Marissa and I found a nice place in a hotel. It was nice, but no internet. At least I had a laptop when I was at Marissa's. Not anymore. Marissa told my mother that I was having some kind of party with a supposed child that she didn't even have. My mother was on my back every single minute of every single hour. I was living at the hotel for a week, constantly texting my mom, saying that I was alright and that I was being cared for very well. I sort of was, despite the fact that I guy that I liked was dead because of me. Each day my guilt built up. What kind of person would kill their boyfriend? I mean, I knew I wasn't the one behind the gun, but if I wasn't so stupid, Brian wouldn't be dead right now! I cried for a few days, but after that life slowly returned back to normal, with the exception of him. Him. Oh, how I missed him.
One day, while I was dazing off on the couch, I felt my phone vibrate furiously. For the past few days, no one had texted me, so who could this possibly be?
I opened my phone and clicked on my messages. It said: Meet me at HQ. - B
B? Having no friends whatsoever, I was certain that the only person who I knew whose named started with a B was Brian's.
What the heck? I thought he was dead!
It took me about ten minutes of hyperventilating, three slaps to the face, and six pinches to my arm to fully realize that this was no dream. I was all but certain that I was not hallucinating because my slaps stung.
What does HQ even mean?
The agency. But how did he know where the head quarters was? Then it hit me. I had taken him there to be questioned when I first rescued him.
Girl, you need Jesus.
Wait, a pea-picking minute. Brian was alive! I should have been abnormally ecstatic! I skipped over and giddily told Marissa that Brian was indeed alive, but she gave me a suspecting look. Believe me, it wasn't the reaction I was hoping for.
"Didn't Brian die?" she asked hesitantly.
"Yes, but he's alive now. See? See? See?" I shoved my phone in her face, excitedly. She took one step back.
"There's something called personal space. And frankly I don't have a good feeling about this," she warned me. Her brows were furrowed in confusion, but frankly I couldn't have cared less.
"But it's Brian! See, that "B" stands for Brian!" I replied like an idiot.
"I think it's just a little suspicious how just wakes up from the dead," Marissa replied. I wasn't thinking straight because my mind was overwhelmed by the text. I was just far too eager to see Brian.
"But the text was sent from his phone! See, I even have him in my contacts, so I know that's his number!" I once again shoved the phone all up in Marissa's business. She sighed deeply and began to rub her temples in concentration.
"Pleaseeeee!" I begged Marissa. Of course, she gave in.
"Fine, but make sure you have your cell on you at all times. I have to stay put and do some things for the agency," she said seriously.
I was grinning like a psychotic woman. I was just so happy that Brian was alive! I clapped my hands furiously and immediately zipped to my room. I dressed up and tied my hair in a loose pony tail. Then I was off to reunite with Brian. My Brian.
