After Steve put back all the infinity stones, he looked at his time traveling device. He had to probably go back to 2023.

Steve didnt feel like he belonged there. In 2023.. his mind was stuck in 1945. The year he met you. You were his soulmate. He was supposed to spend the rest of his life with you.. but instead he saw you grow old and sick. He even went to your funeral.

Steve knew exactly what to do. With one click on the button he was back at the military base. He smiled as he finally felt at home after years of being lonely.

He headed inside and took a good look around. People who he passed looked at him in shock as they couldn't believe that he was back. He headed into one of the dressing room that he always went to.

He saw his uniform laying on a cart that was about to be taken away. He put it on. He headed into the hallway straight towards your office. Right when he did he saw your boss heading in your direction. He decided to step into the office besides yours. He could see you through the glass wall between the two.

You still looked equally beautiful as they day that he last saw you. He was in the exact some room awhile ago, but back then he didn't dare to go see you. The infinity stones were more important.

You were in your office, finalising the paper work that reported Steve as missing and almost certainly deceased. Your heart was aching with grieve.

'Are you done?'

You looked up and saw your boss.

'No more updates? We are just going to stop searching for him?' You asked.

Steve smiled at the idea that you were still thinking about him and searching for him.

'His plane crashed in the middle of a freezing cold sea.. he passed away. I know you loved him dearly but we have to save our men for a mission with a better ending.'

'Yeah.' You swallowed. 'Ill deliver this to your office soon. I just need some time.'

'Alright. Don't take too long.'

He watched your boss walk away. Steve couldn't wait anymore. He rushed out of the tiny office and stopped infront of the door.

Agent Y/L

Was still on the door. His heart was beating fast. He had been waiting for this moment for yours. He knocked on the door.

'One moment.' He heard your say.

You put the paper work aside and got up. You opened your office door. Your eyes widened right away as you saw Steve. For a second you thought you were going to get a heart attack but all you body could do was gasp and shut the door in his face. Steve wasn't even mad. He got your reaction.

'Are you okay?' He asked.

'I-I.. I need a moment.'

Tears came up in your eyes as you flattened your dress. You had to be dreaming. This couldn't be real. This wasnt real. This couldn't be real.

You slowly turned to the door and opened it. Steve looked at your shocked face and tear filled eyes.

'I've missed you.' He just said.

You slowly reached your hand out to him and touched his face. It was to confirm to yourself that this was, in fact, real. You then covered your mouth with that same hand while slowly walking backwards until you hit your desk.

'Steve..' you just managed to say before you felt a tear fall down your face.

You quickly wiped it away and tried to calm yourself down by taking a deep breath.

'Its alright. I know it must be a shock.' He said while walking in and closing the door behind him.

To his surprise he felt fine right now. He didnt know how long that was going to last.

'I have..' You had to stop and clear your throat before continuing. 'I have paperwork laying here stating you're dead.' You choked.

Steve leaned against the door and smiled at you.

'I'm not. I'm frozen in that crashed spaceship somewhere.' He shrugged.

'If you're frozen.. how can you be here?' You asked.

Steve straightened his shirt and took a moment to stare into your beautiful eyes that were still tearing up.

'Its a long story. Something with Thanos and the future and infinity stones.'

'Sorry the what now?'

Steve grinned.

'I've lived in the future for awhile. Saving the earth as captain america in the year 2000-something. My body is technically still frozen out there somewhere and it will be for the next 65 years.. but thats alright. I know I'm technically from the future right now but.. all those years that I lived there I didn't feel at home.' He explained.

You didn't understand a word he was saying. He was from the future? Frozen for 65 years? This all didn't make sense.

'In the years I was unfrozen I watched you die. I carried your casket at your funeral. I couldn't get you out of head.' He said while he got teary eyes himself.

He reached into his pocket and grabbed his pocketwatch. He opened it and showed it to you.

'I always had you with me. I tried to move on with other people but I couldn't. I dont belong in the 2000s I belong here..  with you.' He said, managing to stay strong.

'2000s? Years of waiting for me? Watching me die? This is all very hard to believe.'

Steve put his pocketwatch back into his pocket. He walked over to your radio and turned it on. One of his all time favourite songs from 1945 started playing. He hadn't heard it in ages. It made him smile right away.

He headed over to you and stopped right infront of you. He moved some hair behind your ear (if possible) and smiled at you.

'The moral of the story is that.. Id like to have that dance now.'

He grabbed your hand and you got up. You laid your head against his body and held one of his hand while wrapping the other around him. You felt his strong arm wrap around you. You just danced to the music in each others arms.

'This feels like a dream. Like I'm hallucinating.' You said.

'To me too. I've dreamed about this moment for so long.' He said.

You enjoyed each others moment a little longer in complete silence. You looked up at him and your eyes met his. You gave him one of your bright smiles. Steve leaned in and pressed his soft lips against yours. You kissed him back right away. This warm, tingling feeling.. you missed it so much. You missed him. He pulled back.

'I love you.' He smiled at you.

'I love you too.'

Then your office door opened. You let Steve go right away as you faced your boss. He looked at Steve in disbelieve.

'Captain Rogers?'

'At your service, sir.' He said.

You walked over to your desk and grabbed the paperwork you made. You threw it away and smiled.

'We don't need that anymore.'
