"...what?" Kali asked, looking at Krystal with wide eyes. "Did you just say...?"
"Krystal...you can't read the room, can you?" Sapphire sighed.
"What?" Krystal asked innocently, looking towards her friend.
"Your family has been practically glaring daggers at Jack this whole time." Sapphire sighed.
"Okay...I'll admit I didn't notice that..." Krystal awkwardly laughed. "But I did notice Mom's wariness."
"Then why would you say that?" Anna facepalmed.
"You're telling me...you are dating my daughter?" Kali asked, her gaze piercing my soul.
"Actually, we aren't dating..." I replied.
Her glare became harder. "Excuse me...? Taking advantage of her when you aren't-"
"We aren't like that!" I quickly denied her thoughts.
"Ah..." Krystal blushed from the thought of me and her...doing things. Unfortunately her Mom misread that.
"What did you do to her?!" She yelled, slamming her hands on the table as she stood up. She pointed at me accusingly. "How dare you corrupt my daughter?!"
"Honey, calm down." Krystal's Dad sweatdropped. "I'm sure you're misunderstanding..."
"How could I?! He seduced my daughter right after her break-up with her horrible boyfriend!" Her Mom yelled.
I lightly flinched. I will admit, I don't like how quickly Krystal fell for me. Either that was the System, or she rebounded.
"You shouldn't doubt her love for you." Sally stated. "Maybe Monsters just fall in love quicker."
I think it's more of a Krystal thing than a monster thing...
"There's no need to worry ma'am." Anna stated. "He's in a relationship with me."
"That just makes me worry even more!" Kali argued. "So he's seduced you too?! How are you alright with dating a cheater like him?!"
"Jack is not a-" Anna growled, before being cut off by me standing up.
"Anna, don't." I sighed.
"You...get out of my house." Kali growled.
"Honey, calm down." Her husband tried to quell her anger.
"Oh dear, this isn't good." The Grandma sighed.
"Look, I'm sorry about this." I sighed. "I didn't come here to try and antagonize you. I came to try to convince you to let Krystal come back to Hell High."
"And why would I do that with you there?" She growled, seething with anger.
"I know you're worried about her, but she'll be safe. If Duncan comes back, I'll promise to protect her." I gestured to Anna and Sapphire. "We all will."
"I'm not worried about Duncan, he was expelled." Kali stated. "I'm worried about YOU."
"I was the one who discovered that Duncan was cheating." I stated.
"What?" Kali asked, taken aback.
"It's true." Sapphire nodded. "He was the one who discovered it. Got it on tape, then gave it to me to show to Krystal."
"I was really angry when that happened..." Krystal sighed. "But I'm glad I found out. Jack is a much better person than Duncan."
"How do you know?!" Kali yelled. "You have a horrific taste in men! Look what happened the last time! You fall in love way too quickly!"
"Mom?!" Krystal gasped, hurt.
"Honey, that's a little far-" Her husband added.
"How do you know he isn't tricking you like how Duncan was?!" She exclaimed. "What if he planned to make you fall for him by using Duncan?!"
I wouldn't do that.
"Jack wouldn't-!" Krystal tried to argue.
"And you know how? Like how you knew that Duncan was cheating on you?" Kali spat.
"Mom..." Krystal gasped, tears in her eyes. Her eyes displayed hurt at the events that were happening.
It made me upset. I understood why her Mom was so angry, but that didn't give her the right to lash out at her daughter like that.
I needed to stop this.
"Ma'am, I'm sorry." I sighed. "I'm just going to leave, so everyone can cool down. It's obvious I'm not wanted here."
"Jack..." The three girls sadly said.
I started to walk away before Krystal's Grandpa made me freeze with his words.
"Oh, so you're running away like a coward?" He asked, smirking.
"...Excuse me?" I replied, looking at him.
"As soon as you find out you can't convince your victim's family, you attempt to flee. That's an obvious sign of a coward." He chuckled.
"Don't insult-" Sapphire started.
"And now you're hiding behind the girls you've seduced. You're just as bad as her dick boyfriend Duncan." He laughed.
I felt my fist slam into the table, making everything silent.
"Do. Not. Compare. Me. To. Duncan." I growled.
"So you do have a backbone." He laughed. "With all of the abuse from Kali you were taking I thought you were some spineless coward."
I lifted my fist from the table, taking a deep breath to calm myself down. "I should really go." I tried to walk out again.
"You're running." He stated. "Running away again."
"...Then what do you suppose I do?" I slowly asked.
"Fight." He shrugged.
"...Look, I'm just here to try to convince you to let Krystal come back to Hell High." I sighed. "I don't want any trouble. I just want to help a friend."
"But is she really a friend?" He antagonized me once more.
"She is." I replied through gritted teeth. "I'm sorry, I never meant for her to fall for me. I was just trying to help my friend, like I am now."
"I am here because of Krystal." I stated. "I am here because Krystal wants to come back to Hell High, and she asked me for my help to convince you."
"I am here because you don't understand her wishes." I continued. "Have you seen Krystal? Her illusions are amazing. She could easily protect herself."
"And if she can't, then Sapphire, Anna, and I are there for her. And so are her other friends." I stated. "No matter what happens, I will be there to protect her."
"Jack..." Krystal blushed.
"So let her come back to Hell High, please." I bowed to them. "Please allow her to come back."
It was silent.
"...I like him." Krystal's grandfather laughed.
"Dear, you shouldn't have antagonized him like that." Her Grandma sighed. "But I think letting her return would be fine."
"Are you two crazy?! With him?!" Kali pointed at me.
"Dear...think calmly." Krystal's Dad tried to calm her down once again.
"I don't want him in this house. Your other two friends can stay, but he has to go." She stated. "I will not let him sleep in this house."
"Mom-?!" Krystal gasped.
"Krystal. Don't." I sighed. "Look, I won't sleep here. I'll leave your house. But I'm not leaving Shippo village until I can convince you to let Krystal come back with us."
"Get out." Kali whispered, tears in her eyes.
"I'm going." I stated.
I took one last glance at the girls, giving them a small smile. I walked outside of the house, closing the door behind me.
I sat down near the door, sighing. That couldn't have gone worse...
"It could have." Sally stated. "Her Mom could have tried to fight you."
And we weren't that far from that.
"Jack!" Krystal yelled, panicked. She quickly became relieved when she saw me sitting next to the door. She sat down next to me.
"I'm sorry." She sighed. "Don't listen to her. She doesn't trust you, and that made her say some nasty things."
"But she has every right to not trust me." I stated. "She brought up some valid points, however ridiculous they sound."
I looked at her. "How do you know that I'm not tricking you, right now?"
"Because then we wouldn't be having this conversation." She smiled at me. "If you were tricking me, then you wouldn't be like this."
"You are amazing." She placed her hand upon me. "You are the kindest, coolest man I have ever met. And I love you so much for that."
"I'm sorry." I sighed.
I was saying it for many things. For failing at convincing her mother, for roping her into my "harem", for not telling her about the system.
For making her fall in love with me.
"I didn't get her to budge at all." I stated. "If anything, I made it even worse. I shouldn't have lost my temper like that."
"I...actually think it was pretty impressive." Krystal softly said. "They were throwing so much at you to hurt you, yet it took so long until you became aggressive."
"That was...pretty amazing." She smiled.
"It didn't feel like it. I shouldn't have gotten angry at all." I sighed.
"You have emotions." Krystal stated, poking me in the chest. "We all do. It's not your fault. It never was."
...
I couldn't help but feel like this whole situation was my fault. Convincing her family would have been so much easier if I hadn't came here.
And her Mom don't wrong. I have been tricking her. I made her fall in love with me because of the System, whether I wanted it or not. I've been tricking her this whole time.
I needed to do it. I needed to reveal to her the truth. And then...if she didn't want to come back, I would completely understand.
"Krystal..." I said. "I have something to tell you."
