In time frames of a second, lives pass. It was a shame to waste time on useless objects. A cat toy was one.

A teen of dulled red hair sat on the porch of his father's house, a small cat toy jumping in his hands. In his neighborhood, the street cats would come by in the early morn to greet this young man. On this day, it was not the day. The clouds stirred upon the blue sea sky and it showered.

Madeki Roeden, was the boy's name.

He sat in the waiting area outside under the front doors canopy, his eyes on the toy. It made him cherish the object. Small orange ears. Stubbed pink nose, and a fat body. The simple design of the inserted bell just made him smile adorably. The jingle of sounds syncing with the rain harmonized a tune in the wind. It was an cute toy, it was a pleasing time passer. Madeki looked up at the rain,  he stuck his hand out and washed it of the stress. Thoughts feeding into him each drop.

After his job as an actor in a western country and being very successful, It did not please him.  He felt undesirable to work there. It was semi-fun and easy...but not enjoyable. It was an unstable job- though, it paid the bills, gave him food, clothing, companions. It seemed more like a joke. He decided to come back home, to take a break from the lights and money. Something more family oriented. Something real. Madeki dropped the toy onto his lap.

"Keep doing that and you'll get sick." A sudden hand grasped Madeki's arm and pulled it away into the shade.

Madeki blinked out from his trance and put his hand down onto the wooden deck, embarrassed. His arm soaked in the clouds wet pour. The sky roared. Madeki looked over to the side to see his best friend sitting beside him, offering him a drink. His face lit up and he spoke jokingly.

"You seem kinda sneaky today, more quiet than usual.  I didn't even hear ya!" Madeki took the cooled beverage, feeling pleased. Cheeks beaming out a joyful radiance as he took a quenching gulp.

His friend scoffed and looked forwards at the yard full of gathering puddles. "Not like I expect you to notice. You were hazed out. Glad to see you're fine."

Dark sleek hair covered in and towel and a grimace of an expression showed his face. The face of the Deightons, an intimidating glare compared to the Roedens. Pierce was the tag along friend.  Madeki's friend since the day they were born. Pierce, The nineteen year old, had the same occupation as his friend. Due to having the same job, the two boys bonded over the empty space they created over the years. When it came time, both went into vacation. To Pierce, spending his time off and relaxing with a friendly family, was acceptable.  Though, the two have never seen each other since they were young, but this never stopped them. Neither them, nor the Roeden family cared as much. They were reunited.

The two sat and watched the warm rain, drinking away the fizz.
