Maharashtra, India. Here lives a man named Aarav. Aarav is DM(district magistrate) of Nashik in Maharashtra. Quite a powerful and perky job. Salary is good, perks are awesome but life is monotonous, bland and particularly stressful. He always wanted to be a civil servent and achieved that. When he was child he was acdemically good though not genius. He worked hard and brain was good so stood out higher in cut throat competition but not like child prodigy or something.

He always resented the fact that he isn't born genius. He knew the importance of hard work and he always succeeded so his ambition grew with the age. He wanted money and power very much. He wanted to be like cheabol controlling economy of country and power to make things done. His family was middle middle class so he had no access to good capital or contacts.

He tried entrepreneurship early but conditions in country wasn't that supportive. So, he set his sights on civil services examination to gain access to power as he neither has necessary conditions to be politician nor he had that skills to be in limelight. After working hard and passing examination, he became IAS. As time passes in his career, due to various things his ambition also died down and started fading away. His life became boring and monotonous. After some time, death of parents made things worse.

He never married as in his mind, marriage was an asset to capitalise on but as his ambitions getting faded and pain of death of his parents, his Idea to get married also faded away. As he entered in his 40s, his adventurous spirit was gone and seed of stability has sprouted in his heart to become lucious plant. During these times, he got into novels, web series and became humourous. He loved sitcoms eg. Friends, Big Bang theory, modern family etc.

One day on fine morning, he called his driver to get the car out of garage and he intended to go on long drive. After eating breakfast, he got into car and started heading towards Highway. On steep turn, suddenly an over speeding truck came in front of his car. He moved the steering to avoid head on collision but As he was on turn and turn was steep so he didn't see bike coming from behind the truck on the same side he moved his car to avoid collision.

When he stablized his car, he saw a bike coming towards him at very fast speed. This collision would not had been life threatening but out of reflex, he again moved his steering and car moved further sideways. But on steep turn, out of road was deep valley, so his side front wheel moved out of road and since car had speed; due to its momentum and inertia, whole car turned upside down in air out of road and above the deep valley. Car came straight down to valley at the acceleration of 9.8 m/s/s. He got crushed between his seat and car roof hitting ground and his head spilt open and spine broke completely.

Oil leaked and caught fire. He was in immense pain and his consciousness started to get blurred but he was still awake. Even at this point, he didn't loose his humorous side. He said: " Here I thought, have long drive and get some fresh air but NO, Truck-sama didn't agree. Well truck-sama wanted to hit me and I kinda wanted that too who knows I might meet ROB, get some wishes and got reincarnated like those novels. But NO, my damn head started to run and I moved steering like a fool. But thank you truck- sama you didn't abandon me...do you. You sent your assistant from behind to get the things done. But damn my reflexes, they interfered again. Finally valley is ending my boring life but I don't know if I got to be reincarnated or not?? Shit this hurts very bad."

While he was cursing, fire reached oil tank of car and suddenly exploded. Fire took over car and he died completely.

Aarav's pov:

I died in car accident. My life was boring, I had lost my goal in life. My adventurous spirit was gone, my loved ones had died long ago and no one was dependent on me. So, I am not sad or resented but not happy either. I mean, life was stable, people respected me. I was in powerful position where I can call shots but then again that was not the ending I wanted. I had my ambitions and goals but the way things were going in my life I knew that would not be possible even till my death. And yes it didn't happen till my death. After my death I came to this endless darkness where nothing is happening. No light, no sound, no senses.

I even can't feel myself but I knew I'm here, unusually fully conscious. I'm dead and I have no body and this is probably much rumoured afterlife. I never believed in god or religion so probably that is why no one came to attend my soul and I think I have left stranded. I don't know how long time has passed. It can be day or two or even many years. I once read in an novel that there was a guy died and was in same situation and they call this space void, i don't know why. He spent million years but he felt that he spent only around 2-3 days.

I don't know what may be the case with me. I was constantly blabbering and all of sudden I heard a voice: " O me! This is the first time I saw someone not bothered by its death at all and blabbering about nonsense for so long."

I refocused myself then I saw a white light in the form a person standing in front of me. I immediately asked: " so, you are god. What happened to me and how much time has passed?"

Voice said: " Really son!! you know yourself. Do you still want to hear from me and do you really care how much time has passed."

I giggled and said: " Right on point, God. So tell me what's going to happen next because I don't give a damn about what, how, why and all those things that had happened."

Voice said: " well you are forward looking and positive minded son. I was going to talk about those things and I have talked these things many time and I kinda don't like it. Your action has made me happy so I will grant you three wishes instead of one which I always give."

I said: " thank you very much god."

ROB said: " But before you ask let me roll this roulette to decide where are you going to be. Any particular interest?"

I said: " thank you once again God and I would prefer world of Sitcom which I have seen in my previous life." 

ROB rolled the roulette and after spinning ended it pointed at Modern family universe.

ROB said: " Well it's pretty chill world. So ask and you know the rules for these kind of World, you are smart so don't make me to tell you."

I said: " Thank you yet again god. I know what things to not ask for. My first wish....
