald's after school. Alright? Just eat it." He said lowly to her. "Your mom's stressed right now." He said looking over to see Ariana was now packing her school bag to make sure everything was there. He noticed when she bent over, how fitted her pencil skirt was. With the way she was walking around so much, he forgot to even look at her. She had her natural hair pulled back into a neat slick bun with a grey pencil skirt with a white dress shirt to match.

"You going to work dressed like that?" He questioned her, taking note of how well her clothes brought out her shape.

"What's wrong with this?"

"Nun." He shrugged. "I don't like how that skirt fitted on you."

"You want me to leave my butt at home or something?"

Kimora's laugher made them look at her. She smiled up at her parents, her faint dimples poking out. He smiled back and let his eyes dart back at Ariana.

"Ma what else you need done?" He said resting his chin over Kimora's shoulder.

"I'm done. I just have to finish getting dressed. Do me a favor and put her shoes on when she done."

"I gotchu." He looked down at her plate and seen it was almost halfway done.

"You don't wanna eat nothing?" Ariana asked him as she put her heels on.

"It's too early to be eating." He sucked his teeth, rubbing his tired face.

She quickly finished getting herself ready, spraying her setting spray and slipping her heels on. Kay helped out, getting Kimora together once she finished her food. The three made their way out outside and into Kay's car. The short drive was filled with Ariana asking Kimora a bunch of questions.

"Ma she good. This light for her." Kay shrugged, trying to shut her up when he pulled up to the school. "For all this money we paying, she better be good."

Kay got Kimora out of the car while Ariana started snapping pictures. She was beyond proud of herself for even getting to this point, raising a beautiful healthy girl. She adjusted her school sweater on her, buttoning it up.

"Bye baby. Come give me a hug." Ari cooed.

"You embarrassing her." Kay mumbled.

"Bye princess." Kay's long arms wrapped around her small frame. He planted a kiss on her forehead. "I love you. Have a good day at school. Behave."

"Thank you daddy. I love you too. Bye." She waved at the both of them before walking in. The two watched her walk down, both in awe. Kevin looked over at Ariana, furrowing his eyebrows seeing she was crying silently.

"Why you crying?" He asked placing his hand on her back.

Ariana quickly wiped her tear, sniffing. "It's just my baby finally in school. I always thought people was dragging it when they cried but this shit really getting to me."

"She growing up. That's all. You did a good job with her." He wiped her face that was quickly getting puffy.

"Thank you." She forced herself to smile up at him. "You are too. I don't know if i told you that."

"You don't have to." He said opening the door so she could get back in his car. "I'll drop you off at work."

"Okay thank you." She said as her hand rested on her lap as she fiddled with her fingers. She was nervous and didn't know why. She hated awkwardness.

"So you not going to talk about the other day?" Kay brought up

"What is there to talk about?" She shrugged. "It happened. It didn't mean anything. All that stuff I was chatting about, don't mind it. I was just drunk."

He knew she was lying but he felt hurt by her words. She barely drunk that night. He swallowed the lump in his throat as he drove. "It didn't mean nothing to you?"

"When we going to just stop playing with each other feelings? This is getting old. We don't really want each other so let's just stop."

"I want you. I been told you what I want. How am I playing with you?"

"Last time you told me you wanted me, you was with your girlfriend the day right after."

"I'm single. I don't got a girlfriend."

"I don't believe you."

He unlocked his phone, tossing it in her lap as he approached a red light. She looked at him and shook her head. "I don't wanna see it."

"Just look. You steady saying I'm still fucking with her whole time she blocked." He insisted.

She exhaled, taking a sip of her drink, preparing herself for whatever she was about to see. She went through his messages seeing his inbox was filled with his homeboys. There were several females that were there texting him, but it didn't seem like he messaged them back. She even looked at his recently deleted messages and didn't find much.

"Mhm." She said handing him back his phone.

"So can you just stop playing? Give me a chance."

"I'll think about, but if you do some funny shit again I swear you'll only be hearing from me if it has to do with Kimora."

"I gotchu ma." He licked his lips, staring at her. Their moment was briefly cut short when his phone went off. Since his phone was connected his car, he decided to pick it up with his car, not caring if Ariana heard the conversation.

"Yo?"

"Yo Kay Kay? Where you at?" An unfamiliar voice to Ariana said. She looked at the caller id that read "Swervo."

"I'm around. What happened?"

"We got them." The voice said. Kay remained quiet for a few seconds, looking over at Ariana who had a confused look on her face.

"Alright. I'm coming. Give me a hour I know this traffic about to be crazy. Yall can hold it down for one more hour?"

"Yeah we gotchu." With that being said Kay thanked him, then hung up. He knew Ariana had a bunch of thoughts on her mind and he was right. All she could think about was that he was getting himself in trouble again and she couldn't do anything about it. He was stubborn, even if she tried to talk him out
of it he wouldn't listen to her. She nervously chewed on her lip, glancing at him every now and then to see if he'd speak. He sat there in silence as he approached her office building, feeling nothing but guilt.

"Alright we here." He said knocking her out of her thoughts. She looked out the window and picked up her purse.

"Where are you going?"

"I got to handle something ma." He quickly leaned over kissing her cheek. "I'll be back. What time she get out of school again?"

"3?"

He looked at his phone and sucked his teeth. "I might not be there to pick her up. I'm sorry."

"It's her first day? You deadass?" She scrunched her face up.

"I know I'm sorry. Tell her I'll make it up to her. I'll come over tonight."

"How late will that be? She has school in the morning I'm not keeping her up for long." She said with a hint of attitude.

"I'll be here extra early tomorrow. Okay? You can get some sleep, I'll get her ready and shit." He said getting out of the car, opening her side of the door.

She stepped out, facing him with a hesitant look on her face. "What's so important that you got to leave?"

"Chill." He said pressing his lips onto her soft lips, letting his hands rest on her butt. "Have a good day at work ma." He lastly said before walking off. He heard her suck her teeth before he got back in the car, before he knew it she was already walking away.

It was a lot of shit going on in Kay's street life right now and he didn't want to alarm Ariana at all because she's he knew how she got. As soon as he pulled off he called Swervo back.

"They saying them Sugarhill niggas spinning tonight." Swervo said

"How you know?"

"My man's fuck with some bitch there. Ion know if we should trust it."
