The week passed by faster than anticipated. As the morning of Sunoo's departure arrived, Niki woke up feeling an odd sense of emptiness. It was unusual for Sunoo to be absent, as he never missed a day of school.

Niki arrived at school and headed to the usual meeting spot, but Sunoo wasn't there. His concern grew, and he sought out Jay, hoping for some answers.

"Hyung, where's Sunoo?" Niki asked, looking around with a hint of desperation.

"Oh, Niki," Jay said, his voice tinged with sadness. He looked at Niki with a heavy heart. "It's his last day. He got into JYP Performance School."

Niki's face went pale, and his heart sank. The news hit him like a ton of bricks. He struggled to process the words. "JYP Performance School? But... why didn't he tell me? Why didn't he say goodbye?"

Jay sighed, his own emotions evident. "He wanted to. But with everything going on, he felt it was best to respect your space. He's been trying to make the most of this opportunity, and he didn't want to add to what you're already dealing with."

Niki stood there, numb. The reality of Sunoo's departure was more painful than he had anticipated. He felt a mix of sorrow, regret, and confusion. Sunoo had always been his rock, and now he was gone, leaving an empty space where his friend used to be.

"Where is he now?" Niki asked, his voice barely a whisper.

"Out in the front," Jay said gently. "Saying goodbyes."

Niki nodded, his heart heavy with emotion. He tried to hold back his tears as he turned and ran toward the front of the school, his footsteps echoing down the empty corridors. The weight of the situation pressed down on him, and as he ran, he replayed memories of his time with Sunoo, clinging to the happy moments they had shared.

When he reached the front of the school, he saw a small crowd of students gathered around Sunoo. Sunoo was standing there, surrounded by friends, exchanging hugs and goodbyes. The sight of him, so close yet so far, made Niki's heart ache even more.Pushing through the crowd, Niki approached Sunoo. He saw Sunoo's face light up with a bittersweet smile as he noticed Niki.

"Sunoo hyung," Niki said, his voice trembling. "I... I didn't know you were leaving today. I thought I'd missed my chance to say goodbye."

Sunoo's smile faltered slightly, and he took a step toward Niki, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and relief. "Riki... I didn't want you to find out like this. I've been trying to respect your space, but... I'm really going to miss you."

Niki's tears finally spilled over, his emotions overwhelming him. "I miss you, Sunoo. I'm sorry for everything. I never wanted things to end like this."

Sunoo reached out and gently took Niki's hand. "I know. And I'm sorry too. I wish things could have been different. But please, don't think this changes how much I care about you. It's just for the better."

Niki squeezed Sunoo's hand, his eyes brimming with tears. "I understand, Sunoo. I really do. I just wish... I wish things hadn't turned out like this."

Sunoo nodded, his voice cracking slightly. "I wish that too. But sometimes we have to make tough choices for our own growth. I hope you know how much you mean to me, and how much I'll miss you."

They stood there, holding each other's hands, feeling the weight of their shared sadness. The finality of the moment was almost too much to bear, but they both knew it was a necessary step.

"Promise me you'll take care of yourself, Riki," Sunoo said softly, his eyes locked onto Niki's.

"And remember that I'll always be cheering you on from afar."

"I promise," Niki replied, his voice thick with emotion. "And you promise me the same."

"Of course," Sunoo said with a faint smile. "We'll get through this. And maybe, one day, we'll find our way back to each other."

With one last, lingering hug, they parted reluctantly. As Sunoo turned to board the bus, Niki watched him go, the bus slowly pulling away. He felt a profound sense of loss. He made his way to a quiet spot in the park near the school, sitting down on a bench and staring off into the distance. The absence of Sunoo felt like a void that would take time to fill.

Niki knew that this was part of the journey, but the pain of losing his friend—someone who had been a constant source of support—was almost too much to bear. He hoped that someday, they could reconnect and mend the bond that had been fractured by circumstances beyond their control.

As he sat there alone, the only company he had was his thoughts and memories of Sunoo, and he hoped that, in time, both of them would find a way to heal and move forward.
