Bruce was back at Stanley's diner. He was in the spare room Stanley had given him, packing his bags and preparing to leave. Once he was done, he turned the lamps off and left the room.
Meanwhile, Stanley had heard someone enter the diner. He came out of the kitchen and informed them that they were closed.
"Oh, come on, Stan. It's Friday night." A girl said.
Upon hearing the voice, Stanley looked up and saw that it was Betty and Leonard.
(0:40:08 - 0:40:28)
"Betty." Uraraka said.
"She might end up seeing Banner if he isn't careful." Shoji said.
"I kinda hope she does see him." Mina said.
"Oh, kids. I got nothing but marinara now." Stanley said.
"Oh, I got to have a Mister Pink, please." Betty said.
"She worked through dinner again, of course." Leonard explained.
Stanley was hesitant for obvious reasons. He glanced at the kitchen door, unsure if he should allow Betty to stay. In the end, he just couldn't say no. He agreed to serve them some food.
Bruce entered the kitchen looking for Stanley. He overheard the voices of two individuals on the other side of the kitchen door and went to investigate.
The voices Bruce heard were Betty and Leonard. Leonard was telling Betty a story. As Betty listened to the story, she saw the kitchen door open in the corner of her eye. When she looked at the door, she saw Bruce standing there. The two had made eye contact before Bruce quickly turned around and left.
(0:40:28 - 0:41:06)
"She saw him!" Toru gasped.
"Now she has to stop him from getting away!" La Brava said.
"You guys really want them back together, huh?" Tsu asked.
"As nice as it would be to see them rekindle the flame, it really is best that he remains out of her life." Midnight said. "Especially when she's already moved on."
Betty, no longer paying attention to Leonard's story, got out of her seat and walked towards the kitchen.
After going through the kitchen, she made her way outside to the back alley. The sound of distant thunder could be heard as Betty looked around. But there was no sign of Bruce.
"Bruce?" Betty whispered, unsure of if what she saw was even real.
Bruce was then shown, hiding behind a dumpster. He had a pained look on his face.
Leonard came outside to check on Betty. He asked her what was going on. She didn't respond and instead went back inside to question Stanley.
(0:41:06 - 0:41:50)
The audience once again felt bad for Bruce. It clearly hurt him, having to hide from Betty. No doubt every part of him wanted to speak to her one last time. At least say goodbye to her before he leaves. After all, he'll be on the run for the rest of his life. This was likely the last time he would see her. Which only made his decision to remain hidden hurt even more.
"Come on... He's right there..." Toru said.
"She was so close... Why does he keep hiding from her?!" Mina asked.
"Because he believes he should." Kurogiri said. "He likely feels that re-entering her life would simply put her in danger. He is trying to protect her."
"But this is his last chance. He should still talk to her, even if it's the wrong thing to do..." Toga frowned.
Back in the diner, Betty approached Stanley.
"Betty..." Stanley began before Betty stopped him.
"Just tell me if I saw what I think I saw." Betty said.
"I don't know what to say." Stanley said.
"Please, just tell me the truth." Betty begged.
Stanley stared at Betty for a moment before taking a deep breath. He knew what he had to say.
(0:41:50 - 0:42:08)
"Yeah! Regardless of what anyone says, she deserves to know the truth." Mina said.
Bruce was walking in the rain. Whenever a car would drive by, he'd give them a thumbs up; indicating that he was fine and didn't need a ride.
However, a car did eventually stop right behind him. He also stopped in his tracks upon noticing this.
The driver of the car was revealed to be Betty. She immediately got out the car and Banner turned around to look at her. The two stared at each other in disbelief. Was this real? Where they really standing in front of each other? After all these years?
(0:42:08 - 0:42:38)
"She found him!" Toru smiled.
"Yes!" Mina said.
"Not that surprising. He wouldn't have been able to get very far on foot." Aizawa said.
Bruce and Betty then ran up to each other and embraced.
As the two stood there, holding each other, Betty looked Bruce in the eyes and begged him to come with her. She didn't want to lose him. Not again.
(0:42:38 - 0:43:11)
"Awwww." The girls smiled.
"Reuniting with a long lost love in the middle of the rain. So romantic." La Brava smiled, tears in her eyes.
Betty was then shown driving home. Once she reached her destination, Bruce sat up in the passenger seat, revealing that he was with her and was likely lying down to remain hidden.
(0:43:11 - 0:43:28)
"At least now Banner doesn't have to stay in the rain." Kaminari said.
"But Betty could get in trouble for this. She's housing a fugitive." Jiro said.
"Maybe Ross will let her off the hook. I mean, she is his daughter after all." Kirishima said.
Now inside the house, Betty closed all the curtains to keep Bruce hidden.
Betty then sat in front of Bruce and handed him a small container. He opened it and found a flash drive inside.
Betty explained that the drive had the data Bruce needed and that she managed to get it before the government wiped the servers clean.
(0:43:28 - 0:43:40)
The audience was surprised by this.
"She has the data?!" Uraraka shouted.
"Then it isn't over. Banner can still find a cure." Inko said.
"It's a good thing she found him after all." Izuku said.
Most of the audience was happy for Bruce. He had hope again. He now has a real chance at finding a cure for his condition. It was nice to see that his luck was finally starting to turn around.
Bruce let out a sigh of relief. There was still a chance. Things might actually work out this time.
Bruce asked Betty if Ross knows she has the data. Betty stated that she doesn't think so, explaining that she hasn't spoken to him in a couple of years. That wasn't good enough for Bruce. He needed her to be certain.
"Bruce, I don't understand why we can't just go in there together and talk to him." Betty said.
(0:43:40 - 0:44:02)
Some of the villains chuckled at Betty's statement.
"Does she seriously think that would work?" Shigaraki said.
"It could work." Kaminari said.
"Only an idiot would think that, Sparky." Bakugo said.
"Ross would arrest Banner immediately. Talking would be a waste of time." Aizawa said.
"He told me what he wanted to do. He wants it out of me. He wants to dissect it so that he can replicate it. He wants to make it a weapon." Bruce explained to Betty.
(0:44:02 - 0:44:12)
"Guess you were right, Kurogiri." Shigaraki said.
"It wasn't difficult to figure out, given the what Ross told Blonsky." Kurogiri said.
"And yet the heroes still defend him." Toga said.
"What Ross wants to do is a bad idea, without a doubt. But between him and Mr. Blue, Ross is the better option." Nighteye said.
"We don't know if Mr. Blue can be trusted. What if he tries to weaponize Banner's Quirk as well?" Iida questioned. "At the very least, we can trust that Ross will use Banner's Quirk to protect people."
"So because Ross has good intentions, he gets a pass?" Trixter shook his head. "My friends, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Does anybody remember Overhaul, hmm? The horrible bastard who is willing to tear a child apart and then put her back together over and over again just so he can weaponize her Quirk. Does anyone remember that?"
The audience became silent.
"Do you know why he wants to do that? It's all for his adoptive father. The former leader of the Shie Hassaikai." Trixter began. "You see, ever since heroes became a thing in your world, the Shie Hassakai have fallen from their position of power in society, much like all other Yakuza groups. Overhaul believes he owes everything to the Shie Hassaikai for taking him in and raising him. He wants to return the Shie Hassaikai to their former glory to repay them. Sounds very noble, doesn't it? He just wants to repay the man who essentially saved him by giving him a home. Such good intentions. Sounds like Ross to me."
"You can't compare someone like Overhaul to someone like Ross." Midnight said.
"And why's that?" Trixter asked.
"Because Ross would never do something as inhumane as what Overhaul did to Eri. Ross is a soldier, not a villain." Midnight explained.
"Like that matters." Shigaraki rolled his eyes.
"Have you ever wondered if maybe you have too much faith in the government?" Trixter asked.
"The government just wants to help everyone. Heroes are proof of that." Thirteen said.
Trixter chuckled a little. "We'll see if you can continue saying that later."
The audience was confused. What was that supposed to mean?
"Anyway, let's continue." Trixter said.
Ross was then shown standing in front of some sort of vault. He typed in a code on the keypad before entering.
As he walked through the room, he approached a specific container. He unlocked and opened the container and took out a vial containing a blue serum.
(0:44:12 - 0:44:57)
The audience was curious as to what Ross was doing. A few did have an idea. Once everyone saw the serum, they realized what was going on.
"That must be the Super Soldier Serum." Izuku said.
"Looks like Blonsky really is going to get a Quirk, if things go well." Melissa said.
Back at Betty and Leonard's place, Bruce was shown getting ready for bed. He walked out of the room and nearly bumped into Betty, who was bringing him some blankets and a razor in case he wanted to shave.
"Listen, I should leave early, as early as I can." Bruce said.
"Really? You can't stay at all?" Betty asked, clearly disappointed at the prospect that Bruce is leaving.
"I want to, but it's just not safe for me to be here." Bruce explained.
Betty simply nodded, knowing that Bruce was probably right, but unwilling to admit it with her own mouth.
(0:44:57 - 0:45:23)
"True. Elizabeth is to close to Ross for Banner to be safe around her. Ross might even have her under surveillance in case Banner ever reached out to her." Spinner said.
"So he's risking a lot by simply being near her." Shoji said.
"He could also mean that it isn't safe for her. He's probably afraid of hurting her like when he first got his Quirk." Izuku said.
Izuku found Banner very interesting. He never new having powers could be so... terrible. He always thought that if he had a Quirk, his life would be a million times better. But what if he was like Banner. What if he had a Quirk just as horrible. His life might actually have been worse if that were the case. Perhaps powers aren't as perfect as he thought they were.
Bruce reluctantly asked if he could borrow some cash, explaining that he would need to take a bus.
Betty agreed without hesitation and only asked that he let her walk him to the station, to which he agrees, all be it hesitantly.
The two then stood there, awkwardly staring at each other.
Betty decided to break the silence. "You have everything you need?" She asked.
"Yeah." Bruce answered.
The two once again stood there in silence. It was clear that they both had more to say. They just weren't willing to say it or didn't know how to.
And so they simply said goodnight to each other and parted ways.
(0:45:23 - 0:46:06)
"Even though they're right in front of each other, they still feel so distant." La Brava said.
Gentle understood Banner's reluctance to get close to Elizabeth again. Banner doesn't want to rope Elizabeth in to his problems. It reminded Gentle of how he was also hesitant to allow La Brava to help him with his crimes. But letting La Brava into his life was the best decision he ever made. Perhaps Banner should allow Elizabeth to help as much as she wants. It could be good for him.
Betty was shown lying in bed, staring at the ceiling. The screen then cut to Bruce, who was doing the same. As the screen continued to slowly cut back and forth between the two, it was clear that Betty was extremely restless while Bruce was contemplating something.
Betty was likely struggling to accept the fact that Bruce had to leave. Bruce, however, was likely trying to prepare himself for the future; planning his next course of action.
Eventually, the two managed to fall asleep.
(0:46:06 - 0:46:33)
"Now they really feel distant." Uraraka said.
"Well, yeah. They're in completely different rooms." Mineta said.
"No, not like that. This scene makes them feel more distant than before." Jiro said.
"Mmmm. I don't see it." Mineta said.
Meanwhile, Ross was in a sort of operating room with two doctors. A shirtless Blonsky entered the room.
Ross explained that Blonsky would be given a very low dose of the Super Soldier Serum, and that if there are any side effects, Blonsky will be taken off the team until he "straightens out".
Blonsky agreed to these terms.
(0:46:33 - 0:46:52)
"Starting with a low dose is a good idea considering how experimental this serum sounds." Power Loader said.
"At least they're being cautious. Hopefully things will go smoothly." Mic said.
"Even if this works, will it be enough to beat Banner?" Todoroki wondered.
"It's hard to say. We've seen how powerful and devastating Banner's Quirk is, but we have no idea what this Super Soldier Serum can do." Momo said.
"We'll just have to wait and see." Sato said.
One of the doctors (Milgrom) began explaining the procedure to Blonsky.
"You'll get two separate infusions. One into the deep muscle, one into the bone marrow centers. The bone ones are going to hurt." Milgrom explained.
(0:46:52 - 0:47:04)
"An injection directly into your bones?" Aoyama cringed at the thought.
"That sounds horrible." Uraraka said.
Blonsky was then seated as the two doctors injected a dose of the serum into both the right and left side of his neck. Blonsky had a slight reaction to the injections, but he was clearly able to tolerate the pain.
Blonsky was then strapped to a sort of stretcher, and was then turned over so that he was facing the floor. The stretcher had a whole in the back which the doctors used to inject the last dose of the serum into Blonsky's spine.
As warned, this injection was far more painful, and Blonsky's face showed it. A loud pop was heard, and Blonsky began to breath a little, calming down.
(0:47:04 - 0:47:33)
The audience cringed as they watched the scene.
Eri was scared by this scene. She didn't like seeing all these needles being stabbed into someone while they're strapped down. She did her best to hide her fear though. She didn't want anyone worrying about her.
It was the next day. Bruce and Betty were now at the Culver University campus.
Bruce, now shaved, was checking his surroundings cautiously. Betty noticed this and asked if everything was okay. After a moment of hesitation, Bruce responded "I think so."
(0:47:33 - 0:47:57)
"It never hurts to remain vigilant." Kurogiri said.
"I don't think I could stand being so paranoid all the time." Ojiro said.
"It comes with the territory." Compress said.
Bruce and Betty began walking across the school campus, making their way towards the bus stop. A storm could be seen approaching.
Betty stopped Bruce and untucked his shirt, saying it was better like that. Then she took off his hat and adjusted his hair a little.
(0:47:57 - 0:48:24)
The audience didn't say much about this moment, though they did find it sweet that Betty was so caring towards Banner. It's clear she doesn't blame him for what happened to her during the first incident.
As Bruce looked at Betty for a moment, he noticed a soldier in the background. As he looked around, he noticed other soldiers approaching.
(0:48:24 - 0:48:32)
"They found him." Izuku said, unsure of if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
"Why can't they just leave him alone?" Toga growled.
"They really should. Any confrontation could lead to him transforming again." Gentle said.
"And that would be bad for everyone." La Brava added.
"It is dangerous to confront Banner, but it's also dangerous to let him roam freely. The military is obligated to capture him, regardless of the risks." Nighteye said.
"They might even have a real chance now, if that Super Soldier thing worked." Kaminari said.
"It'll be fine. They're doomed." Twice said.
"Betty, look at me, look at me! You have to go as far away from me as you can! Don't argue with me, just go. Go!" Bruce quickly told Betty before running off.
"Bruce!" Betty called out to him.
