"Hey, hey, take it easy." A woman's voice says as I shoot up. She gently pushes me back down on the bed.

I see Mary, the lady who had helped Brenda.

"Glad to see you're awake." She smiles at me.

"I... what happened?" I ask quietly.

"You passed out. I'm thinking from sleep deprivation. Maybe stress on top of that." She says, moving some items across the medical table.

I sit up on the bed, swinging my feet over the side.

"How long was it since you last slept?" She asks me.

I sarcastically smile, "Less than five minutes ago."

She rolls her eyes, "Still sarcastic as ever, I see. I mean, how long until you willingly went to sleep."

I hesitate, "I.. I don't really know. I slept, but it wasn't much.. I can't sleep." I shake my head, "Nightmares.. it's.. not great."

She frowns at me, "Y/n, you have to sleep. You could get yourself killed."

"I'm not dead yet." I stand up from the bed, wincing slightly, and limp forward.

"But you could be. How long have you been infected?" Her words cause me to stop in my tracks.

I glance at her, "Uhm.. it was Greiver, in the maze. I was given a cure, but it didn't last for long. Now it just.. fluctuates, not getting worse, but not getting better." I shrug.

"We can try to cure you." She says, but I shake my head, "If it kills me, it kills me."

And without another word, I limp out of the tent. It got darker outside. How long was I out of it?

"I'm glad to see you're back on your feet." Teresa says from behind me.

I groan quietly, limping forward, "What now?" I ask.

"You collapsed in front of me, I was worried. Is that not allowed?" She asks, and I can hear her following me.

I shake my head, "No, it's not."

I keep walking. And apparently, she keeps following. I walk away, to a more secluded area.

"Could you stop-" I start to say, before her hand is on my shoulder. She forces me to turn around.

I glare at her, "What the fuck, Teresa. Can't you tell that I want nothing to do with you!"

"Y/n, I've told you before. I didn't kiss him!" She yells, "I didn't. But you wouldn't believe me."

I stare at her, finally letting her words sink in. I quickly shake my head, "I don't care. You let my brother die. You let him get stung. You didn't even try to stop me from leaving."

"I'm sorry, Y/n.. really.." She whispers quietly.

"Sorry for what?" I ask, irritated beyond belief.

"For everything.. past, present and future.." She mutters.

I tilt my head in confusion.

"I- .. I'm hoping you'll understand.." She sighs.

"Understand what?" I snap, feeling a presence behind us. I glance over to see Thomas, and glare at him.

"Why I did it.." Teresa continues.

Behind her, I see lights. The sound of helicopters whirring fills the air. She looks behind her, and Thomas does as well.

"Teresa-" Thomas goes to speak, but I cut him off.

"What the hell, Teresa!" I yell, looking at Thomas.

"Go, warn the others! You'll make it before I can!" I scream.

He hesitates, before bolting away, gone within seconds.

I stare at Teresa, "What the hell have you done..."

"Y/n, I'm sorry.." She whispers again.

I jump at the sound of explosions. I go to run, but she grabs my arm, pulling me back into her.

I struggle to get out of her grip. "Let me go!" I scream.

I manage to grab ahold of her upper arm, throwing her over my shoulder. She grunts, and I take my leave.

..

"BRENDA!" I scream, limp-running into the mess of explosions and gunfire. And fire. Very real fire.

My heart drops as I stare at the tent she was in, on fire.

"Y/n!" Thomas yells, staring at me, "She's-"

"Y/n, you dumbass!" I hear a voice behind me. We both jump, turning around.

Brenda grabs me, pulling me in for a quick kiss.

"Come on, hurry!" She yells. Quickly, we rush off.

"We have to help them!" Thomas yells over the loud noises erupting around us.

"We have to go, now! There is no chance!" Jorge yells, grabbing Thomas as he attempts to bolt off.

"Look, we can't help them!" Jorge looks over at our friends, defending a truck. Something explodes, and they all fall to the ground, electrocuted.

Men move forward, covering their position.

The helicopters land. Jorge and Brenda ran off after Thomas refused to go. And honestly, I don't want to see my friends dead, so I stayed behind, despite how much it hurt.

"Is this all of them?" Ava Paige, a blonde woman who I recognize, asks.

Janson nods, "Most of them. But it'll be enough." He says.

My friends, and strangers I barely knew, all lined up as if it were an execution. Soldiers begin grabbing people.

Thomas got himself captured. What a fucking dumbass.

Ava Paige waves her fingers, and a soldier forces Thomas to his feet.

"Hello, Thomas." She greets. I glare as I see a soldier escorting Teresa over.

Ava Paige nods at Teresa, "I'm glad you're safe."

"What the hell.. what.. whats going on?" Frypan asks.

Thomas gulps, "She's with them..."

"Since when..." Newt mutters, quietly.

"Since always. Teresa's always had an interest in the greater good. We restored her memories, and it was only a matter of time." Janson hums, patting her shoulder.

Teresa stares at them, searching for me, "I'm sorry.. it was the only way."

Without thinking, I stand from my hiding spot, quickly bolting over, "It wasn't the only way!" I seeth.

Ava and Janson stare at me. The rest of the group don't seem surprised. Teresa sheds a tear.

"Y/n, we have to find a cure! Please, don't hate me. Trust me." She pleads with me.

"Anymore than I already do? I didn't trust you before. And now? I'll make sure you're dead." I spit.

Janson chuckles, "I've heard those words before. Hello, Y/n. Wonderful seeing you here."

I glare at him, "I'll have a bullet in your brain too, just watch."

I zone out from their conversation, more focused on watching Teresa than anything else.

Suddenly, soldiers siege us. They grab Thomas and I, forcing us forward, towards the large helimacopter.

He throws his soldier off, "Get back!"

He pulls a bomb out, and a detonator.

"Everyone stand back!" Thomas yells. I quickly throw the soldier off of me, pulling out my pistol.

"Let them go! Let them all go!" Thomas screams.

Ava panics a little, "You know I can't do that!"

"Y/n, Thomas! Please stop!" Teresa cries out, shoving past Ava.

I aim my pistol at her, "Take another step and all Ava will have is your blood on her hands.."

Minho and the others slowly parade behind us as Thomas, Ava, Janson and Teresa conversate.

"We're with you Thomas, Y/n." Newt reassures us.

"Do it, Thomas.. do it!" Minho yells.

Thomas hesitates, his hands shaking. Everyone around us panics, pleading for him not to.

We all turn at the sound of a loud truck accelerating, and obnoxiously honking its horn. I smirk to myself... Jorge.

He knocks a helicopter over with the truck. Thomas blows up a group of soldiers, but I barely made it away. Everything faded out as I scream in pain.

...

It's almost like a frenzy going on around us. Some people are snagged up, others aren't. Soldiers grab ahold of Minho, dragging him backwards into the helicopter.

I stare back, seeing Brenda searching for me. I see Newt helping her. The others are pushing the soldiers back.

I feel something grab me by the arms, "Let- me- go!" I scream.

Everyone looks over, as I get dragged back. But I can't get out. I stare down at my legs. Shrapnel sticks out of one.

Why is it that everything attacks that leg? What the hell.

"MINHOO!" Thomas screams, as Jorge pulls him back.

"Y/NNN!" Brenda screams next, and Frypan pulls her back, keeping her from running to me.

I feel a tear fall down my face as I'm forced up onto the helicopter. Instead of tying me up, however, they lie me down on the floor, knowing I can't go far.

The helicopter doors shut, as everything.. goes.. black.

//WHOOSH BISHES. THAT HAPPENED. UH-OH. Well, guess what. Next chapter starts death cure :D. Kinda sad tbh but oh well! I literally wanna die cause I hate the events of death cure so much. Theres this one song I have a love-hate relationship with solely because it reminds me of death cure. .-.//
