Tin POV

"It's been 4 days since that night Rhett. Please don't get started again. Brett would kill me if he knew." I mumbled the same sentence I have been uttering in different ways. We were in my office discussing the next combined project of the 'Medthanan group and ' Merens and company'.
Expect Rhett here chose not to.

Methane is our company named after well, no secret there, us. My dad says he wished to name his real estate company 'Mina and co' after his mother. But then due to his partners and the popularity of the market had to make it Medthanan. If that doesn't make sense well c'mon, it has worked for us. Also, I am pretty sure Tul wouldn't have liked that.

And about the Meren's, they are the concrete suppliers since my dad started the company. Rhett Merens and Brett Merens have taken over the company now after their mother who used to run the company turned 75 this year.

Rhett runs the concrete business while Brett runs this chain of bitumen factories they had opened 6 years ago. Brett is kinda good at business better than Rhett and me at least cause 6 years and he is exporting bitumen to 4 countries in East Asia for their roads.

While I am still stuck at where my dad started, restricted to North America. And still, we are sitting here and discussing irrelevant things instead of doing business. At least the hotels are doing well thanks to Tul.
"Hello are to back to Can?" Rhett asks waving a hand in front of my eyes.
"Rhett I know you missed your honeymoon because of this project but you don't have to find so many ways to not work." I snap.

"My honeymoon was long over sweets we just wanted to do it in a different location. But what about you? At least I don't deny something I have on a girl, like you." He replies smirking.

Just when I was about to trash him or throw him out, the door opened itself. And no, it wasn't a ghost...though I would have preferred one over the person who walked in.

"Dad!?" I gulped.
I did nothing. Nothing about the project.
"Uncle" Rhett acknowledged him standing up. Act as much as you want pretty boy both of us are dead.
"Ah! Hello now, what's the argument about?" He asked eyeing each of us happily.
"It was about a new plan..." Rhett starts with cluelessness written all over his face.
"It's nothing pere. Rhett here has lost it." I said wanting him to drop the topic.

"No lad all the brilliant ideas start seemingly stupid. What is it?" He insisted.
"Dad it's not something we do. It's out of our sphere of business." I reason.
"But I can listen to it. And businesses are meant to expand" He replied defiantly.
Well, I might as well say something stupid now. What would it be?
Expand? Someone had used this word with me 4 days ago.

"You can expand the business and put your work in it so that you pass of 3-4 times of what your dad is gonna give you to your future. That itself is an achievement. For people like me earning enough to sustain is a harder job."
Can's voice rang inside my head. Right, that is what I want.

"Rhett here" I start tactically so that if something goes wrong everything goes onto him." think that because the new estimates state that half the youth of America opt for odd jobs like cleaning, working in a restaurant or something menial like that which also has professionals. And other surveys now states that half of the major companies all falling short of call centres to tend to business I mean like tell people who call about products and listen to complaints. So I was thinking... I mean Rhett was thinking how about we solve both the problems? Get the youth their perfect 6-hour job with the perfect pay coz we are a big company they'll trust us as well and meanwhile approach the larger companies." I finished my speech carefully eyeing dad in case he starts... I don't do anything.

"So open a call centre. That's your great idea Rhett?" My dad demanded him.
"Woah..thinking about it that's a bad idea. How about we chuck it then huh?" He responds almost frightened.

"That's a brilliant idea if you have got the statistics right?" Dad pauses to laugh and looks at me." Son, I want you to research this. I want to see this come true." He announced and I knew I had work to do.

"What was that?" Rhett demanded after dad left.
"Huh? You tell me." I retorted going through Google already.
"If it had backfired mister? My dad would have been all over me by this evening." He slouched with a thud on his chair.

I didn't even realise we had been standing till now.
"Well, you like having people go all over you right? Now tell are you with me in it dude " I asked him. I don't care cause with or without him I am doing this but wouldn't hurt to have him.

"Don't dude me. I think it's gonna work. And my thoughts usually don't work." He replied laughing.
"Did you just jinx the work?"
"No boy but gotta leave wifey waiting to have lunch." He said collecting his stuff.
"Your Wifey must have done more work than you in her bakery since morning." I snorted in reply of which he stuck out his tongue and did 'bruhh' before leaving.
Very mature.

After a long at work, I start to leave for home. It's almost 8:30 pm and my eyes ache like hell. A full day in front of the laptop is taking its toll. As I go towards my home, I see the hotel Courante flashing its lights at me.
'He is not working here' I remind myself but pull over in front of the hotel and see the hotel valet walking up to me in the rearview mirror. I down my car window and take a five-dollar note.
"Just a sec dude," I said not exactly paying attention to him. I should stop this dude thing.
"Yeah dude but blocking the parking lot ain't a great idea." I hear a familiar male voice chuckling to my ear.
"Hey Can." I squint at her retrieving my 5 dollar note.
"Hey, Tin."
"I was thinking... Wanna catch up?" I blurt out. Great, I didn't know what he was doing here or anything and all I care about is going out with him. Whatever happened to 'forget this ever happened?'
"I would but I am on duty." He said tapping his 'valet' badge.
"Why valet?"
"Because he didn't want me again in his hotel and I badly want this job so. if you don't go out or in now I'll be chucked out again." He replied smiling.
"Oh sorry," I said pulling inside. Yeah, I left the idea of going back home in case you haven't figured ed out. Why? Well, that I haven't figured out.
