Tony flew the Quinjet as the rest of the team attended to Clint as best as they could. They got him stable and relaxed. Bruce sat in the corner, listening to music and wrapped in a blanket before Natasha went and sat with him as Steve and Thor prepared the mission report.

"Thor, report on the Hulk," Natasha requested, turning to look at him.

"The gates of Hell are filled with the screams of his victims." Bruce groaned, putting his head in his hands as Natasha gave him a look. "But not the screams of the dead, of course," Thor tried to fix what he said. "No, no. Uh, wounded screams. Mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining, and tales of sprained deltoids and gout."

"Hey, Banner," Tony called from the front of the jet, "Dr. Cho is on her way in from Seoul. Is it okay if she sets up in your lab?"

"Uh, yeah. She knows her way around."

"Thanks." He went back to speaking to Jarvis so everything would be ready by the time they landed. He put the jet on autopilot and walked back to where Steve and Thor looked at Loki's scepter. "Feels good, yeah?" he asked Thor. "I mean, you've been after this thing since SHIELD collapsed. Not that I haven't enjoyed our little raiding parties, but..."

"No, but this... This brings it to a close."

"As soon as we find out what else this has been used for. I don't just mean weapons. Since when is Strucker capable of human enhancement?"

"Banner and I will give it the once over before it goes back to Asgard. Is that cool with you?" Thor nodded. "Just a few days till the farewell party. You're staying, right?"

"Yes, yes, of course. A victory should be honored with revels."

"Yeah, who doesn't love revels? Captain?"

"Hopefully this puts an end to the Chitauri and Hydra, so yes. Revels."

"Sir, we're about to land," Jarvis said over the speakers and Tony went back to the cockpit as the rest of the team gathered their things. As soon as the door opened, Helen Cho's team rushed Clint out on a stretcher. Thor, Natasha, and Bruce went back to their rooms to clean up, passing by Maria as she boarded the jet.

"Lab's all set up, boss," she told Tony.

"Actually, he's the boss," he pointed at Steve. "I just pay for everything and design everything and make everyone look cooler."

"What's the word on Strucker?" Steve ignored Tony.

"NATO's got him."

"And the three enhanced?"

"Wanda, Pietro and Daniel Maximoff," she handed him a tablet and looked over his arm at the video of the twins protesting as Wanda held her little brother. "The older ones are twins and the little boys the youngest. Orphaned at ten when a shell collapsed their apartment building." He swiped to the next screen that had a picture of the building. "Sokovia's had a rough history," she continued as they walked off the jet. "It's nowhere special, but it's on the way to everywhere special."

"Their abilities?"

"He's got increased metabolism and improved thermal homeostasis. Her thing is neuroelectronic interfacing, telekinesis, mental manipulation. The little one can make himself unseen to the eye, with electromagnetic generating." Steve looked up from the files to her. "He's fast, she's weird and he's a walking paranormal activity."

"Well, they're gonna show up again," he handed the tablet back.

"Agreed. File said they volunteered for Strucker's experiments." The elevator door opened and steve walked in. "It's nuts."

"Right. What kind of monster would let a German scientist experiment on them to protect their country?"

"We're not at war, Captain."

"They are."

After some time with Clint getting fixed up, Jarvis telling Tony about what's inside the cube, Bruce and Tony talking-wait more so- bickering about creating an A.I called ultron, then the two proceeding with the creation but getting stumped and finally decided to leave for Tony's party. Unknown to everyone that ultron became awake and aware killing off Jarvis.

Much time after, Most of the partygoers had gone home, leaving the team to gather in the main living area with Chinese take out.

"But it's a trick," Clint said as he sat next to Maria, twirling a chopstick in his hands.

"No, no, it's much more than that," Thor told him, passing Steve the flask of Asgardian liquor.

"'Ah, whosoever be he worthy shall haveth the power,'" Clint mocked him as he held his arms out towards mjolnir, which sat on the table. "Whatever, man! It's a trick."

Thor laughed. "Well, please. Be my guest." All the side conversations went quiet.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Oh, this is gonna be beautiful," Rhodie let out as Clint stood and walked over to the hammer.

"Clint, you've had a tough week. We won't hold it against you if you can't get it up." The team chuckled.

"You know I've seen this before," Clint told Thor before grabbing onto it and going to lift, but it didn't move. He only laughed as he let go. "I still don't know how you do it."

"Smell the silent judgment?"

"Please, Stark," Clint invited him, "by all means."

Tony stood and went over to the table. "Never one to shrink from an honest challenge. It's physics." He put his arm through the strap and went to grab it. "Right, so if I lift it, I then rule Asgard?"

"Yes, of course."

"I will be reinstituting prima nocta," Tony said as he braced his foot on the side of the table before pulling, but nothing happened. "I'll be right back." He came back a moment later with his Iron Man arm, but nothing happened. "Rhodie?"

"On it." He then came with his War Machine hand and the two worked together, but nothing happened. "Are you even pulling?"

"Are you on my team?"

"Just represent. Pull."

Then Bruce got on top of the table, pulling with both arms and letting out a yell. He let go as he continued to yell, holding up his arms as if he was going to turn into Hulk, but clearly only in good fun. It was Steve's turn next and he rolled up his sleeves before getting into position.

"Come on, Cap," Clint encouraged and Steve pulled, but sighed before walking away.

"Nothing," Thor laughed

"Widow," Bruce invited her.

"Oh, no, no. That's not a question I need answered." She took another swig of beer.

"All deference to the Man Who Wouldn't Be King, but it's rigged," Tony said.

"You bet your ass," Clint agreed.

"Steve, he said a bad language word," Maria joked.

"Did you tell everyone about that?"

"The handle's imprinted," Tony ignored Steve. "Like a security code. 'Whosoever is carrying Thor's fingerprints,' is, I think, the literal translation."

"Yes. It's a- It's a very, very interesting theory," he said as he stood. "I have a simpler one." He picked up mjolnir and tossed it. "You're all not worthy." They all groaned as a piercing noise sounded through the room.

"Worthy," a strange voice let out and they all turned to see one of the damaged Iron Legion bots limping towards them. "No. How could you be worthy? You're all killers."

"Stark," Steve let out.

"Jarvis," he called as the rest of the team stood.

"I'm sorry. I was asleep," the bot apologized. "Or, I was a dream."

"Reboot Legionnaire OS. We got a buggy suit."

"There was this terrible noise. And I was tangled in... in... strings," it looked down at the wires falling out of itself. "I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy."

"You killed someone?" Steve asked it.

"Wouldn't have been my first call, but, down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices."

"Who sent you?"

A recording of Tony's voice played to answer Thor's question. "'I see a suit of armor around the world.'"

"Ultron," Bruce realized.

"In the flesh. Or, no, not yet. Not this chrysalis. But I'm ready." Most of the team slowly went for their weapons. "I'm on mission." Maria silently cocked her gun and Thor gripped his hammer tighter.

"What mission?" Natasha asked.

"Peace in our time." More suits suddenly flew through the walls and Steve kicked up the metal table, but one of the robots flew into it which sent him flying. Helen, Maria,  ended up on the floor by the couches, Maria shooting as soon as she could oriente herself. Natasha and Bruce ended up on the other side of the bar, the former grabbing one of the hidden guns. Steve came flying by on another one in the air before being pushed into one of the walls. Tony was the next one to try jumping on one of the flying ones, ending up on the floor after cutting one of the wires.

Chaos everywhere as everyone ran or fought off the bots.

"Cap!" Clint yelled, sending the shield to him. Steve then threw it at one of the robots, sending it to the ground.

"That was dramatic," Ultron let out once all the others had been destroyed or powered off. "I'm sorry. I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve? With these?" he asked, picking up the limp body of one of the destroyed robots. "These puppets." He crushed its head and dropped it. "There's only one path to peace: the Avengers' extinction." Thor threw his hammer, hitting Ultron and breaking it. "I had strings, but now I'm free," he let out hauntingly as the lights in his eyes dimmed. "There are no strings on me." He sung creepily as he sent his consciousness through all the bots.

"All our work is gone," Bruce said in disbelief as they all stood in the lab. "Ultron cleared out. He used the internet as an escape hatch."

"Ultron," Steve repeated quietly

"He's been in everything," Natasha told them. "Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other."

"He's in your files, he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more interesting?" Rhodie asked.

"Nuclear codes," Maria realized.

"Nuclear codes," he nodded.

"Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can," Rhodie continued.

"Nukes? He said he wanted us dead."

"He didn't say dead. He said extinct," Steve corrected Natasha.

"He also said he killed somebody."

"There wasn't anyone else in the building," Maria told Clint.

"Yes, there was," Tony spoke for the first time, turning on the 3-D modeling space in the middle of the room.

"What?" Bruce let out quietly as he walked closer to the destroyed orange mass. "This is insane."

"Jarvis was the first line of defense. He would have shut Ultron down. It makes sense," Steve said.

"No," Bruce shook his head. "Ultron could have assimilated Jarvis. This isn't strategy. This is rage."

No one had a chance to speak as Thor came into the room, dressed in his gear, and picked Tony up by the throat.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Rhodie let out.

"It's going around," Clint said.

"Come on. Use your words, buddy," Tony choked out.

"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark."

"Thor. The Legionnaire?" Thor glared at Tony before setting him down.

"The trail went cold about one hundred miles out, but it's headed north," he reported. "And it has the scepter. Now we have to retrieve it again."

"Genie's out of that bottle," Natasha told him. "Clear and present is Ultron."

"I don't understand," Helen spoke up. "You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?" The room was silent before Tony started laughing as they all looked at him.

"Mmm-mm," Bruce tried to get him to stop, but he didn't.

"You think this is funny?"

"No," he told Thor. "It's probably not, right? This is very terrible. Is it so..." He laughed again. "Is it so... It is. It's so terrible."

"This could have been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand."

"No. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this."

"Tony, maybe this might not be the time," Bruce tried.

"Really?" he asked him, spinning around. "That's it? You just roll over, show your belly every time somebody snarls?"

"Only when I've created a murder bot."

"We didn't. We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?"

"Well you did something right," Steve stopped Tony before he could go any further. "And you did it right here. The Avengers were supposed to be different than SHIELD."

"Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?"

"No, it's never come up," Rhodie told him.

"Saved New York?"

"Recall that?" he continued. "A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing three hundred feet below it. We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the live-long day, but that up there? That's... That's the endgame. How were you guys planning on beating them?"

"Together."

Tony stepped closer to Steve. "We'll lose."

"Then we'll do that together too. Thor's right. Ultron's calling us out. And I'd like to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place. Let's start making it smaller." Tony just looked at the ground, remembering the vision the maximoff girl had shown him.
_____________________________________

Dani'il maximoff followed his sister through the streets of Sokovia. "What's he doing?" he nudged wanda, who followed his line of sight that aligned with pietro.

"is not for your brother" he mused.

"oh, no" the woman answered. "this is too.." she was interrupted by wanda.

"is every girl in sokovia getting a dress from paris? at least gerties looked warm" she said sarcastically before walking past them, pulling Daniel along. The boy rolling his eyes at her.

Pietro sent an irritated looks at his twin. "uh... she's kidding" pietro stammered to the woman, before handing the women the dress and following his sister.

"you're jealous you're not getting a dress" wanda send him an annoyed look.

"No, I agree with Piet. You sound pretty jealous to me" Daniel spoke up only for his sister to look at him in disbelief.

"What?" The boy looked around awkwardly.

Pietro looked down at his little brother, grinning uncontrollably, while Danny giggled.

"you keep stealing, you're going to get shot" wanda said.

"pfft" pietro seemed annoyed by his sisters assumption.

"i mean it" wanda continued. "at speed, nothing can touch you. but standing still..."

"do you think i want to be?" pietro interrupted, turning around and stopping in front of his sister. "you said, wait. i'm waiting. and i still don't understand for what! we had stark helpless! all these years, and you.."

before pietro could finish the voice of the blond woman rang out, calling for her brother. "costel, where did you go?" she asked which made the three siblings perk up.

"the church" the little boy answered his sister and than continued speaking to the maximoffs. "the man says you need to come to the church" he explained.

"what man?" wanda asked. "the iron man" costel answered.

pietro turned back to look at his sister in question. Daniel stared off, waiting for her answer.

wanda had agreed to go check out the church but not without a bit of unsureness. maybe it was a trap.

Before they stepped into the church Daniel was held back by His brother. "Keep a shield up just incase. And if things turn left I want you to turn invisible and run off, don't look behind you just run! As fast as you can." Daniel stared at his brothers eyes, nodding his head furiously. He didn't like any of this whatsoever, the boy hadn't had a clue on how to respond so he just followed his brother orders.

Slowly they walked into the building that was under construction. Danny between his siblings, producing a spherical force field around himself and his siblings.

"talk and if you're waisting our time.."

a voice had answered them, even before wanda could finish her sentence. "did you know this church is in the exact center of the city? the elders decreed it so that everyone could be equally close to god" the voice came from someone sitting on a chair on the podium. he was turned away from them.

"i like that" the voice continued. "the geometry of belief." he paused "you're wondering why you can't look inside my head"

"sometimes it's hard. but sooner or later, every man shows himself" wanda answered alluding on his still hidden self.

the man stood up, loosening the blanket that had rested on him the whole time, and turned around. it was a humanoid robot. "oh I'm sure they do" he mused.

Daniel jumped back in surprise, his shield quickly dissolving but quickly reconstructing as he gathered himself. "Wait no, I don't seek to harm you guys so you can drop the field" he said . The little boy staring at him in shock keeping his field up and strong.

"you guys needed something more than a man..that's why you let stark take the scepter"

"i didn't expect" wanda answered. "but i saw starks fear, i knew it would control him, make him self-destruct" she explained.

"everyone creates the thing they dread" the robot started to walk around. "men of peace create engines of war. invaders create avengers. people create.." he paused, unsure. "..smaller people? Uh.."

"children!" he chuckled "I lost the word there"

"designed to supplant them, to help them end" he dramatically finished.

"is that why you've come, to end the avengers?" wanda asked.

"i've come to save the world, but also... yeah"

Danny just stared at the robotic man unsure of trusting him or not...

"We'll move out right away" ultron walked through the gates of the giant room.

"this is a start" he spread his arms as he hinted towards the machines in front of him. "but there's something we need to begin the real work"

the maximoffs followed him.

"all of these are.." wanda started as unltron interrupted her. "me"

Danny was confused by the machines all around him, smaller, just in comparison with the real ultron, robots walking everywhere in the room.

"This seems like cult to me?" he spoke. His voice louder than intended, echoing through the building.

Pietro quickly slapping a hand over the boys mouth earning a yelp as ultron turned around chuckling. "Well it does seem that way doesn't it? Lucky for you it isn't, kiddo?."

Danny just looked at the metal man confused, fighting to remove his brothers hand from his face. "Wait no, you aren't a kid at all are you?" Ultron mused.

Wanda and pietro both taking a protective step forward infront of their brother.

"You're supposed to be a sixteen year old, and yet, you appear to be no older than 10" the robot chuckled.

"Seems those experiments have done more than grant you extraordinary power-"

"That's enough!" Pietro seethed as he glared at the metal man. Ultron chuckling "my apologies. It wasn't my intention to cause any discomfort."

"Apology excepted." Danny spoke up from behind his siblings, clutching at the side of his brother arm, staring at the ground. Both of his siblings staring at him in worry.

Ultron turned away
