"What's gonna happen to your friends?" Bucky asked after a while of flying in silence.

Steve licked his lips before sighing. "Whatever it is, I'll deal with it."

"I don't know if I'm worth all of this to you."

"What you did all those years, it wasn't you. You didn't have a choice."

Steve landed the Quinjet and helped Bucky find the arselon and they both picked out their weapons.

"You remember that time we had to ride home from Rockaway Beach in the back of that freezer truck?" Steve asked as he hit the button for the ramp to go down.

"Was that the time we used our train money to buy hot dogs?"

"You blew three bucks trying to win that stuffed bear for a redhead."

Bucky chuckled. "What was her name again?"

"Dolores, But you called her Dot."

"She's gotta be a hundred years old right now," Bucky shook his head.

"So are we, pal," Steve put his hand on his shoulder.

They walked over to the bunker to find the doors already open.

"He can't have been here more than a few hours," Steve said.

"Long enough to wake them up," Bucky told them. They walked inside and got into the ancient elevator getting their weapons ready as the doors opened. Bucky went first then Steve.

Bucky started to walk up a flight of stairs that would lead to where the Winter Soldier capsules were held when they heard a noise. They all spun around and Steve put his shield up while Bucky raised his guns.

"Ready?" Steve asked.

"Yeah," Bucky said. The elevator doors slowly opened again to reveal Tony in his Iron Man suit. Steve slowly stood and started walking closer as Tony did the same, his mask coming down.

"You seem a little defensive," he broke the silence.

"It's been a long day," Steve said.

"At ease, soldier," Tony said, looking at Bucky who still had his gun trained on Tony. "I'm not currently after you."

"Then why are you here?"

"Could be your story's not so crazy. Maybe," he conceded. "Ross has no idea I'm here, I'd like to keep it that way."

"That sounds like a lot of paperwork," Steve said, slowly lowering his shield. "It's good to see you, Tony."

"You too, Cap." They nodded at each other before Tony looked back at Bucky and scoffed. "Hey, Manchurian Candidate, you're killing me. There's a truce here. You can drop-"

Tony went in front, holding up his hand. "I got heat signatures," he reported.

"How many?"

"Uh, one," he told Steve as they cautiously walked in. The lights in the Winter Soldier capsules turned on, a yellow glow filled the room.

"If it's any comfort," Zemo's voice filled the room, "they died in their sleep." They continued walking through the room, staying on the lookout while glancing into the pods to find that all the soldiers had been shot. "Do you really think I wanted more of you?"

"What the hell?" Bucky let out.

"I'm grateful to them though. They brought you here." Another light turned on and Steve chucked his shield, but it only bounced back at him. "Please, Captain. The Soviets built this chamber to withstand the launch blast of UR-100 rockets."

"I'm betting I could beat that."

"Oh, I'm sure you could, Mr. Stark. Given time. But then you'd never know why you came."

"You killed innocent people in Vienna just to bring us here?" Steve asked as he walked over to the window where he could stare Zemo in the eyes.

"I've thought about nothing else for over a year. I studied you. I followed you. But now that you're standing here, I just realized, there's a bit of green in the blue of your eyes." He chuckled. "How nice to find a flaw."

"You're Sokovian," he put together the timing and accent. "Is that what this is about?'

"Sokovia was a failed state long before you blew it to hell," he shook his head. "No. I'm here because I made a promise."

"You lost someone?" Steve asked, but it was more of a statement.

"I lost everyone."

He swallowed before nodding. "Yes. And so will you."

They turned as they heard a click to see a black and white recording playing on an old fashioned tv in the room. "An empire toppled by its enemies can rise again, but one which crumbles from within, that's dead. Forever."

"I know that road," Tony let out as he stared at the screen. "What is this?" he called over, but his eyes didn't leave the screen. Suddenly, a car crashed, running into a tree. A moment later, a motorcycle showed up. Steve looked over at Tony and Bucky looked down at the ground.

The Winter Soldier grabbed the five blue IV bags out of the trunk before walking over to the driver's side as Howard pulled himself out of the car.

"Help my wife. Please. Help," he muttered as blood dripped down his forehead. He pulled him up by the hair. "Sergeant Barnes," he let out in shock.

"Howard," Maria's voice came from inside the car. The Winter Soldier punched Howard in the face a couple times until he went limp. "Howard." He picked up Howard's body and laid it back in the car before going over to the passenger side and sliding his metal hand around Maria's throat. He choked her until her body went slack. Last, he went over to the security camera taping him, raising his gun and shooting it.

Tony stared at the screen before moving to charge at Bucky. Steve caught his arm.

"Tony," Steve stopped him.

"Did you know?"

"I didn't know it was him," he decided to say.

"Don't bullshit me, Rogers. Did you know?"

"Yes." Tony pulled away from Steve, standing there in shock for a moment before backhanding Steve and sending him flying.

Steve, Tony, and Bucky fought while Zemo disappeared. There was suddenly an explosion from aboveas Bucky redirected one of Tony's rockets. Steve ran over, metal walls started falling apart. Steve looked up to see Tony fighting his way out from under some metal and Bucky standing up.

"Get out of here," he told him.

"It wasn't him, Tony," Steve pleading as Bucky started jumping from platform to platform that lined the walls of the silo. "Hydra had control of his mind."

"Move!"

"It wasn't him!"

Tony started flying towards Bucky . His suit was damaged and he wasn't able to fly straight, but he managed to reach Bucky and kick him off of the platform he was pulling himself onto. Just as he shot at him, Steve jumped up and redirected the blast with his shield, hitting Tony instead, making the man fall ofc.

"He's not gonna stop," Steve told him "You've gotta go."

Bucky kept working his way to the top while Steve grabbed his grappling hook and jumped down, catching Tony and dragging him down enough for Bucky to reach the top.

Just as Bucky were about to make it out, Tony shot one of his rockets, hitting the hitch for the silo roof and causing it to come slamming down on him. Bucky dropped. He groaned, grabbing a metal pipe that had fallen near him and swinging it at Tony as he flew up to him. Tony eventually able to put Bucky in a chokehold.

"Do you even remember them?" Tony whispered venomously.

"I remember all of them."

Tony pulled Bucky over the side and they fell down the center of the silo. Steve jumped, intercepting them and managing to get Bucky onto a platform before he and Tony fell to the very bottom.

"This isn't gonna change what happened."

"I don't care," Tony told him flatly. "He killed my mom."

"Stay down," Tony told her before going to attack Steve.

Bucky jumped down the with Steve's shield in his hands. He jumped onto Tony's back and started pummeling him.

Steve and Bucky working back and forth to try to fend off Tony. Bucky managed to get the upper hand, thrusting his hand into Tony's suit and attempting to pull out the arc reactor. There was a bright blast and Bucky's body was thrown across the room, most of his metal arm missing. Steve ran forwards, holding his shield up while Tony blasted at him, creating a brilliant light that flooded the silo. Steve and Tony still attempting to tear each other apart. Finally, Steve ended up on his knees, blocking Bucky's unconscious body.

"He's my friend."

"So was I."

Tony said sadly before punching Steve in the face over and over. He picked up Steve and tossed him into one of the concrete pillars. "Stay down. Final warning."

Steve slowly picked himself back up, panting raising his fists. "I can do this all day." Tony raised his hand, charging for another blast when Bucky's hand shot out and grabbed Tony's ankle. This gave Steve time to come over and pick up Tony before slamming him on the ground and punching his mask over and over until he grabbed his shield and was able to knock it off. He raised his shield one last time and Tony covered his face before the shield lodged itself in the suit's reactor. After a minute, Steve pulled the shield out and went over to Bucky, pulling him up.

"That shield doesn't belong to you," Tony said as he rolled onto his side. "You don't deserve it. My father made that shield." Steve stopped, pausing before dropping the shield onto the ground and leaving Tony behind and they left the bunker.
