Y/n's POV:

November 1st started as a crisp and cool breeze. The weeks soon rolled by and it was the night before the first task of the triwizard tournament. I sat in the library with Cedric all day, trying to find a way to get past a dragon.

"You know, I've become quite good at using only one hand" I joked to Cedric. My arm is less bruised but I'm still using a sling, until tomorrow. I need to hand it back to Madame Pomfrey tomorrow afternoon after the first task.

Fred had become quite protective of me and my arm. Ensuring that no one touches it so I don't get hurt.

"Y/n" began Cedric. "It's not in the time to joke" he continued. "I don't need you right now" he nearly yelled.

"Fine, I'll see you around" I said sternly. Grabbed my bag and walked away.

"Y/n" I heard Cedric yell. I didn't turn around. I walked away, a tear formed in my eye as I heard the librarian shout at Cedric to be quiet.

I walked out the library and back to the common room. I sat down next to Fred, wiping a tear away from my eye.

"Are you ok darling?" He asked. "Is it something Cedric done?" I nodded my head. I could see and hear both his fists clench.

"What did he do" he asked angrily.

"I was trying to joke around with him but he snapped and told me he didn't need my help" I said quickly.

I leaned into Fred's side, he wrapped his arm around me and was rubbing my right arm to comfort me.

"It's ok y/n" whispered Fred. "Don't listen to Diggory" he kissed me forehead and I just laid there, not saying anything just taking in his loving self.

I don't know how long I was laying there for but it seemed so fast.

"Lovey, it's time for dinner" Fred said

"Oh. Right. Let's go" I said. We all stood up, the boys took their usual formation around me. As we walked I heard someone say my name.

"Y/n!" I turned around and Cedric was running up to me.

"Leave her alone Diggory" snapped Fred and George at the same time. Lee just gave him a evil stare.

"Thank you boys" I said to the three of them, glanced at Cedric before looking away and talking to Fred, George and Lee.

We whet into the great hall and sat in our usual seats I didn't feel hungry, I was nervous, for Harry and Cedric for tomorrow. I played with the pasta on my plate or swirled my drink.

"What's wrong y/n/n" asked Lee. George and Fred looked over and looked concerned.

"I'm not hungry" I said, still playing with the pasta with my fork.

"Lovey, you need to eat something" said Fred concerned.

"I- I can't. I don't feel hungry" I gave the boys a small smile before standing up and leaving the great hall.

I walked back to the common room alone, enjoying the silence. It gave me time to reflect on what Cedric said.

"Password" said the fat lady

"Caput Draconis" I said. The portrait hole opened and I crawled in. The common room was completely empty, but I decided to go to my dorm.

I was getting out some comfortable clothes of jogging bottoms and my Weasley jumper, but then the door swung open.

My dorm mate Hermione Granger walked in looking concerned.

"What's wrong" I asked

"Y/n, the twins and Lee are waiting downstairs for you." She replied "They want to talk to you"

"Yeah, ok. Quickly tell them that I'm changing but I will be down soon"

She nodded and walked out, I went into the bathroom to change and put my hair in a messy bun. I walked out said bye to Hermione then walked into the common room.

"Hello" I said timidly.

"Hey lovey" said Fred. All three boys gave me a small smile "come sit"

Fred pointed at a space on the sofa next to him. I sat down and he pulled me into a hug, his long arms wrapping around me.

"What's wrong y/n" asked a concerned George.

"Nothing" I lied. I was so nervous for the task tomorrow.

"Y/n we've known you for 6 years, you don't just go off your food" said Lee. All the boys nodded in agreement.

"Fine I'll tell you" I sighed "I'm nervous"

"For what" Fred asked.

"The task tomorrow, I'm nervous for Cedric and Harry." I said. I rambled on for what felt like 10 minutes. The boys didn't stop me. They just say there and listened to me. When I finished I started crying. It felt good to get it out of my system.

The boys embraced me in a long hug. I've never appreciated my best friends more than right now.

"Y/n we have something for you" muttered Fred

"What is it" I asked.

"Well. We have two things" corrected George

The boys blindfolded me and Fred picked me up. I had no clue where I was going.

After a long time Fred put me down. They lifted the blindfold and saw their dorm neat and tidy.

"SLEEPOVER" yelled Lee

I screamed of excitement and started jumping around.

"And we also have..." continued George.

Fred turned around to show me my food I didn't eat at dinner, my favourite dessert and a drink. I sat down and ate, the boys made sure I did.

We decided to play truth or dare to put my mind off the tasks. These boys know how to put my mind off, I started first

"Lee, truth or dare" I asked.

"Truth" he replied

"Ok then... if you have to give up me, Fred or George, who would it be and why"

The twins loved that question. Lee was in deep thought.

"George because he pranks me the most"

George gave a dramatic gasp but we started laughing.

"Alright Fred, truth or dare" Lee asked.

"Dare, I'm not scared." He replied

"I dare you to kiss y/n" I smiled and my stomach was full of butterflies.

Both me and Fred blushed, he leaned in closer about to lock lips but we heard someone coming.

I ran and hid in the bathroom. I didn't know exactly what happened but I thought I heard McGonagall's voice telling them off.

When she left Lee came to get me from the bathroom. We had all agreed that we should go to sleep. They had a noise complaint I felt disappointed I didn't get to kiss Fred.

I got ready for bed, brushed my teeth and re done my bun. I climbed into Fred's bed. But this time, he he was in bed to. He pulled me in for a cuddle. I leant against Fred's chest. The sound of his heart beat soothed me off to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up, Fred's arms wrapped around me. His closeness made me feel happy and forget what is happening today. I slid my way out and put a pillow of where I used to lay.

I went in the bathroom, showered, changed and put my sling on. Once ready I walked out of the bathroom to find all three boys fully dressed.

"You left me lovey" said Fred sadly

"I know. I'm sorry I had to get ready" I went over to kiss his forehead. "Come on. Let's get breakfast" I said. Bounced out of the room with the boys following behind.

We were walking down the corridor when I heard someone call my name.

"Y/n please let me talk to you" Cedric desperately called.

I saw all three boys clench their fists. "Fine. I'll talk to you. Go to the hall boys, I'll be there soon"

They all nodded and walked away, Fred's fists still clenched.

"What Cedric" I said reluctantly.

"I want to say sorry y/n, I was under a lot of pressure yesterday. I regret what I said. I did need your help" he said sympathetically. "Usually I found your jokes funny. And I'm sorry I snapped at you"

"It's fine" I said easing up abit. "I'm really nervous for you. I'll be your biggest supporter"

He smiled and hugged before we went into the great hall for breakfast. I sat down next to Fred and started eating some cereal.

"What was that about" he asked sternly and stiff.

"Cedric apologised, I forgave him" I replied.

"Are you sure you can trust him y/n" said Fred.

"What is up with you today? I can trust him."

At that moment there was a announcement for the champions to go down to the champion tent. The twins and Lee stood up to go and get ready to place bets. I walked to Cedric.

"Hey Ced" I said

"Oh hey y/n, are you okay" he asked with a smile.

"Yeah, I'm good. Are you going to the champion tent?"

"I'm going now. Care to come with me. I need some support"

"Of course. Let's go now" I grabbed his hand and pulled him up. I got some jealous stares from some Hufflepuff girls. We started walking out and going down to the arena.

We walked in deep conversation, I was trying to keep his mind off the tournament.

"Good luck, you'll do great" I said "I'll be down as soon as your done" I smiled

"Thank you y/n, I appreciate it"

I gave him a hug for good luck but I saw a massive flash of white light.

"Young love" said a lady with blond hair and a horrendous green dress

"Rita Skeeter, what are you doing here" asked Cedric.

"And plus we're just friends" I added and Cedric nodded in agreement.

"Maybe if this is terrible, you might make the front page" she said completely disregarding what we just said.

"I should probably go. The twins will be looking" I said. I waved Cedric goodbye before finding my seat.

I saw Fred, George and Lee all waving to me. I made it way up and pushed many people out the way. I stood between the twins.

"Hey boys" I said to the three of them.

George and Lee replied but Fred didn't

"What's up Fred" I asked.

"What's between you and Diggory?" He nearly shouted.

"Nothing, we're only friends nothing more. And my heart belongs to someone else" I winked at him. He grabbed my hand and went back to normal.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the first task of the triwizard tournament" Started Ludo Bagman, the head of international games and sports, the whole stadium fell quiet.

"Today our champions will have to retrieve the golden egg from a dragon" as he was saying this a Swedish Short-Snout was being moved in. "The egg will give a vital clue and is essential for the next task. First up... Cedric Diggory!"

There were loud cheers, but no one cheered louder than me. Cedric came out and smiled at me. I saw Fred tense up. I rubbed his arm and moves some hair out of his face.

Cedric had stood by the entrance. The dragon noticed and shot a flame at him. My hand went over my mouth expecting the worst. But he emerged from behind the rock. Then he grabbed his wand, transfigured a stone into a Labrador dog. The dragon paid her concentration on the dog. Cedric ran and grabbed the egg. The cheers from the crowd had made the dragon turn her attention back to Cedric. She once again shot fire at him. As soon as the flame vanished I saw half his face and arm was burnt.

"Well done Mr Diggory, he has successfully retrieved the egg" the cheers from the crowd were drowned out by my worry.

"Fred I'm going to see Cedric"

He went stiff, I reached up and kissed his cheek.

"Goodbye Darling" I said as I walked away.

I ran to the medic tent. Cedric was laying in a bed, his burns looked worse here that over in the arena.

"Oh my gosh are you okay Cedric" I asked worried.

"What does it look like" he joked I let out a small laugh.

"Ah y/n, are you able to help me" asked Madame Pomfrey.

"Of course I can" I replied. I took off the sling and handed it back to her.

"Please may you run this anti- burn paste on his burnt areas" I nodded and she passed me a greenish brown paste.

"Are you ready" I asked. He nodded.

I put my fingers in the paste. I then rubbed it on his face and massaged it in, he winced a little but hardly made any noise. I had rubbed the paste all over his burnt areas. It stunk and my fingers were sticky. We both laughed and I went to wash my hands.

"How are you feeling" I asked worried

"Feeling better, I had a great healer" he smiled as he said that.

"Or I had a great patient" I said. We both smiled at each other.

"Please may all champions make their way outside for scoring" boomed Ludo Bagman.

I helped Cedric out of bed and he walked over to the outside of the tent.

"In forth place... Fleur Delacour" a scream of Bauxbatons women could be heard.

"In third place... Harry Potter" again loud screams were heard.

"In second place... Cedric Diggory" I screamed the loudest of them all"

"And in first... Viktor Krum!" The Durmstrang students cheered whilst everyone clapped.

The champions came all looking very happy!

"You did it, you came second" I yelled and jumped, pulling him into a hug "well done" I muttered.

"Thank you y/n" he said. "Come on. Let's go"

Me and Cedric walked back up the castle. He told me exactly what happened in every detail. I listened intently before he walked me to my common room.

"There you go y/n, thank you for coming with me" he said.

"Bye Cedric" he kissed my hand and left.

I walked into the Gryffindor common room and the twins were holding Harry up me and Fred made eye contact. He smiled before turning away. Was he mad at me? I thought.

"We knew you wouldn't die Harry" said Fred

"Lose a leg" continued George

"Or an arm" said Fred

"Pack it in all together" finished George

"NEVER" the both yelled.

A boy with sandy brown hair called Seamus Finnigan handed Harry his egg.

"Go on Harry" he said "open it up"

"Who wants me to open it" Harry asked. The whole common room yelled yess.

Harry opened his egg. It was silent for a second before it let out a deathly screech. Many people including me had covered our ears. The twins had dropped Harry to cover their ears. After what felt like forever, the common room went silent. We stood there in silence before...

"What the bloody hell was that all about?" Shouted Ron.

The common room stared at Ron then back to Harry.

"Alright everyone go back to your knitting, this will be awkward enough without you nosy sods listening in" Said Fred

Everyone dispersed back to their usual areas. Fred came over to me looking down and having a sad expression on his face.

"Y/n can I have a word" he asked solemnly.

"Okay. Let's go out the common room. We will be more private" I replied. We both walked out the common room and stood there for a minute.

"Y/n just tell me what things are like between you and Diggory" he said sombrely. His face was still towards the ground.

"Freddie" I said, cupping his face in my hands. "Me and Cedric are only friends, I said earlier that my heart belongs to someone else"

"Promise" he said

"I promise" I replied.

Fred's face lit up again, he became giddy and happy.
"May I take your arm in a dance" he said
"Of course" I replied.

Fred grabbed my waist and I took his shoulder, we slow danced to nothing but it was just us, outside the common room, alone. It was the best night of my life.

"Y/n. Can I,you know" he asked shyly.

"Of course" I said already knowing what he wanted to ask.

He lent in and his and my lips locked perfectly. It was the most amazing moment. We kissed passionately. Our lips were made for each other's.

He pulled away telling me it's getting late, he escorted me to my dorm. He gave me a goodnight kiss before I went in, got ready and laid down. This has been the best day ever.
