Prologue

M Y  S O U L . . . . ?  

Flowey has told me what Chara's goals are. I've already lost count of how many runs I've done, all the times I've reset. Every time I fight Sans he always manages to break through to me. Giving me a short time of control, an opportunity to reset.  She always comes back though. She gets control and makes me kill them all over again. Sans is the only one who can break through to me. He gives me determination. He saves me every time, even if it's just for a second he free's me. It's not enough though, I need to stop her for good. I need his help to do so......

Judgement hall once again. I've been in this beautiful corridor too many times now. The elegant stained glass windows remind me of a church, but after all the the pain I've experienced here and knowing what comes next if I let Chara reach her goal it feels more like the passage to hell.

I walk forward until I reached Sans. He stands in his usual stance with his hands inside his blue hoodie. I want nothing more than to just run in his arms and hug the big boned skeleton. Cry like a small child and have him hold telling me It'll all be okay. But he won't and it won't, not until I stop Chara. Sans just fills me with determination.

Sans begins his little speech as usual.

"Heya. You've been busy, huh? ... So I've got a question for ya. Do you think even the worst person can change...? That everyone can be a good person, if they just try?"

My body didn't move forward this time... Right now I actually have control..

"Yes!" I yelled at him and took a step forward out of my own free will.

Sans pupils disappear leaving only his hollow eye sockets.

"Actually talking this time? Interesting, heh heh heh heh... Alright. Well, here's a better question. Do you wanna have a bad time? Cause if you take another step forward..."

"I'm really NOT gonna like what happens next."

I finished his sentence for him. I just need to warn him, I have a plan to fix all of this. I need Sans for it though.

"Welp, you know your stuff. Let's skip to it then." Sans replies.

The room goes dark and my soul glows bright red inside my chest. No not this again, I don't want to fight. I just need to warn him before I reset. I need him to understand, I need his help. .

"Sans it's me, (Y/n) this time. I know what she want's now and I need your help to stop this sick repeating route that were stuck on. Every timeline you just warn me, watch me, judge me, then kill me. That's not going to be enough to stop her. To stop Chara I need you to act, to do more than be a bystander. "

He gives me a stern but confused look. If he had eyebrows one would probably be raised right now. The lights in his eyes return now that he realizes it's the real me.

"It's my job to sit back and watch, to judge. I made a promise and you keep on making me break it. Making me more and more miserable each reset, each timeline worse than the last. What more can you possibly want from me, (Y/n)."

He was exhausted, having to kill me every time only for me to reset and kill everyone all over again. The pain I've caused him must be unbearable. I hate myself, I want to die for real this time.

No, it's not my fault. I hate Chara. This is all her fault.

She's the ones who's doing this. I didn't kill my friends she did. I've only killed one monster out of my own free will, and never again will I kill another.

"Sans listen to me I need you to act earlier, don't sit back and watch me. Be with me from the beginning, and if you see a sign. You see me kill even one monster, kill me without hesitation." I said as tears started falling from my eyes.

I hope asking him for this isn't too much. But I need him if i have any chance of stopping Chara from destroying this world. Maybe with him by my side from the start I can keep her from controlling me.

"But.. The rules" Sans said. The light in his eyes dimmed a bit, he was thinking about his options.

"Forget about your silly rules. Save everyone this time. Save me please! I'm trapped inside my own body without any control. Help me." I begged him.

I pulled out my knife and pointed it at him but it wasn't my decision to do so.

"NO!  This isn't me I promise. Sans, Chara is gaining control again! Kill me now. I have to reset!" I shouted at him.

Blue liquid started falling from his eye sockets and his left eye glowed blue. He was crying as he lifted his hand and slammed me against a pillar. I felt my bones break on impact. Two bones flew towards me and stabbed me right in my clavicle keeping me up on the pillar. I screamed from the pain. My bones ache and my skin burned where the two bones were penetrating my body. Sans voice was shaking when he spoke he sounded as if he was holding back a sob.

"You know hurting you like this over and over again is really breaking my bones. Because the truth is since the first timeline..  (Y/n), I love you."  Just as Sans confesses to me for the first time out of all our timelines a Gaster Blaster appears over him facing me.

It was getting harder to push Chara out. I felt myself losing control over my body once again.

"The flower patch in the ruins... You can find me there." I said with my teeth gritting.

I was in so much pain. I could feel Chara taking control. I can't hold her back for much longer..

"  P l e a s e  k i l l  m e  n o w ...! "

"I'll save you." Sans said as he prepared his next attack.

The Gaster Blaster opens its mouth. I saw the white light and there was a loud ringing in my ears as my life ended.

"I love you Sans...."

RESET
